  1. Oh makes sense. Thanks. Where does one read the transcript??
  2. From twitter: "@mjarboe: Forest City conference call: A "tremendous increase" in traffic at Tower City since casino opened; "very robust increase" in parking. #FCE" Now where are the stores!
  3. I agree we should move on but man... I can't believe we lost every single building on those four corners. Thanks for sharing the pictures.
  4. Well this is unrelated to the previous discussion so sorry If I'm going off topic with something a bit less serious... but does anyone know if they still are planning to put the Superman statue in the airport? :?
  5. Question: why is there virtually no advertising of the observation deck? If a person came into Tower City from out of town they would not even know such a thing existed. There was signage in the lobby when it first opened but as far as I can tell there is nothing now. Just seems like a wasted opportunity especially with the new influx of people.
  6. Really? I asked the guard who checked my ID and he said no problem taking pictures, just respect people's privacy and don't take pictures of the table games.
  7. Thanks! If you stand in the lobby of the Renaissance Hotel and look at the 55 Public Square building, you see the perfect reflection of Terminal Tower. I was using my iPhone because the lighting in there makes picture taking tricky but here are a few more with my camera: LOVED this inner portico off Public Square coming into the Higbee Building This was cool, its in the basement level near the Buffet:
  8. Last night I finally got to see the Casino, and I think it came out beautifully. More than that though, having never been in Higbees, it was overwhelming to finally be inside that building and see how much space there is! It is easy to get lost, especially since it was PACKED. I waited in line but only for about 5-10 minutes, really nothing. There were some angry people who were turned away but that is because they didn't have their IDs. :-o REALLY...? People are unbelievable. All in all I think it will be a positive influence simply because there were SO many people there, but also outside walking around. I overheard a group of people probably late 20's early 30's say how they rarely go downtown but when they are, they wonder why they don't come down more because they love the city feel. After I left it was about 11:45 and I thought everything would be closed, but we ventured to the Renaissance Hotel to see if the Lobby Court bar was open. To my surprise it was not only open, but PACKED. They even had tables out in the lobby. It was nice to see
  9. You need to reread the thread. There is a Le Merdian Hotel going into those 4 buildings. HOPEFULLY. I don't think that has been confirmed as of yet. I wish there would be an official announcement PRONTO.

Great set! Look at our beautiful weather!
  11. A week ago there were several workers on the scaffolding outside, now looks like that horrible metal crown might finally be coming off?? I really can't wait for this to be in full swing.
  12. Very positive article: http://www.marketwatch.com/story/cleveland-medical-mart-and-convention-center-to-install-a-distributed-network-from-extenet-systems-2012-05-22
  13. Sounds to me like the casino alcohol is a bargain... I mean if you are at any relatively nice restaurant cocktails are sometimes between $8 to $12 or more... beer a little less but still, I don't think there's room to complain about ANY prices at the Horseshoe... expect MAYBE the garage but thats very simple: If you're not gambling, don't park there! This morning on the radio there were some pretty unbelievable calls complaining about everything, including prices of the buffet. I mean if you've been to Vegas you pay astronomically for the buffets, and yes I know we aren't talking Vegas here but nonetheless I think most aspects of our casino are very reasonably priced.
  14. Did they ever light the curved piece above the roof? Seems like that would be cool at night...
  15. Has anyone heard or know if work continues on Bridgeview Tavern and Co. which was going into the old Bridgeview Cafe on Lorain? Supposedly they wanted to open June 2 but I havnt heard anything
  16. It was posted in the innerbelt thread the other day. Agree about the Gaurdians being lit! Ah thanks. Forgot about that thread but thanks
  17. Hope this is the right place for this: http://www.dot.state.oh.us/districts/D12/Deputy%20Director/News/Pages/Lorain-Carnegie-Bikeway-Improvements-to-Begin-Next-Week.aspx YES! Finally! I'm so excited for this, especially lighting up the Guardians of Traffic
  18. My friends tried to get in tonight (Wednesday night) around 8:30/9 but the lines were pretty long so they went to dinner. After the game let out the lines were at least double what they were when they got there. Sounds like it was another crazy night!
  19. :-o I want to work THERE... that fountain is awesome
  20.   This needs to start NOW. That building is hideous
  21. Could they have done more to the entrance of TC? Probably, but I think what they did really made it much more inviting. I took some pictures today and it felt welcoming and safe. Of course there are police everywhere, but hopefully this new energy will make TC a place to go once again. Inside there were all sorts of people coming and going, I thought it felt very different than it has in the past, I thought it was great!
  22. Just tried to get in and there are lines at all entrances. The Tower City entrance down below wasn't too bad but wrapped around a couple times. I must say the amount of pedestrian traffic around downtown right now is great! Including Tower City. I hope this keeps up. Great to see so much life!
  23. The newsnet5 live feed. It cut out the second they said the doors were open... Lol
  24. I just watched the opening remarks online. Dan Gilbert, frank Jackson, Marcus glover, etc. followed by a very impressive 3D projection show like the one I posted above. The building "opened" and a train went through showing pictures of the old Higbees days followed by several attractions and then money, chips, slots etc. it was pretty cool!
  25. Sorry, I was wrong. Well... the PD was wrong... :P "The food court restaurants (Corky & Lenny's, B Spot and Rosie & Rocco's) will serve from 10 a.m. to midnight daily, with extended weekend hours. At The Spread buffet, breakfast will be served 7-10 a.m. Monday-Saturday; daily lunch, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.; dinner, 4-10 p.m. daily. Sunday brunch will run from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Because of state gaming regulations, minors are prohibited from entering any part of the casino, including its restaurants. (A previous version of this story incorrectly stated that children can dine in The Spread by entering only through Tower City.)" -from the article I mentioned
