  1. A lot of you are not going to be very happy :| "Cleveland officials OK casino parking center, skywalk to Higbee building Published: Friday, August 19, 2011, 2:56 PM Updated: Friday, August 19, 2011, 4:01 PM By Dave Davis, The Plain Dealer An artist's rendering of the skywalk that will bring casino-goers from a valet parking center into the second floor of the Horseshoe Casino Cleveland in the Higbee Building. CLEVELAND, Ohio--City officials Friday approved plans for a valet parking operation large enough to serve millions of visitors a year to a casino being built in the historic Higbee Building. But the fate of the most controversial part of the proposal, an 170-foot overhead skywalk that would connect the parking center to the historic former department store, now rests in the hands of state and federal officials." http://blog.cleveland.com/metro/2011/08/cleveland_officials_okay_casin.html
  2. I never thought I would hope E&Y Tower would be blocked SO MUCH!... haha
  3. Here is the view standing on Public Square
  4. The outside might be a little "vanilla" but these renderings are a BIG improvement over the last. Anything is better than nothing and right now there is nothing on that corner. Hopefully it will create activity without solely being a sea of cars and I don't think one restaurant will effect E. 4th. We need more restaurants and retail THROUGHOUT downtown and not all on E. 4th!

  6. I took a lot last Friday, thanks for making a thread for this! I'm curious what they will do to the Rotunda and the AT Tower/Building next to it when they leave. It looks so much better now! :-P and I love how they just kept the Schofield construction site as is, only made it a construction site in NYC! Also, anyone have pictures of what they're doing on Public Square?
  7. A few pictures from the Avengers set. Original post was from the Cleveland Trust Rotunda page All these changes do make me wonder what they'll do when they leave. I heard somewhere they've also added some lights and plants to public square, but I havn't seen it yet.
  8. I don't want to turn this into a movie discussion, but all these changes do make me wonder what they'll do when they leave. I heard somewhere they've also added some lights and plants to public square, but I havn't seen it yet. I wish they were REAL!!! Oh well its nice to pretend for a while
  9. Now that they've sprayed the Rotunda (CapitalOne Bank as it is now :-P) with black stuff, do you think they'll clean the whole building when the movie is done? It needs a good wash!
  10. Not to add to this yogurt craze but try BlueKiwi in Hudson! Its much better than Menchies, and the fruit is all freshly cut (not frozen and no 500 kids running their hands through the toppings!!! :-o) Altho I love BlueKiwi, I am surprised at how many of these Pinkberry-style places have popped up just in the last few months...wonder if we will ever actually get a Pink Berry?
  11. :-o Wow 800? What's the biggest hotel downtown... Wouldn't it be the Marriott or the Renaissance? I think both of those only have around 400 rooms.
  12. How big is a "convention-sized hotel" supposed to be? Isn't the Marriott at the MM/CC's doorstep? That is a pretty large hotel.
  13. From Friday the 16th, various views from the Library and street level. They poured the concrete pad later that night.
  14. As of Friday the 16th
  15. Wow, didn't even know this had opened yet! And I even walked by it a few weeks ago... need to go back!!
  16. This is the view from the GL Science Center, thought it was a unique perspective. Taken on Monday
  17. Now THIS is great news! Love his restaurants, Table 45 is one of my favorites. Just what Playhouse Square needs!
  18. Can't post the article right now but article on cleveland.com says same company listing 200 Public Square for sale just purchased 515 Euclid garage. Wonder what this means? Was the condo tower plan completely abandoned?
  19. Anyone have a picture of the sign? I thought the overhang sign above the door looked great. What sign are you talking about?
  20. New article on Cleveland.com with pics Cuyahoga County releases new images of medical mart and convention center, plus a first look at expansion Published: Tuesday, June 14, 2011, 4:00 PM Updated: Tuesday, June 14, 2011, 4:08 PM It's never too soon to think about the future. Plans for the $465 million project to build a medical mart and a new convention center in downtown Cleveland are ready for final review Thursday and Friday by the Downtown and Flats Cleveland Design Review Committee and City Planning Commission, respectively. But even before the project is built, Cuyahoga County and its business partner, MMPI Inc. of Chicago, are looking at a potential future expansion. http://blog.cleveland.com/architecture/2011/06/cuyahoga_county_releases_new_i.html
  21. Didn't know where to post this??? http://www.cleveland.com/business/index.ssf/2011/06/new_sign_on_public_square_hunt.html New sign on Public Square: Huntington Bank regional headquarters Published: Friday, June 03, 2011, 7:36 PM Updated: Friday, June 03, 2011, 10:44 PM CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The skyscraper at 200 Public Square, known as the BP building, finally has a name and logo after more than a decade. Huntington Bank on Friday unveiled the signage at its new Greater Cleveland regional headquarters in the 45-story office tower in downtown Cleveland during a ceremony at the historic Soldiers' and Sailor's Monument on Public Square. So I want to know whats going to happen to the old Huntington Building! We don't need another empty building on that corner. Any news?
  22. :-o woa, last time I drove by Tudor Arms it didn't look like they'd done ANYTHING to the outside. What a difference, new windows and the overhang! Can't wait to see it completed.
  23. Dont think anyone ever posted a picture, so here you go!
