I hate when people use the word gay in a demeaning way. Like, OMG, that's soooooo gay. There's a girl at work who does it constantly. She knows that I'm bisexual, and it doesn't seem to phase her one bit. I also hate when people use retarded to explain something.

Just curious if anyone is headed to Cleveland Pride this year? Or have you gone before? I've never been and I'm really excited!

I'm so excited! I'm going to be an Aunt! My baby brother and his g/f are expecting their first baby!
  6. Anything with John Travolta (pre Grease and Welcome Back Kotter) and Tom Cruise.
  7. Can I just say that I am so glad that I moved west? Seriously, the last 5 months have been some of the most fun that I've had in YEARS. I'm learning about things that I didn't even know existed until I moved. Thank you UO for pointing me in the right direction!
  8. I finally had my Summer Shandy. Now mind you, I found it at Target, so it was in a bottle, and I thought it was ok. Nothing super duper wonderful about it. I actually prefer (and forgive me if I get the name wrong), Samuel Adams Noble Pils. I'm not a beer expert or anything, but it had the same citrusy notes that the shandy did. It was good, but everyone at work built up this hype about it, and for me, it didn't live up to the hype.
  9. Kenilworth has it on tap. Thanks! I may have to hit it up this weekend!
  10. Anyone know where I can get Leinenkugel's Summer Shandy on draft in or around Lakewood? I tried Winking Lizard, google search, and came up with nothing. Thanks!

I really enjoy raunchy comedy. Lonely Island is hilarious, Margaret Cho, anyone who is dirty and raw and twisted makes me laugh so freaking hard.
  12. Awesome! Good to know!
  13. Anyone been to Amp 150?

I'm so excited. I just got back from a meeting with the Lakewood Observer people, and it was awesome. They actually want me to contribute!

Question for ya'll: Does anyone know anything about the neighborhood that St. Martin de Porres HS is in? There's an event there tomorrow that I'd like to attend, but I don't know ANYTHING about the neighborhood.

I'm currently looking for a "better opportunity". One that is closer to home is key, if I can take public transit, that's even better. I have a B.A. in a liberal arts area, love writing and books, have plenty of office skills, and just looking for something different. Any suggestions?

It looks as though CPL and Clevnet have a new website and catalog system, that allows you to have recommendations, suggestions, messaging other borrowers, etc. It SEEMS like a cool concept, but I just have to figure out how to use it. I hate when things change!

Now I'm watching The United States of Tara. So good. I've loved Toni Colette since Muriel's Wedding and this show is AMAZING!

That's the thing that's so fascinatiing, at least to me. That was only, what, 50 years ago. I was shocked at first, but then I remembered the time frame of the show, and realized that that's what it was LIKE. We've come a long way baby, but yet still have so far to go!

Soooooo excited. I just had my cell phone company change my # with a 216 area code! YAY!
  21. Anyone eaten at Zanzibar in Shaker Square? I saw they have Kool-Aid on the menu!
  22. Thanks for all the advice. I'm really looking forward to exploring the area. This is all so new to me, and it's just fascinating. I think I'm going to try and make a day out of it!
  23. I have another RTA related question. First of all, I'm so proud of myself. I went and took the Rapid, downtown, BY MYSELF on Saturday and explored the CPL. This is a first for me, so this is MAJOR and huge. Ok, I want to go to Loganberry Books this weekend, but I'm sort of unfamiliar with SH. I know I take the Red Line to the E34th station, and then the waterfront line, is that correct? I looked it up on google maps, I just want to double check with all my urban friends. I'm loving the public transportation thing, and it makes me feel so urban. Much better than Lake County and Laketran.
  24. Either TV, movies, or books, who are you in love with in fiction? For me, it's Don Draper from Mad Men and Dolores from She's Come Undone by Wally Lamb.
  25. I'm feeling adventerous, and would like to do some exploring along the Red Line tomorrow. I plan to stop at the Market early in the morning, and was wondering what points of interest are east of there. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks!
