  1. :-o :wtf: From this article: http://www.cleveland.com/business/index.ssf/2012/04/downtown_cleveland_parking_tig.html "Marcus Glover, the casino's general manager, said Rock Ohio Caesars has leased a 320-space parking lot in the Warehouse District from the Asher family. The garage and the lot will offer free parking to casino guests who play for at least 30 minutes or meet certain thresholds in Caesars Entertainment Corp.'s customer-loyalty program. For nongamblers, the rates will jump. Glover wouldn't say how high. With parking operators describing the casino as "a special event every night," though, it would be no surprise to see daily rates of $20 or more near the casino. Rock Ohio Caesars also is negotiating to use 300 spaces in the area for overflow valet parking, if necessary. Glover would not identify the property, saying the deal is not done. That would put the casino in control of nearly 2,000 spaces, slightly fewer than the 2,100 slot machines in the gaming hall." Boooooo
  2. New photos of the Renaissance guest rooms and club level on their website. Anyone know why the awnings were taken off the outside of the hotel? https://www.marriott.com/hotels/hotel-photos/clebr-renaissance-cleveland-hotel/
  3. The fact that something potentially is about to happen on that lot is thrilling but I am concerned about the Casino being involved... I hope we get this cleared up quick!
  4. They can't be already breaking ground, the thing hasn't even been designed has it? Apart from those very basic renderings?
  5. That's the old Barney's space?! Hmmm well like everyone said if it was to be replaced with something better then go for it but if it was to sit that would be very bad for TC because regardless of what you think of HRC it's a tourist draw
  6. :wtf: hmmm... did anyone see this? http://www.cleveland.com/metro/index.ssf/2012/04/hard_rock_northfield_park_unve.html From the article about the Northfield "Racino" "Allen said the Hard Rock Cafe will offer live entertainment for 1,000 to 3,000 people and interactive displays of rock memorabilia from the chain's extensive collection. He has said the company would continue to operate a "previous generation" Hard Rock at Tower City in downtown Cleveland but could eventually reverse that decision."
  7. Man I wish they did tours of Terminal Tower in its entirety... The English Oak Room, Silver Grille, Greenbriar, etc. I'd definitely pay for that!!
  8. Oh thanks. I never have seen the inside, didn't know it was that elaborate!
  9. I just did a street view and this location would definitely liven up the street. There are some hideous parking garages on Chester... or rather one long hideous one now that I look at it
  10. So true... if this goes through, most of the dead zone will be spoken for.... Schofield into Kimpton, John HB hopefully into Le Meridian or other hotel, Huntington isn't really empty but perhaps will become County HQ, and finally this cluster of buildings into apartments! Only one huge chunk remains and that is Ameritrust :| but hopefully not for long!

  17. I know this has been discussed but I couldn't find it anywhere, thought It could use its own thread. "Cleveland school district revives plans to sell downtown headquarters Published: Tuesday, April 17, 2012, 5:00 AM Updated: Tuesday, April 17, 2012, 6:20 AM CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Cleveland school district has revived plans to sell its East Sixth Street headquarters and rent space downtown instead, while relocating other offices to the closed East High School. The plan presented to the school board by Chief Executive Officer Eric Gordon would save the district nearly $5.2 million over five years in operating costs and $13.3 million over 10 years, district consultant Weston Development Co. has estimated." http://www.cleveland.com/metro/index.ssf/2012/04/cleveland_school_district_revi.html Of note: "In seeking an appraisal, the district used Cleveland-based Hotel & Leisure Advisors to estimate the building's value for a hotel developer. The company estimated the property to be worth $8.5 million and said it could be used for a 225-room upscale hotel with a bar, restaurant and pool that would then be worth $35 million to $40 million." This building has for some reason always reminded me of the Fairmont San Francisco... I think it would make a great hotel!
  18. We already know this but the article gives some new information. http://www.crainscleveland.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20120413/FREE/120419910/0/frontpage

  20. WOW that was a loooong time...but a nice surprise to see them back!
  21. Glad to hear they're painting the garage. Regardless of your view on TK when I was looking at it the other day I was distracted by how run down the garage looked.
  22. What does something big like dlsney even mean??? Someone in the article was quoted as saying they need to do something BIG... like dlsney
  23. I was just thinking about this the other day... The Colonial Arcade especially needs some help with the Euclid entrance. It could use a fix up. But with Colossal Cupcakes and Nexus on both ends hopefully these two arcades can come back to life!
  24. What used to be in the empty space in 200 Public Square facing Superior? From the inside I can see a bar and a chandelier, looks like it may have been a restaurant?
