Are they referring to the conference that was to be held at Tower City about the casino an it's influence on retail? I was wondering what would be discussed there. Always talk about new retail coming to TC but still nothing real has been announced

I've started making note of great servers and I ask for them by name now when I make reservations. It's so hard to get a great server ANYWHERE but as far as these restaurants... Ask for Tessa or Kim at L'albatross. And Jeanette at Table 45. Still getting options for Chinato and Parallax...!

:? Torn on this... Its sad the May Co. Building is going from a department store to a parking garage... but it looks like it might involve restoring the outside, even the clock? Right now its not in the best of shape, especially the prospect side. I suppose its better than tearing the whole thing down for a parking lot :whip:

Does anyone know the condition of the interior of the Schofield? Are there any original touches left or were they lost as well?

Looking those plans from 09, I can't believe all the detail in the facade. This is going to take an incredible amount of work to bring back to what it looked like, even without the cornice. So much has been lost, its amazing they can even do it! Going to be spectacular when its all done, and relatively quickly it seems. By this time next year it could be nearing completion! Also, the crown hasn't been exposed yet. Judging by the drawings, again, there is a ton of detailed work up there. I wonder what kind of shape its going to be in when they remove the covering...

There have been a lot of rumors posted here about new stores coming, like "House of Hoops", and others had heard that certain stores had expressed interest in coming back to TC. Also there were plans to remodel the entrance to Tower City posted a while back. Anyone know any legit information about these stores being announced, or when the remodel will begin?

The Calfee preview event which was rescheduled for February has been canceled and I was refunded. The email said this was due to "ongoing construction" and they hoped to open to the public later in the year. Havnt been by lately but they must be behind schedule?

I believe the observation deck is only open seasonally during the weekends. It's currently closed for the season. I wonder if it has proven popular enough to be open year round, during the week and during evenings. Especially once the casino opens I think it could be a very popular attraction!

I didn't expect it to be on that level but I expected a top notch small aquarium. I enjoyed my visit but I was unfortunately expecting a different experience. I have to agree with the Yelp reviewers that every tank looks the same and not very realistic. There is just something missing, but I hope they continue to grow and improve. I think there is still potential.

I go there for a yearly convention and last year the Gull factor was just RIDICULOUS! A sea of feathers and diving birds everywhere... Haha this is fantastic. But where will these thousands of gulls make their new home...? Uh oh ;)

A random question: I was doing some research about the building at the entrance to the Loraine Carnegie Bridge and found the plans for the Western Reserve Fire Museum dating all the way back to like... 2005? Whats the current status with this?

Just a few more from the main tank...

I was at the Thursday Preview. The architecture of the Powerhouse is amazing. The aquarium is small, but the way its put into the Powerhouse is fascinating. I think to be competitive though, Phase II is a must. I was spoiled always going to the Monterey Bay Aquarium growing up in CA :-o but don't get me wrong, this aquarium is very unique! A side note: Not all the animals were there on Thursday. I know the octopus hadn't arrived, and as mentioned the water was still pretty cloudy. It made the main tank eerily impressive though! Here are some of my pictures.

Why was the Standard Building built the way it was? Was there or was there supposed to be a building behind it, like the Landmark Office Towers blank side?

I wonder what happened to the planned mural on the backside of the building. This is interesting news, it's such a fantastic building. Hope they can clean it up and further improve the look.

I had really good service at CLE a couple weeks ago. Both clerks were really friendly, I guess it's just hit or miss. Too bad. If they get a lot more merchandise and fix their service problems I think they could be really successful

That neighboring garage looks dangerously unsafe... Haha glad to see it covered up. Even if it's with... Another parking garage!
