  1. Email Berding and CC the other council members to tell them.
  2. ^ ya I'll agree with that- at the same time, it was hist first veto since he was elected- and perhaps, the first veto of a strong mayor ever- Did Charlie Luken ever veto anything? If not, this is the cities first veto... not a particularly impressive one...
  3. Explain too small- If I'm standing on a street corner I can read the signs that are about a block ahead of me. I'm not sure how much larger they are supposed to be...
  4. Why is this WTF? I actually agree with his Veto since only 5 members of council approved it- It was a "rule change" and that requires 6 members to approve it.
  5. What is the budget for the downtown-otr loop? $108 million? Don't we have $90 something in place? I wish someone had the headline: Census results show Cincinnati population loses almost 10% of population since failure of MetroMoves Rail initiative.
  6. Anyone see the St. Patty's day parade? Any word on the candidates who were there??
  7. ^ hopefully the public comment section got a lot of support for streetcars-- Everyone one this blog should have written an email or two!
  8. The blue-ish building looks way better in that picture than in real life... the paint on it is kind of mehh
  9. ^ and 3CDC has on their website that they are developing 5th&Race
  10. I called-
  11. OMG THAT IS SO AWESOME.
  12. I would disagree with not connecting to the banks- Yes, there is less development potential there, but you need it to connect to the rest of the undeveloped areas. Parking at the banks and hopping on the streetcar has always been a major goal. How much is saved by leaving off vine street-
  13. PLEASE call governor Kasich's office: (614) 466-3555 I just left a voicemail.
  14. Lastly- Edale, I'd love to know if your professor feels every highway in America should be a toll road. Surely, he must also feel that the federal gas tax MUST be raised dramatically since it doesn't cover the actual cost of interstate construction and maintenance and highways get a massive subsidy. If not... I'm guessing when he was a kid he really wanted a train set, all of his friends got it but he didn't - and now he hates transit.
  15. UGH- sometimes I get so anxious and want to fast forward to 2018 when the entire banks & riverfront park development will be one!
  16. ^ in many of the cities it is true.... because since the economic crash of 2008 most cities have cut their bus systems because cities stopped/cut back on providing money to local transit agencies. With less bus routes, you get less riders... period. Almost ALL cities of a decent size have had declines- most people use transit to go to work- no jobs, no riding. Most systems have cut routes and services. Less routes, less riders. Regardless of rail this is true. What school are you at!
  17. Turning it into a restaurant- will open after renovations... They better not TOUCH the bar room. It's so beautiful/original.
  18. ^ See the tall building against nuxhall in this image: Also- any word on when they may begin to construct the townhouses that line the event lawn?
  19. Waiting for approval of the environmental scan- Hope is by the end of the month.
  20. ^ I heard that too- about 6PM this evening. Pretty pathetic if it's true. Hoping it's not.
  21. ^ A 10 story hotel will line Nuxhall way from Freedom way to the event lawn.... eventually.
  22. ^ technically he had his formal announcement about 3 weeks after posting $105,000. His father is the former CEO of the Fine Arts Fund (artswave) so I'm sure there are plenty of connections there. I'm fairly sure PG is 26- he came back from grad school in Oxford 2 years ago after four years at Harvard for his undergrad.
