  3. Has anyone seen site work at 2058/2060 W 26th St? I just happened to see it on a link provided in the Tremont thread: http://www.makeroffice.com ..... Two more lots down. The 3110 Bridge property looks awesome too...hope it happens!
  4. Tremont proper includes the areas south of 490; if you're only talking about the designated historic district north of 490 and east of West 14th, your assessment isn't too far off. That's exactly what I meant. Tremont is actually a large neighborhood. The portion most people consider Tremont is not so huge. There do seem to be some lots left in the alleys and such as pointed out, but as we've seen, they're disappearing quickly. There are still some less than desirable properties in the neighborhood...I'm sure those will go before major spillover happens, but who knows?!

  6. Me and our mutual friend went on a walking tour of Playhouse Square and immediate areas last week. One of the things mentioned was this years holiday event (tree lighting, etc) will actually be held there at the intersection of East 14th and Euclid instead of Public Square. Is that "ASAP" enough. Nice!! p.s. they picked a good replacement locale for sure. Especially since they usually have a decent sized tree there anyway and we've already seen (well some of us :cry:) that larger events can occur in that vicinity.
  7. I don't know about the general housing stock, but there are some decent buildings that front Detroit. And if I recall correctly, there's a big empty lot across from Cocktails (could be wrong, haven't been there in a while), and that could be ripe for a Battery Park-esq development if that stretch starts to improve. But I think in order for the neighborhood to connect on the west side, something needs to be done with that Happy's Pizza and Burger King (next to the soon-to-be Local West). If that whole lot could be demolished and turned into some apartments with retail, it could be a game changer. I agree. We have the block of buildings just east and then it dies around Lake. I did a street level view and as of a few years ago, the housing looks decent. Definite opportunities for redevelopment and lots of brick apartment buildings. I don't see Happy's going anywhere as they just built it a few years ago I think (unless it was a reno) and the empty land you speak of is Trinity West I believe which has been available for quite some time.

    While we're still in Florida, it makes it more difficult to network, but I know from past experience that there are a lot of young lawyers involved with DCA and other downtown groups. I passed along the piece of the bio and he is a member of BALSA (Black American Law Student Society) and was the former president of LAMBDA (Legal Gay Straight Alliances), but he's afraid to list those not knowing how conservative the higher-ups may be and not really knowing the Cleveland area. Down here in South Florida, it's very accepting in nearly every profession.

    Thank you! Yes, he's licensed in NJ, FL and VA and still has to sit for the OH bar and has no ties to the Cleveland area. It sounds very similar to the South Florida market, so not the greatest of news haha. I will definitely pass that along though! He's worked with a few recruiters and headhunters as well.
  11. It's gonna take quite a few "pioneers" or it would need to be a rapid flip. There's quite a bit of crime and such in that stretch. I don't remember the housing stock very well...Google Maps here I come.
  12. I'm not sure if there are any members of the legal community in this forum, but my partner is currently looking for jobs and not seeing many postings. He has questioned whether it's an unhealthy legal market in Cleveland or if they have different ways of recruiting talent, etc. Any insights would be appreciated.

  15. Downtown has it's first dog park. Now a couple more and each area of downtown would be covered. That wasn't ruff: Downtown Cleveland Alliance, partners raise enough funds to build downtown's first outdoor dog park "Construction on the park began this week. DCA estimates it will be complete “within a few weeks.” It will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 13, for dogs and their humans. The dog park is in Settler’s Landing Park, an open area adjacent to the RTA station on the eastern bank of the Cuyahoga River.   16. It's been my experience that nearly every downtown building (at least recent conversions or buildings I've been in) do not have windows that open.

This is a tragic line-up and whoever thinks these run of the mill establishments will cause people to go to Liberty Center vs Kenwood who don't live in the immediate area need their heads examined.
