  1. Just beautiful. The perfect blue sky!! 🤩
  2. I don’t get the Detroit reference. What is their catalyst? Isn’t Cleveland’s downtown population larger? Also correct me if I’m wrong but doesn’t downtown Detroit have a lot more big name retail due to the fact that it is largely subsidized by Dan Gilbert? Don’t get me wrong I fully understand a project if this size is complex to pull off and that the market has changed. But this sounds like a lot of excuses by Stark.
  3. Looks like the medium sized version was submitted for approval: https://starkenterprises.com/highly-anticipated-nucleus-submits-schematic-design-for-city-approval/
  4. That is too bad. Wish this was in the hands of someone else because it could be a great project.
  5. Nothing wrong with a long term plan, just wish there was something more concrete to begin with. This sounds like its "a plan to make a plan" which is the last thing we need more of in this city. I will remain optimistic as I do think Bedrock has the ability to do something great here, just think they jumped the gun with this big 'announcement'
  6. This should be a nice addition! Between ESPN, Cocky's and this upcoming wine bar, the southern end of the Flats East Bank will finally be full. "Cherie Wine Bar and Lounge to Open in Flats East Bank This Fall The East Bank of the Flats will welcome its first wine bar when Cherie Wine Bar and Lounge opens around Thanksgiving. The project, some two years in the making, is being piloted by Merrick Wolstein and Amanda Chamoun."
  7. That was very odd. All vague sort of “we will begin due diligence and surveying” to start shaping this plan. I’m still not clear on the reason for this big press conference.
  8. So far This seems to just be an announcement that they are moving forward with planning to see what the best use of the riverfront property is… I’m a little confused with the theatrics. Nothing has been very specific.
  9. That would be quite a nice boost of energy to this part of town. Any more info / sources?
  10. @WindyBuckeyeare you referring to Erieview Tower or 45 Erieview?
  11. This is so pathetic. It seems that everyone in the city, including the current mayor, is just waiting for a new mayor before anything can happen.
  12. I would like to think that they can repave the street once Intro and Waterford Bluffs are not in heavy construction- I know there has been utility work on Intro that required them to dig part of Lorain up. It is getting pretty bad as you enter / exit the bridge...
  13. I feel like the gap between the tower and 55 Public Square looks much more pronounced from that angle in the rendering than in reality from the pedestrian level. Walking around that area and picturing how everything will appear you get the sense that it will seem much more dense and compact, especially given the vast emptiness that is there now. Is this perfect from our UO sensibilities? No. But wow is this going to completely transform downtown in a way we’ve not seen in a long time. I’m hopeful this will spark ongoing development and that this ugly blemish will finally be plugged once and for all.
  14. Just a small change but Betts added awnings to the Schofield Building and they look great!
  15. Is it normal for a “temporary” field office to be so official looking, with signage and everything? I’ve never seen another one like this.
  16. @Boomerang_BrianI am going to need an official statement because we have been misled before...
  17. I spend a lot of time in Grand Rapids, and I always wish the entrances to the Renaissance could be treated more like the Amway Grand Plaza: the lights, the plants, outdoor patios etc. would go such a long way to spruce things up and make this side of Public Square more appealing. They've got to do something with that awful box of a ballroom addition and parking garage.
  18. This is badly needed and overdue. This really should be a crown jewel property but it seems to have been let go… the outside of the hotel is a mess. Here’s hoping they can really turn it around.
  19. Wow I’m not sure how I feel about this. On the one hand the entire area around the casino needs so much help. It’s kind of a mess and doesn’t seem to be well maintained. This would definitely liven up street life but I’m worried about the modifications to the classic Higbee building. The current state of Ontario is so rough I guess I’m curious if this might help. 🤷🏻‍♂️
  20. This might mean nothing, but I noticed Playhouse Square wants to demolish this little building next to the Greyhound Station. Just wondering why now? https://planning.clevelandohio.gov/designreview/brd/detailDR.php?ID=3809&CASE=DF 2021-019
  21. Thanks for sharing this. I was born and raised about 20 minutes north of here in Lodi. Sadly Stockton was almost always considered to be a place to "stay away from" and downtown Stockton was a place I almost never went. It always amazed me that they had some really great architecture and made me wish I could've seen its early days. They did develop their waterfront with a nice theater, etc. but it just never truly took off.
  22. New rendering posted to Twitter today from Cleveland Construction
  23. To me this really fits so well within the other towers and acts as a nice complement, and a burst of modern glass design vs. the heavier / darker look of the current big three. I would be very happy if this is how it comes out!
  24. I do agree on tower placement... seeing the tower on the Jacobs lot suddenly feels like its suffocating Terminal Tower. Right now our new big four seem nicely and evenly spaced apart to allow each to shine.
