Cincinnati: Northside: American Can Factory Lofts
Ya that grass comment is pretty ridiculous. Northside is suburban. 1890's suburban, but suburban none the less. There are lawns and lots of 80 year old big trees and single family homes with fences. This is not OTR or downtown. Northside:

Non-Ohio Light Rail / Streetcar News
I'm getting pissed at Duke more and more. Why the hell can every other City in America have a streetcar within 8 feet of a Utility and we can't.

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
I stand by the "upscale Applebee's" comment, though I haven't eaten at one, either. Frankly, you could make that same argument about the Lager House if it weren't for the fact that it is not a chain and has an acclaimed chef there making a menu for the specific restaurant and overseeing the kitchen...both of which cannot be said about the Yard House. Poke around on their menus. I think you'll agree they are similar. I guess Applebee's is "American Fusion". LOL. http://www.yardhouse.com/menus/house-favorites.aspx http://applebees.com/menu/sizzling-entrees Alright- If you're saying you put Appleby's and the Lager House in the same category than you are just going to put anything that isn't Japanese, Chinese, Indian or a straight up McDonalds in that category.

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
So there's been a lot of debate lately on the blags about local vs. national. Right now, the Banks (& riverfront park) have: Crave (regional) Tin Roof (regional) Johnny Rockets (national) Ruth's Chris (National) Yard House (National) Wine Guy (local) Mahogany's (local) Moerlein Lager House (Local) Holy Grail (Local) That's not a horrible balance. If anything, I think the attach shouldn't be a local vs. national, but that they are all basically the same type of food. American. American Fusion. German American. American Sports Bar. etc. Mahagony's is really the only difference, and it's still not a huge difference. It will be american, but in a much more southern style. I'm not really complaining, because we do love our general american fare here, and I'm sure I'll love all those places once they open, but it is a bit interesting to note.

Behold: The nicest "Appleby's" ever built-

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
WKRC had an incredibly positive piece on the Banks. Also, they had some facts wrong... but it wasn't too bad. Overall The Banks has gotten great coverage in the last year. Does anyone know when: Tin Roof, Wine Guy & Mahogany's are going to open!? I don't think they are even under construction. I've seen a lot of work at Crave and am under the impression it will be opening in about a month, but haven't seen any work in those other three locations.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Smale Riverfront Park
Speaking of Phases- You can see that they've already changed the plan a little bit. The Main Street fountain will be completed in a few weeks yet it was originally going to be part of Phase 3. Hopefully Phase 2 starts soon!

Cincinnati: Corryville: The Village at Stetson Square
New pictures posted on the Biz Courier confirm that this is the Eden Ave & Donahue Block.
-
Cincinnati: Corryville: The Village at Stetson Square
^ they are doing the block at Eden & Donahue st. 2920 Eden is the only building that is coming down. The wonder that is CAGIS shows that that is the block they own.
-
Cincinnati: Downtown: Smale Riverfront Park
^ I believe they aren't coming down until the grand opening on May 18.

Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
^ looking at a map of the entire route Henry really is the BEST if not only option for this structure. I think that vote was just him supporting his Westside base.
-
Cincinnati: Corryville: The Village at Stetson Square
There is one building on the whole block, and it was built in 1955 (source: Auditor's website). According to CAGIS there were two other buildings on the block, but they were torn down at least 7 years ago.

Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Development and News
^ you're joking yes? Mixx is the busiest & popular black bar downtown. Never gay, not hipster.

Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Development and News
Ok, you're right. We should clarify, this will be a shooting & gun free sushi bar. Now they're different! :)

Cincinnati: Downtown: Smale Riverfront Park
I just looked again, Santa Monica road bike is $55, cincinnati's is $60. That's a lot considering there's minimal bike infrastructure downtown.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Smale Riverfront Park
http://bikeandpark.com/city/cincinnati/ride-for-fun Click the rates tab I also just noticed that they have a "arts and parks" bike route that says from downtown, take reading to mt Adams. That sounds like a horrible idea for casual bikers looking for a relaxing scenic ride especially Gilbert has the bike lanes. Am I overthinking the chaos and difficulty of biking up Reading along the casino construction? Someone on here who is an avid cyclist should really try their four suggested routes. If they're bad someone should let them know, I have a feeling they weren't designed by locals.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Smale Riverfront Park
Just looked up the new bike rental rates for Cincinnati bike center. The company that is managing it is charging more by about five dollars per rental in Cincinnati then they charge at their Santa Monica location. Dont the LA people usually have the higher rates??

Cincinnati City Council
Ya- I didn't realize that somehow. Edited my statement.

Cincinnati City Council
Poor article- and no offense at all to the Cincinnati Blog, which I read regularly, but the fact that the author pitted random quotes from past blog pages against politically phrased quotes from Finney was horrible reporting. It actually made Smitherman look better because no one likes extreme rhetoric. I wish they would have quoted Geri from the Buzz who said (paraphrased) "why wasn't Smitherman having the NAACP address black on black crime during the last 5 years? Why were they waisting their resources on streetcar petitions while black people are dying." on the air the other day. EDIT: somehow I didn't realize those CincyBlog quotes were just taken from the website & thought they were reap quotes. I've edited my statement to criticize the author instead

Cincinnati: Restaurant News & Info
OCtoCincy replied to The_Cincinnati_Kid's post in a topic in Restaurants, Local Events, & Entertainment^very interesting. If they renovated & reopened, with the new Boca, 21C & everything else happening right there they could be great.
