  1. Ah. Sorry, now I can see it. Thanks for the identification. Those buildings next to the bridge in the flats added so much density, so cool... Too bad they went. It's so interesting to see how certain buildings really stand out as opposed to the current skyline. On the far right you can just barely see the AT&T Huron Road building
  2. This is what I was talking about
  3.   WOW KJP that is an AMAZING image... there are so many details to take in. One question: What is the tall building in the left side on the image? The tallest building to the left. I cant figure out where that is, obviously its no longer standing.
  4. In 1994 the Renaissance Hotel while under Stouffers management, had these plans designed by Bojtos of a 19 story 362 room annex. The annex was to be done by 1996 but Renaissance Hotels' acquisition by Marriott put an end to the plan
  5. I can't believe how filthy the building was in that 1964 photo! WOW... the cleaning it will need today is minor compaired to that
  6. Construction is supposed to start Q1 of 2013. Lets pray
  7. I have no idea. I was hoping someone might know of this proposed building and shed more light on it. But it was never built so it was never "gone". I can't say for sure, but it sure looks like a modified version of it did get built at the corner of 9th and Chester. At least it's built with a similar style (blocky shape, heavy white columns, wider base, narrower upper floors) so we have an idea how it would look in Cleveland. That's what I was thinking, it looks very similar to the Ohio Savings Plaza building
  8. I was surprised to see a Tv commercial the other day for the Cleveland Art Museum and it was very well produced. Anyone else see it???
  9. Would be nice to have some height in that stretch. Too bad
  10. I was wondering that too. Do any photos exist of the original rotunda per-Breuer tower and office conversion?? Does anyone know what it originally looked like?
  11. These are all so interesting... some of the late 1950's and 60's renderings leave a lot to be desired... :-o haha but still cool. Recently I found out that somewhere in the 90's I believe, the Renaissance Hotel was going to expand and get rid of that hideous parking structure, plus fill in the empty corner at the end of the block. Now THAT would be something. I saw it in a book, if I can find it ill have to post it here.
  12. My pics from this afternoon: Even babies! Having lived here 5 years, Ive followed a lot of the tail end of the Ameritrust debacle and after all of that, it was so exciting to a)finally get to see the inside, and b) see some new life on that intersection, even if only for an hour and a half. Hopefully this is the preview of things to come!
  13. wow cool view; I have to ask... was this taken with an iphone panorama? :-P
  14. WOW I am in love with the beautiful art deco Cleveland Clinic building... wish that wouldve been realized
  15. I've worked downtown on E. 9 th for almost 6 months and don't think I've ever seen the doors locked.
  16. Just got email on holiday activities from DCA and thought this was pretty cool as a lot of people like myself haven't had the opportunity to see the rotunda!!! "Starting November 21st, each Wednesday, a different University Circle institution will feature free programming inside of the Cleveland Trust Rotunda as part of "Circle in the City." Institutions include the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Music Settlement, the Cleveland Institute of Music, Cleveland Orchestra, Cleveland Botanical Garden and MOCA Cleveland. Aside from special events and displays, the Cleveland Trust Rotunda has not been used since the late 1980s. This beautiful, historic landmark will be the host venue as visitors have the unique opportunity to learn more about these local institutions during the holidays. For more event information and a detailed schedule, visit universitycircle.org. "
  17. Went to Accent on Friday. The space is amazing, absolutely love the look and feel. Definitely visually impressive. All of our food and drinks were fantastic as well. Very unique, hope others have the same great experience.

Crazy, the clouds have finally passed and now you can see the lake is brown from all the dirt churned up. It's very strange looking!

  24. Good to know, I hadn't noticed much lately. I think a lot of people don't walk between playhouse square and the public square area, especially at night, because of that huge dead zone. These projects are going to make such a big difference
