Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
I have a question for the experts at UO! I have only lived here for 5 years so I don't know the answer. I came across some articles and pictures of a restaurant called "Century" which was a part of the Ritz Carlton. Can anybody tell me why/when it closed?

Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
"Cleveland RTA wants to bolster bus and rail routes in 2012, add trolley service for casino Published: Wednesday, November 16, 2011, 10:00 AM Updated: Wednesday, November 16, 2011, 10:07 AM CLEVELAND, Ohio -- RTA wants to boost its bus and rail service in 2012 and, if money is available, to offer free transit among popular stops downtown, like the Horseshoe Casino and rock hall. Northeast Ohio / Cleveland: General Transit Thread
Getting back to the article... I was very excited to read this. It addresses a number of things and solves many problems: removes the buses from public square to allow redevelopment, finally would develop a WHD parking lot, create a more pleasant environment for RTA riders, and best of all allow for retail AND housing. A lot of people on the board have been discussing housing downtown lately and so to finally see some possible progress is exciting! I hope this is done the right way because I think it could be great.

Happy 99 to the West Side Market! "West Side Market, at 99, could build stronger footing on sponsorships, marketing efforts Published: Wednesday, November 02, 2011, 6:00 AM Updated: Wednesday, November 02, 2011, 8:37 AM CLEVELAND, Ohio -- As the West Side Market marks its 99th birthday today, its backers are hoping private sponsors will shell out $5,000 to $250,000 for events related to the city landmark's centennial. Ohio City Inc. has started wooing potential corporate donors. And the neighborhood nonprofit expects to publicly launch a new logo, centennial-related materials and an electronic newsletter for the market today. Meanwhile, Cleveland City Council is weighing legislation that would give Ohio City Inc. control of marketing for the facility - a big step toward a public-private partnership to support the city-owned property." Just read an article on Cleveland.com about Stouffer's Top of the Town, and it got me wondering: what is the current status of the former restaurant area of Erieview Tower?? Is it sitting vacant or was the kitchen and restaurant disassembled? Wish it could return in some form... I wish I could've experienced it!

Wow, I've never heard anything about that. That would be an AMAZING hotel... I'm not sure what the layout allows, just thinking appearance-wise. Also, did anyone know there were such specific plans for the CLE Athletic Club? "After restoration and renovations, The Cleveland Athletic Club is proposed to convert to a 180-room full-service hotel. The proposed hotel would occupy floors 2 through 10. The Cleveland Athletic Club would occupy floors 11 through 15. The development would also include a Trader Vic’s Restaurant."
