  1. I was in Penzy's Spices today and they have a wall of glass showing the inside of the United Bank Building, which will be where Crop Bistro is relocating later this year. This space is amazing, can't wait to dine inside of it!
  2. I don't know where to post this, so I apologize in advance! With the new Casino being built and the improvements it will make to Huron, has there ever been any thought to improving the appearance of the Huron Rd. side of the Landmark Office Towers? I was looking at the area on Google Maps and couldn't help but notice that this side of the building is all loading doors and dumpsters! It looks very odd, making Huron look like a back alley. Why was the building designed this way? Could anything be done to improve its appearance? Because it is such a large and prominent building, it could use some "sprucing up". There is awesome Art Deco detail all over the building but it really doesn't stand out in it's current state. Are there any lights on it at night? Once again, sorry if this is posted in the wrong place!
  3. I definitely agree that the Mall should have an indoor/outdoor restaurant. I was recently in NYC and thought of the example of Bryant Park: The park is surrounded by trees and small sitting areas, and on the far side is the Bryant Park Grill. Granted, the outdoor part of the restaurant couldn't be used all year round, but if it was large inside as well, it would still be successful. Bryant Park used to be far more undesirable than the Mall, and it has completely turned around! In the winter months, they have an ice skating rink, and also have flower and holiday markets year round. Bryant Park and the Mall are, granted, different kinds of spaces, but the same I think if we used the same principles, the Mall could be just as vibrant.
  4. So this is unlikely, but I see that Ramona Robinson is doing the welcome for the groundbreaking tomorrow. Any chance this will be televised?
  5. Wow, moving right along! I will be able to take more pictures from the Key Club and Marriott Saturday and Sunday, hopefully more progress by then.
  6. Took these today from the Key Club above the Marriott. I was surprised to see so much activity!
