  1. Has anyone found the final building height? I can't find it listed anywhere!
  2. I can't speak for always and of course there have been beautiful schools; however, I wouldn't say they are or have ever been the majority.

    >>> I spent much of last Saturday at Edgewater and was impressed. It's really beautiful. I walked down to the smaller beach west of the main beach and this area didn't seem to have been cleaned yet. It was covered with driftwood and quite a bit of litter actually... There's a sewer outflow grate there and there was trash in the water by it. Does anyone know the area I'm talking about? Hopefully it's addressed soon because the rest of the park looks AMAZING. <<< This is the section I always go to and was going to say the same thing. I haven't seen the cleaned up beach because there are way too many people there for my liking. Even the "beach rangers" do not run their ATV's over to that section of the beach. They go about as far as the sewer grate and turn around.
  4. Compared to the nothing that's currently there, it's a step up. School's aren't typically known for their design...it's pretty much what one would expect (but it is definitely a lazy rendering).
  5. Hazel 8 only has three units left according to a Facebook post.
  6. Question, why would TJ's be preferred over a local Heinen's? Just my personal preference.
  7. I was wondering which grocer was doing the focus group. I got an email last week requesting volunteers for it. A Trader Joe's would be preferred but I don't see that happening anytime soon.
  8. With over 600 new apartment units at increasing rates, there was only a .5% decrease in downtown occupancy. Also, very positive condo sale/resales: http://www.downtowncleveland.com/media/88457/Q2_2013_FINAL.pdf
  9. A lot of great news in the quarterly updates: "Highlights from the quarter illustrate Downtown’s accelerating momentum: • Completion of more than $600 million of investments, including the new Cleveland Convention Center, Aloft Hotel and Ernst & Young Tower • Announcement of more than $500 million of new investments, led by “The M at E. 9th” and a new convention center hotel • Office occupancy of more than 80 percent, including a 90 percent lease rate at the new Ernst & Young Tower • Positive net absorption of more than 67,000 square feet in the office market, marking positive net absorption in eight of the last nine quarters • Apartment occupancy of 96.5 percent as the market absorbs new units as rapidly as they become available • Opening of 31 new restaurants and shops so far in 2013, with 22 more on the way in 2013 and 2014 • Booking of 70 conventions and conferences and more Downtown visitors in 2013 than in several decades" http://www.downtowncleveland.com/media/88457/Q2_2013_FINAL.pdf
  10. It seems work is finally beginning on the old Ferro Corp building on Lakeside. I've been away for a month so I need to make my development rounds to see progress :D
  11. ^^^As long as it's more like the RR location than the Avon Lake location. There is not a single thing that impresses me about the AL outpost which is strange because I really like the RR one.
  12. I wonder if it is replacements or all new positions. It did say "expanded tables".
  13. A place called Tops and Bottoms...a Gentleman's Club...I had no idea it was right in the backyard until someone said they had gone there.

Did you actually make a complaint to Metroparks? If not, just running away to another beach is only solving your problem, not everyones. This is a huge pet peave of mine as well, but I haven't spent much time there as I've been away. Sending a Twit-pic to Metroparks would get it very visible and probably get traction on the overall issue.
  15. Thanks!!! I was just going to ask. I've been in Florida this entire month. I would assume with a brand new building next door, the other buildings will be fixed up. But we all know what happens when one assumes.
  16. That's the thinking of this twenty something as well. I work in insurance and would never work at Progressive. Their self-contained continent as erocc says is not appealing to me at all.
  17. My bad...thanks for the correction!
  18. It's nearly impossible to find true loft rentals. Erie building is awesome, but for sale not rent....except http://www.mlsfinder.com/oh_normls/jacoblohser2/index.cfm?action=listing_detail&property_id=3382027&searchkey=dc166a01-b530-10a9-0b22-a1e6d0472b60 Tremont Place Lofts website http://www.tremontplacelofts.com/apartments.htm Tower Press on the eastern side of downtown is a great community but set aside for artists only (to save you the look). Here's another I saw on Craigslist in my downtown search http://www.wtgrantapartments.com/gallery.asp Another I saw in my search: http://m.1300bridgeview.com One in Ohio City: http://www.fkmb.com And as mentioned before...Lofts at Rosetta: http://www.east4thstreet.com/live/new-the-lofts-at-rosetta-center Many of my friends and I live in loft style places downtown, but they are really hard to come by. Maybe given your price range and time frame, you'll have better luck!

It's been awhile since we've heard any news at Tyler Village, but here's some progress! design firm relocates offices from burbs to st. clair superior's tyler village "Rene Polin founded his design consulting firm, Balance Inc., in Chagrin Falls. Yet as he grew, he felt cut off from creative opportunities in Cleveland. In October, he moved his eight-person, nine-year-old firm to 5,500 square feet of open, custom-built office space in the Tyler Village complex in St. Clair Superior." http://freshwatercleveland.com/devnews/balanceinc021413.aspx
  20. The latest talk is that they are not paying because they are in court due to the landlord allowing another country themed bar in the development which they say violates the protection granted them by their lease.
  21. This was actually my high school. It's weird to see empty land there...in addition to nearly every elementary school and the middle school.
  22. Under budget...hopefully that means some awesome finishings on the upper mall area.
  23. From what I have heard, Prestis and Corbos (both in Little Italy) have great cannoli's. As for bike riding, Cleveland continues to get better. Downtown you are able to ride down Euclid Avenue (main street) in the Bus Only lane which gives you plenty of room and separates you a bit from traffic. An improved path is also going up on the Lorain Carnegie bridge allowing you to safely bike across the river to Ohio City and the West Side Market! As for biking along the lake, unfortunately I dont believe there are many options. I do believe you can bike on a mile or so path at Edgewater Park on the west side of Cleveland. Also beautiful, and a great ride, is riding though Shaker Heights in the summer and fall on South Park and North Park Boulevards. And although you dont pass Lake Erie, you do pass the Shaker Lakes! From downtown you can ride out about 4 miles along the lake going east starting on marginal road to the village of Bratanahl. The trail then continues south down MLK Blvd through the beautiful Cultural Gardens with a plan to eventually go to the Shaker Lakes Trail system.
  24. By the way...if you are interested in downtown...The Downtown Cleveland Alliance has a pretty good website listing all of the neighborhoods, buildings etc. Here is their website... http://www.downtowncleveland.com/living.aspx
  25. Agreed! It is also a very healthy and tasty dining experience.
