  1. Perhaps not earth-shattering for some, but a small victory at least for @mack34 @urbanetics_ and myself 😅. The long-dead Christmas lights around the median light-poles on Euclid are finally coming down.
  2. What a beautiful restoration! I was in the Music Hall for a concert in connection with Content Marketing World and was amazed at how beautiful the space was- even in disrepair. They did a nice job restoring the mall-facing side of Public Hall but the streetscape on Lakeside and St. Clair is largely left to random planters filled with weeds. This is such a great building- if only it was maintained.
  3. Once K&D is done with a building they do not often go back to make additional improvements. Otherwise the Halle Building would have a rooftop open by now lol...
  4. They really did plan this one RIGHT. Everything I usually am concerned about or that most developers miss, they have checked off. Really excited to see this project come to fruition, and look forward to phase 2 (which is being actively planned) as well as future projects from this team in Cleveland.
  5. Unfortunately for this particular project I dont think they will be buying that lot- just re-building the parking garage around it.
  6. I think these are the best looking construction so far in the whole area. They have a nice street presence and overall look way more substantial than what exists. Now if Superior could just get a road diet and a bikeway through the middle... imagine the transformation. Right now its like living on an empty freeway.
  7. They have a new restaurant planned for the space with a rooftop added.
  8. It would be SO nice to see that lot go away... it will be interesting to see what K&D ultimately intends to do here.
  9. I was told they intend to construct a new garage. I dont know if this is still the case, or what will become of that surface lot- but I assume that is owned by someone else? This should be a fun project to watch.
  10. I don't think they were ever as far as along as we believed they were a few months ago. I am also going to take the wait and see attitude. Its fun to get these scoops and rumors and reports and analyze them to death... but at the end of the day we dont know officially until something is official. I hope that will be relatively soon, for our own sanity... but I am not going to overreact just yet!
  11. Bank signage up. I know it’s probably not our first choice for retail but it will definitely be nice to have an active business here and it also have a nice nighttime presence. It does look like the corner door isn’t going to be used 🤨
  12. Very sad about this... Washington Place had such a great patio. What a bummer this will no longer be open to the public.
  13. Like @LlamaLawyer, I am perplexed by this quote: "Stunning, evocative of an East Coast especially New York-style of architecture. Very modern. Building height was about the size of the 200 Public Square but could be taller based on the angle of the rendering. There was a decorative element at the top but could've been for rooftop equipment." Especially when you combine that with the fact that in the image from @KJP the 'BOK' style tower is on the wrong lot. Seems odd that this would just be an oversight. @KJP How confident are you in the source from November that supposedly saw a 'stunning NYC style tower'? One thing we can agree on, this thread will never be boring right up to the end!! 😄
  14. Union Club goes first. PLEASE! 🙃🙏 Along with a re-skinning (or should I say DE-skinning) of the Sterling Building. Cannot wait for City Club to break ground! This is going to have a major major impact. Next time you walk by that lot, imagine a 20+ story building. it is going to be quite the visual!
  15. Baby steps for this part of town... overall I am very pleased to see the gas station redevelopment. While its not the sort of development we might drool over on UO 😄 it is a key gateway and a heavily used business. Right now it is pretty tired, including the Carnegie Ballroom. One day it would be nice to not view this stretch of Carnegie as such an outlier, but part of the downtown fabric. Like @jeremyck01stated above, that parking lot has got to go first for that to happen.
  16. Great stuff as always and a nice look back. We really did have an incredibly gorgeous summer, for such an off year. Hoping for another beautiful summer in 2021, and maybe one we can enjoy a little more!
  17. I hope if it does end up going to K&D that they do a proper restoration... this thing needs a TON of work. Like a full glass curtain replacement... not to mention that AWFUL parking structure / surface lot in the back and the empty John Q's. It could be a very unique property but it needs someone who is willing to put in the work. I have seen the building compared to NYC's Lever House, which was fully restored in the 90's with a new glass curtain. It would be nice to see that level of investment here.
  18. I fear this makes too much sense to be taken seriously by the city or RTA. But I hope this gets the traction it needs. Especially when you consider the possibility of a unified fleet you really start to see the potential upside.
  19. Whatever they are doing, it is working! EDIT: I just went back to compare to my past photos and I did not realize just how MUCH this worked. What a change. I wonder what this brown stuff is?
  20. Over the past few days they have continued installation of the new LED lights on Euclid Avenue. The new sidewalk lights really make an incredible difference... the old lights were so dim and barely provided any illumination. Walk down Euclid Avenue now and it is BRIGHT. Lets hope they can maintain these a little better...
  21. I believe these are just preliminary site plans, and not reflective of any final architecture and design.
  22. Wow, very surprised about the height and the hotel component. If the pandemic is under control by the time this opens, I could see a hotel being popular here. The amount of density in this area has grown at an incredible rate, and access to the Lakefront Bike Trail has increased pedestrian/bike activity exponentially. This corner of the intersection has become such a key spot... and now all eyes turn to Bobby George. Love this quote too: "I'm sure there are some people who will worry about traffic congestion. But the people in Northeast Ohio who worry about traffic congestion probably haven't spent much time outside Northeast Ohio." 🙃😁
  23. I was wondering the same... they dont mention waiting on the tax credit and talk about a two phased approach. Would be nice to get this moving.
