  1. Not exactly. That was an old rendering
  2. That was a "test area" to prove they could use the existing skywalk. I really hope they complete that soon because it looks pretty ridiculous... Speaking of which, I noticed on each of the corners of the parking garage there are groups of conduit and wiring. Are they putting something on the outside?
  3. Wow that was fast, I was there just 2 hours ago and they were still putting it together!!! Looking good
  4. Cool plan for the vacant lot next to the Blue/Green E. 79th St. Station. Definitely would improve the feel of the surroundings when you stop there. http://www.bbcdevelopment.org/2014/04/see-whats-envisioned-for-e-79th-st/
  5. For the first time ever this morning my green line train had automated announcements explaining the weekend bus service due to the ODOT construction. From Green Rd. to Downtown I think the announcement played about three times periodically between stops. It's a simple thing but these are the kinds of things that make RTA look much more organized and prepared. I was impressed
  6. I noticed on my way home that the old garage between the Calfee garage and the building on 9th that houses CVS is going to be auctioned. Does this mean anything significant? That garage has got to be the most hideous structure I've ever seen and besides that it's literally crumbling. I can see the roof from my office and it's pretty rough looking
  7. This very minimally makes up for MayDays post earlier... haha
  8. I totally did, as I do every year! It's really emotionally damaging! :P
  9. "It helps that they're actually better looking than the renderings when you see them in person." We don't often hear that on UO lol
  10. It changes based on the sun and angle of where you are. Sometimes it's very see-through and when it's reflecting it looks very solid.
  11. Interesting item on the Agenda... 3. DF2014-022 - Hopkins Airport Terminal Exterior Renovations Project Location: Cleveland Hopkins International Airport Project Representative: Hugh Holley, City of Cleveland
  12. Update from Scene but the real news is at the very end... http://m.clevescene.com/cleveland/blogs/Post?basename=heres-an-update-on-the-plans-for-the-new-downtown-hilton-hotel&day=18&id=scene-and-heard&month=03&year=2014 "Semi-relatedly, here's a bit of neat-o news: There are now plans to construct a bar - open to the public - at the top of the hotel." Wait what?! YES.
  13. Was there ever an announcement, etc as far as what this "public square revitalization" will involve?? There is a public meeting coming up in the next couple months where more finalized plans will be released by the designer. That's what I understood
  14. Please be true! Especially Public Square. To me that is desperately needed and could be A HUGE Impact on so many things... The WHD Parking lots... Building something on the empty public square lot, Tower City, the May Co. Building... Also I have to wonder what RTA will do during such a big project. Regardless of whether or not the West Side Transit Center is still happening, all the bus stops will be disrupted during construction.
  15. Great set! Nice opening shot of my building ;)
  16. Also- at Tower City, keep the turnstiles to get into/out of the two platforms but are they really blocked from each other once you're on the platform? The two passages between the two need to be kept open with clear directions and signage at all times. If they really want to market the whole rail system as one, then it should be just that!!!
  17. I think we've pretty much gone over this same scenario a hundred times. There's a lot of things RTA could do but really to me number one is just to put the whole system under the SAME PAYMENT METHOD. the confusion going between red and blue/green lines is absolutely ridiculous, paying when you are going one direction and not the other... It's too reliant on people just going from the end of line to Tower City. Not everyone does this! People want to ride from any stop and all places in between including transfers! Does anyone have any insight as to whether RTA is even considering this????
  18. In the Playhouse Sq. Email newsletter today they said the 14th St. arch is the biggest.
  19. Looks great in person. They really are huge.
  20. Wow they are huge! I know some people hate it and think its over the top and gaudy... and I say YES! SO WHAT... We need something over the top. I think Playhouse Square is going to look amazing after all this is done.
  21. Also I forgot to add... We've discussed it before but The payment process is mind-blowingly inconvenient. Let's say in the future we have say 20-30 ppl waiting at FEB to get on. If every person has to get on one at a time and swipe their payment it will take forever. Something needs to change.
  22. It's fairly reliable but it's just not convenient for many. In the morning if I don't make the 730 Green Rd train that goes to the waterfront, I can walk to E. 9th faster than it takes to wait for the next train. I get why all trains can't continue onto the waterfront but the whole thing just seems like a hassle that most people don't want to deal with. I've tried to explain but am the only one in the office who rides the rapid. I think things will pick up as time goes on with phase 2.
