Cleveland: Flats East Bank
This one is really reminding me of a wider Avenue district now. Maybe I've just been away too long.

Cleveland: Opportunity Corridor Boulevard
It's true...such a mess! When I lived downtown, it was very easy to take public transit to work. After I moved to Florida and nothing was available in the city anymore, I had to move to CH coming back and now it's nearly impossible to take transit. I know for my company, they try to keep it at the center of the majority of workers and as cheap as possible as well. While it would be nice for our company to move there, I don't see it happening as we only have around 100 call center/back office processing staff and 150+ other staff, most of which are higher earners. The office was downtown prior to M&A which ultimately brought us to Independence. I do like the idea of call center type jobs in the OC, but seems unlikely for companies with in-house call centers who do not want additional real estate expenses.

Cleveland: Opportunity Corridor Boulevard
My company has been hiring for call center and struggling to fill the open positions. They were trying for a class of 10 I believe a few months ago and were only able to get 4 qualified applicants. They're trying again for July. It seems pretty standard here in CLE...there are jobs available but nobody to take them. Where are these jobs located, and what is the pay range? Our office is in Independence. I believe they start at $30,000 a year and great benefits....401k match, cheap insurance and starting with 4/5 weeks vacation plus holidays.

Hopefully lol.

Cleveland / Lakewood: The Edge Developments
By your definition then, this is a transition area. It's moving from single family on Clifton and the first few houses on Lake to the multi-story apartment buildings less than ten houses down. On top of that, I don't understand why a neighborhood that has had pretty negligible development would want to turn down something that is going to continue to INCREASE property values and provide additional tax base.

And to bring it here of all places lol.

Cleveland: Tremont: Development and News
Wow! If those sell, we have arrived... They start at 270...much more affordable price point. There are multiple townhouses that have sold in the mid 350's in Tremont.

It's gonna feel like Miami! Can't wait to be back.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
Nice! Once completed, three of the four corners will be built up to the street.

Cleveland: Downtown: nuCLEus
I was about to ask do you think stark would be willing to include some condo's, maybe on the top floor? This way he could have those pre-sales to maybe entice lenders... I'd be curious to see how condos would do now. I keep reading articles about how the downtown area doesn't have condos like the inner ring suburbs do for the empty-nesters. It's like someone just needs to take the first plunge and prove if it's feasible or not, but nobody wants to stick their neck out.

Findlay: Random Development and News
Very impressive for a city of its size. Now why the heck isn't there more development talk/streetscaping?! Findlay now firing on all cylinders "Findlay and Hancock County are coming off a year in which a number of companies announced or completed significant development projects that will add hundreds of jobs. McLane Co. Inc., a Texas grocery supplier, announced it would spend $119 million on a distribution center. Marathon Petroleum Corp., which last year was No. 25 on the Fortune 500 list, embarked on an $80 million expansion of its downtown headquarters. Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. moved ahead with a $40 million project to build a global technology center next to its headquarters. Based on those investments and others, Site Selection magazine named Findlay as the most active small city in the United States for development projects last year. The magazine counted 20 new or expanded corporate facilities that involved an investment of at least $1 million, added at least 20 jobs, or created 20,000 square feet of new corporate space." http://www.toledoblade.com/Economy/2015/03/22/Findlay-now-firing-on-all-cylinders.html#QyvU130RvExdAtmf.99

Cleveland: Retail News
Shame, I always thought of University Square as a nice, unique building. It was basically a shopping center but creatively hid the parking while still be accessible to stores. Sad to see it struggle, I always thought it would be a great idea to have something like that within the city limits especially with rail connected to it. It's a gem compared to Dadeland Station. I avoid this place like the plague. http://www.berkowitzdevelopment.com/Dadeland%20Station/dadeland.php

Another Dumb-a$$ List / Ranking of Cities
There are very few cities I would consider aside from Cleveland. Minneapolis, Boston, NYC, Philley, Cinci, Denver, Seattle, Portland....and some of those are even questionable.

Cleveland: Downtown: nuCLEus
That would be awesome!

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
And, we can add, was fully leased at opening.

Cleveland: Downtown: Hilton Cleveland
I was thinking the same thing as the pics were taken from Justice Center. I assumed it was first-hand sight that was being brought up.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
People sure don't have an issue one block down paying over $1,000 a month to live so close to Lakeview...I doubt these will either.

Cleveland: University Circle (General): Development and News
University Circle edge site gets three developer proposals, raising prospect of hotels and more "Three developer teams are competing for control of a high-profile site on Chester Avenue, raising the prospect of housing, offices, a hotel and other uses at the northwest edge of University Circle. * Chester Ventures LLC, a partnership between Clayco Realty Group, the Koman Group and Hospitality Specialists, Inc. * UC City Center LLC, a joint venture between the Orlean Co. of Beachwood and a local investor group called Midwest Development Partners. * DelMonte Hotel Group" http://www.cleveland.com/business/index.ssf/2015/03/university_circle_edge_site_ge.html#incart_m-rpt-1

Cleveland: East Side Neighborhood Development
I forgot about this article back on 2/25: single-family homes, nature center and container park eyed for kinsman/colfax neighborhood "The proposal will populate the Colfax corridor between East 79th Street to just west of East 69th Street with 40 single-family residential units ranging from 1,850- to 2740-square feet. The structures will range from single-story ADA accessible units to three-story homes with a basement." http://freshwatercleveland.com/devnews/kinsmancolfax022515.aspx And lots of good stuff in the Master Plan: http://www.bbcdevelopment.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Kinsman-presentation-forweb.pdf

Cleveland: Westown-Jefferson: Development and News
It's been a while since we've heard anything on the Variety Village... once-dazzling variety theatre set for rebirth as new lorain avenue anchor "Current construction plans, which were put together about a year ago, call for extensive plumbing work and renovation. The apartments are to remain as such and the 300-seat balcony is slated to become a venue for a large-screen theatre. Specific plans for the orchestra pit, main stage and theatre space are pending. The characterization of the reborn Variety, however, will be one friendly to original musicians and grassroots music production." http://freshwatercleveland.com/devnews/varietytheater030415.aspx

Cleveland: East Side Neighborhood Development
Wow...it's only taken quite a few years to get the rest of that block filled in. Hopefully this is the start of a resurgence of interest there.

Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway: Battery Park
I have a question for you (for your friends)? and probably rhetorical (I don't really expect an answer) why would they name this place like they did. The good folks in battery park spend a great deal of time and energy to remove graffiti.. It seems like a very aggressive name to give to a bar/restaurant to an area that has been and continues to be confronted by this urban quality of life issue. It strikes me as a very "stick in the eye" thing to do. There's a difference between tagging and artistic graffiti. Look up Wynwood in Miami to see how huge this new graffiti movement is.

Cleveland: Flats Developments (Non-Stonebridge or FEB)
So, interesting paragraph in this article. Is this in line with the property sales that were brought up? "Jacobs said Jacobs Investments is preparing a new master plan for Nautica in the Flats, 1231 Main Ave., which is expected to focus on residential development. He did not provide additional details. Jacobs Investments is based in North Palm Beach, Fla., and continues to maintain an office in the Flats."

Cleveland: Cleveland Institute of Art Expansion
I think the exciting piece of that article was they will be able to add future floors if needed in the future.
