Cleveland: Downtown: Tower City / Riverview Development
Interesting...they do an awful lot of work in Moscow. A lot of office and residential construction it seems.

Cleveland: Cleveland State University: Development and News
Cleveland State University's historic Mather Mansion has reopened for events "Cleveland State University has completed about $2.7 million in renovations to the 43-room Tudor mansion. It will house several university departments, including alumni relations, a program to teach English as a second language and conference services. Rooms on the first and second floors are available for rent for meetings and conferences beginning Oct. 1. The third floor ballroom is not renovated." http://www.cleveland.com/metro/index.ssf/2015/09/cleveland_state_universitys_hi.html#incart_river

Oh boy...Cedar North in 'downtown' South Euclid: Developer to build new retail, restaurant plaza to replace Marc's strip mall in South Euclid "In a design similar to Cedar Center North, the grocer will anchor the new retail center at the back of the site, with a parking lot in front and two side buildings, Mayor Georgine Welo said in a press release Thursday." http://www.cleveland.com/lyndhurst-south-euclid/index.ssf/2015/09/developer_to_build_new_retail.html#incart_river

Cleveland - Ohio City, East Cleveland, and Little Italy 8/15/15
Thanks. And the project is really just a creative outlet for me, nothing serious and definitely not something that will happen for a long time (if ever). So far all I've really done is create a site plan/map of redevelopment opportunities centered around the Superior Rapid Station, created a database of properties I'm interested in, and did a property survey of the project sites, which can be partially seen above. Some of the pictures I did not share are intended to help me draw the massing/site elevations for the project. Interesting! We've been looking at East Cleveland recently for investment as well.

Cleveland: Jay Avenue Lofts
Yea Whiskey Grade is open. I didn't think to look up the last time I walked by there. The article about the store in May said the owner was doing 'eight large apartments' above. http://www.cleveland.com/business/index.ssf/2015/05/whiskey_grade_store_in_clevela.html

Cleveland: MetroHealth Medical Center
Yea...I was thinking the same thing the other day. That area has a lot of potential and good bones.

Cleveland: Flats East Bank
By the way...if you love a fun crowd and sing-a-longs....Big Bang was actually pretty fun. It's no Pat O'briens in Nawlens but we had a blast and it was just a Thursday night...we may or may not have made it rain on the performers. There were annoying pedestrian restrictions so we couldn't check out the boardwalk :/

Then don't allow it to fall into decline. Work with the city and police and neighborhood blocks to help control crime. Active communities are necessary.

That'll be a nice change for that intersection!

Cleveland: Downtown: Euclid & 9th Tower / Schofield Building Redevelopment
The twitter account is working but I'm getting a "no data received" message when trying to open the website. The website is working now. Floor plans are available but there is no pricing listed. Sounds amazing! More excited about these than The 9 apartments.

Cleveland: Flats East Bank
I'm kind of confused by the two stories. In the one quoted above it says there's currently a waiting list even though there are available spaces (maybe not the spaces they want?) and then in the new story it says they're not starting phase 3 until phase two is leased? It looks like there's just over 34000 square feet available in five spaces for phase 2. It seems more like they want to be in a better position with leasing of the apartments. On that note, taking 243 and 100 from the 1000 apartment 'estimate' gives about 219 units for each of the last three buildings.

I was wondering if that was a dig at you haha. Not every suburbanite is the same and I don't think that we should cater to those that are "scared" but having things that include them too makes a well rounded downtown. As long as the density is there, I don't see an issue.

Cleveland: Downtown & Vicinity Residences Discussion
Growing Population helps Downtown Cleveland attract Business, retail "The Downtown Cleveland housing market is struggling to keep up with the increasing demand. Despite adding 350 units over the last year, apartment occupancy remains high at 97.5 percent with most vacancy attributable to a seasonal drop-off in university students, faculty, and staff living downtown over the summer months. Over 1,800 people are on waiting lists for downtown housing as of the end of Q2. Even as new housing developments command lease rates over $2.00 per square foot, the average one bedroom rental rate of $1,000 per month remains affordable for a high percentage of Cleveland households. Condominium sales are also on the rise with the average sale price rising from $228,771 and $164.68 per square foot in Q2 2014 to $342,140 and $226.79 per square foot this past quarter." http://downtowncleveland.com/media/249074/q2_2015-final.pdf

Cleveland: Retail News
Good riddance! Hopefully all of these moves and updates pay off soon with more upscale retail. Dude, it's a food court. I don't think they're courting any Michelin restaurants for its spot, and they shouldn't. It's a loss for the mall which has seen quite a few due to General Growth's negligence in informing them of skyrocketing taxes and frankly a very shortsighted, if not corrupt, school board that pressured both the county board of revision and eventually the board of tax appeals that they wanted MO MONEY!!!! And here's the result: lots of holes in a once thriving mall. Dude, I'm aware. I was speaking of the mall as a whole, not the food court. The storefronts have been updated around the mall and they are moving them around.

I went to the iPic theater while living in South Florida and the food was mediocre and way overpriced. The reclining chairs were nice but after two cocktails I fell asleep and missed my overpriced movie lol.

I feel like you're at the dentist all the time! Nice and healthy teeth. it will be interesting to see if there is more of an impact when this is topped out. It's hidden by most views at this height.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
I also like SoLo (even though it's unimaginative and overused throughout cities). I think the only thing with all of this additional branding is, there isn't going to be an Ohio City soon.

For something "so important" one would think it would have been a little sooner than nearly three years. Glad they're finally repairing the damage.

It will be so nice to see that block filled in and even nicer to see Detroit fill in to Lakewood.

Cleveland: Downtown: The Centennial (925 Euclid Redevelopment)
Huntington had a retail branch there in the 90s, which I went out of my way to patronize. The lobby was so amazing that I felt embarrassed about the insignificance of my transactions. One day, I thought, I will stroll in here and deposit ten grand. $9,900. You don't want to have to deal with the forms lol.
