  1. What happened to the proposed 18 story tower at the site of the childrens museum? Any clue?
  2. Does anyone else see the irony in clamouring for foot traffic and at the same time saying that a pie-in-the-sky idea that moves people around via a ridiculous gondola would be good for Cleveland? How about the city focuses on making the streets livable, walkable, and connected rather than looking up to the sky.
  3. $1 million per year for 208,000 sq ft is too pricey? I love the move. A historic building gets filled and the county doesn't spend a ton in the process. http://www.cleveland.com/cuyahoga-county/index.ssf/2013/07/cuyahoga_county_to_rent_storage_space_in_halle_warehouse_as_part_of_consolidation.html What planet do you live on where $1,000,000 a year for 200k SF in a incorrectly repurposed building is a good deal? $5/sf is a HUGE number, even for NEW industrial space. This is a goddamn joke
  4. Only if you include your social security number and DOB in the photo
  5. They don't own it, that building sold last year for ~$375,000 IIRC
  6. At long last there's a chipotle going downtown, next to noodlecat
  7. there are train (rapid) tracks there
  8. You can find a description of the space here: http://issuu.com/mmpi/docs/prospectuscc?mode=embed&layout=http%3A%2F%2Fskin.issuu.com%2Fv%2Flight%2Flayout.xml&showFlipBtn=true thats the first time I have seen a "pool" in any of the renderings showing the mall
  9. That seriously looks incredible, I thought it was a rendering at first
  10. i believe most assumed 24/7 operation. If they do have closing hours, that could be a real pain with everyone leaving at the same time. I assumed that, too. But I haven't seen anything directly related to it (without having to actually go through what was voted on). Okay I was just thinking, it is really weird we haven't heard much on hours of operation. Isn't it a pretty big deal to have such an unprecedented 24 hour operation in the heart of the city? The large number of late/all night visitors should completely change the personality of downtown. I think the issue is ripe for a PD article. http://www.horseshoe.com/info/cleveland/careers_faq.html#5
  11. And I disagree with that. I listed studies here on why Cleveland is the most undeserved luxury market in the States. We have more people spending money via the Internet, more than any other city at luxury brands. zip codes 44120, 44122, 44118 & 44022 spend more money on luxury goods via the Internet than any other big city market. We dont have the brick and mortar stores in a centralized location like Boston, Philly (CBD or Suburban), ATL (suburban), Houston (suburban) to support the stores as of yet. The money is here, the retail location(s) is(are) not as of yet. link me to this study?
  12. sorry for the cell phone pic http://i.imgur.com/b9YTk.jpg
  13. http://www.funderscollaborative.org/sites/default/files/University%20Hospitals%20Health%20System-%20The%20Anchor%20Institution%20View.pdf I've never seen an image of phase 2 before this
  14. This project is not as far out as people might think :) OK, you're not allowed to tease here! You're going to have to tell us more than that. :whip: K&D. http://www.crainscleveland.com/article/20120116/SUB1/301169977&template=mobile
  15. that might be the ugliest rendering I have seen in my entire life
  16. What are you hinting at? that the downtown YMCA is moving from Prospect to the galleria
  17. wouldn't it be cool if the YMCA decided to move from Prospect to the Galleria?
  18. There was discussion here whether or not the harvest moon installation on that building was going to go through or not, and it is actually under construction right now, tried to take a picture saturday night but it was too dark out for it
  19. I don't know why you guys need to be a dick to the guy, but if you check the google cache they edited the article. The opening line used to read " Cuyahoga County will use its share of casino taxes to remake Cleveland's lakefront, county Executive Ed FitzGerald said today in his second State of the County speech."
  20. Its not that much of a secret, its on ohiocity.orgs website. I for one don't have a strong opinion either way. I see benefits in it moving forward and I also can see problems it could create, but I don't have strong feelings either way. Here is the PDF, http://ohiocity.org/media/HousingFirst_Materials_Websitesmaller.pdf
  21. City council was talking about the lakefront plan today...anyone know the nature of the discussion?
  22. http://blog.cleveland.com/metro/2011/12/lots_to_be_done_at_higbee_befo.html?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter wow, this video shows its connectivity to tower city, I know it's stupid but I didn't realize it would open directly into tower city, I feel like that's huge
