  1. Don't look at it! ...or your face will melt off.....!
  2. Anyone know whats going on with the Euclid Ave side of the PNC tower lobby? All the windows have paper in them and they removed the revolving door.
  3. First time I've really been to the site up close. Pretty impressive... And a nice audience too!
  4. From One Cleveland Center. Looks different in pictures but when you walk by the windows the thing looks MASSIVE even from over here!
  5. The company that owns the Superior Building, E.V. Bishoff, also owns the building my office is in -- the City Club. Both are Class C and both have some serious vacancies. I think both are huge candidates for conversion to housing, especially the City Club building given it is across the street from the future Heinen's and in a more residential area. I am VERY surprised that the Standard Building, Leader Building and Halle Building are all being considered for conversion before the City Club or Superior Buildings. Thanks. The Superior building could make for some awesome housing... it seems to get overlooked but with a proper renovation it could be really great. It is one of the few older buildings we have with some substantial height.
  6. Question about the Superior Building? I assume it is a class C building but it doesn't appear to be very full.
  7. Gotribe you are right, I just meant unlike the Hilton project, which is being heavily pushed specifically for the RNC, the Le Meriden has a more flexible time table.
  8. ^ In the Crains article above they mention the date will probably be pushed back due to the funding issue, but sounds like they arent worried about rushing just to be open for the RNC. They are opening the Le Meridien based on ALL the growth in Cleveland, not just for the RNC
  9. Wow ... K&D Is on a roll... But if they really are going to at least partially save the Halle Parking Garage from its current bombed out appearance then that is fantastic news
  10. Btw the Pho Thang Cafe downtown is delicious! Have been twice this week. Staff is very pleasant and service is generally quick. That space is huge but today they were fairly full and short staffed... Not so pleasant for the staff but a good sign for business. All the reviews i have seen have been very positive. I hope they do well! http://www.clevescene.com/scene-and-heard/archives/2014/07/18/new-vietnamese-eatery-brings-pho-to-restaurant-hungry-section-of-downtown
  11. I wonder what will happen to my dentist!! I have one picture of the inside. It really is beautiful as KJP mentioned.
  12. http://www.cleveland.com/entertainment/index.ssf/2014/07/drake_plans_a_move_to_clevelan.html Surely Drake, Lebron, Manziel and their friends can convince Ferrari to go ahead with this project? :P
  13. That was really fantastic, Pizza! While reporting this story was not handled well in the least, the fact that something like this was conceivable and plausible to everyone says a lot. Just a few years ago this would be impossible. Now, I could truly see it happen. We just have to wait and see
  14. Please return to the article. It has been updated and it's not quite as positive unfortunately.... Ferrari isn't currently interested. But they are still trying
  15. I saw that too. What is this, an alternate universe?
  16. My first reaction before even reading: is this real?! Am I looking at the right city thread?!!! Is this April fools????
  17. What about in winter when the leaves die off revealing all the graffiti and trash?
  18. It's definitely visible from afar... Sorry terrible pic but this is from the LC bridge
  19. Actually Willard Park currently doesn't seem very useful.... It could definitely be more engaging. Aside from the Free Stamp it doesn't seem all that inviting. I liked the new idea to liven it up
  20. This morning the DCA held a breakfast gathering at the Hoyt Block to unveil their findings leading to the Step Up Cleveland initiative. After polling and surveying the public the study shows ways both short term and long term to better connect downtown and enhance the dead zones and gaps between districts. They have come up with some really good ideas that I hope get implemented. Here is the new presentation: http://www.downtowncleveland.com/stepupdowntown.aspx The highlight though was getting to see the very little known Hoyt Block courtyard. I felt like I was in another world! Definitely one of the most amazing spaces I have ever been in in Cleveland. You might remember a while back Scene had a piece on the courtyards future development... http://www.clevescene.com/scene-and-heard/archives/2014/01/15/warehouse-district-development-will-open-up-secret-courtyard-of-mystery And finally the pictures... Wish I would've had more than my phone!
  21. "Zaremba plans 108-unit apartment project at stalled Avenue District townhouse development" http://www.cleveland.com/business/index.ssf/2014/07/zaremba_plans_108-unit_apartme.html#incart_river_default From the article: "If the apartment plans get a thumbs-up this week, that won't close the book on the Avenue District's recessionary tale. Two parking lots, east and south of the former condo tower, are still in receivership as part of the 2010 foreclosure case. Court records filed last month show that Weston Inc., a Warrensville Heights investor and developer, has a deal to purchase those parking lots for $1 million - money that would go to KeyBank, one of the lenders on the original condo deal." Hmmmmmmmm!
  22. New door color Not the easiest to see but from left to right: refurbished window, stripped window, untouched window. The finished ones look really nice I see a 9! Finishing up What a view, ;)
  23. Wow good news... Now if this leads to the empty spots on 12th being filled as well that would be nice
  24. Granite going up on base of county building. If I recall this was extra granite from the Breuer Tower or P&H Buildings. Can't remember exactly
  25. Wow....! The things we learn on UO! That is amazing. Was it torn down for the shoreway?
