Cleveland / Lakewood: The Edge Developments
This is not a bad thing necessarily...if they would just flip the site plan a little...it wouldn't be as offensive. I like the idea of the back entrance from 116 also. Very pedestrian friendly haha

What do you mean by a bigger piece KJP?

Cleveland: Slavic Village: Development and News
I drove by the Trailside at Morgana Run development the other day and it looks as though they are finalizing the streets and utilities. Hopefully, we will start to see some construction soon!

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
The design on the picture above is nice, but it leaves some questions. Where is it in relation to the street? I don't see the size of the parking lot or the drive through. I have nothing against McD's, but turning Lorain into another 117th is not going to help the neighborhood progress regardless of the design aspect.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
You mean Mcdonalds won't add to to their property values??!! That was one of the concerns voiced in those discussions and then a low density, unattractive building adding additional traffic comes in and it's better? Those features don't seem to me to add value to homes.

Especially since many of the doctors completing their fellowship here are coming from the east and west coasts.

Corporate Headquarter Locations - Urban/Suburban
Many of the people that live around me are transplants as am I, but there is also a high number of suburbanites of all ages downtown. Quite a few of the people I know work for Cleveland Clinic or UH and a good bit of the others work in one of the many downtown law firms. I work for Farmers Insurance and about 10 of us live in the downtown area, but the average age in my office is probably around 37. It will be interesting to see what the next round of apartment redevelopments downtown bring in. It will also be interesting to see if these companies moving into downtown/staying and growing downtown will bring any more residents.

My thought process was this intersection should be made better by an up to the street project. If they're wanting to put a Mcdonalds here, they may as well tear down the adorable building across the street and build a CVS. Ohio City's appeal is moving westward...this would not be progress and $7 per hour positions are not a good reason to build it.

Corporate Headquarter Locations - Urban/Suburban
We will get there. It seems Cleveland is a little resistant to change and progress, but great strides have been made already!

Corporate Headquarter Locations - Urban/Suburban
Independence is about as far as I would ever consider (10 minute bus ride from a downtown apartment/condo).

Beachwood: New Eaton Headquarters
I think it's more of the point that young people are looking for convenience and walkability...not driving every single place they need to go.

Cleveland: Upper Chester: Development and News
It's great to see some density in an area that the only newer housing has been sprawl style.

Annapolis, Maryland
Such a cute town...but am I the only one thinking how much the power lines detract from the beauty!!!

Cleveland: Downtown: East 4th Street Developments
There's been a "dumpster" outside of the Volk building a good portion of the week and it's pretty full. It looks like they're cleaning out the second floor.

Boise, Idaho
I've heard Boise is an extremely artsy town. There was a good bit of retail downtown as well. Thanks for the pics...I've never been.

Cleveland Public Schools: News and Discussion
I didn't see this within the last few pages but it is from 2010. If anyone is bored or interested there's a nice breakdown of the transformation plan... http://www.cmsdnet.net/AboutCMSD/~/media/Files/About/Transformation/Plan/2010_Mar_09%20CMSD_AcademicTransformationPlan_Updated.ashx

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
So after a ton of digging, I finally found what the huge building under construction at Chatham/W 28/W 29/Monroe was. It was probably discussed in here a while back, but I couldn't find anything. When driving by there are no signs to advise what the construction is. After looking at google maps, I realized it used to be Paul Dunbar elementary school, but I cannot find a single rendering of the project...anyone have any insight?

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
I hate that section of road...it is nothing but lane after lane of traffic. Cleaning up the street, new investment and hopefully a relocation of the CMHA properties may spur additional investment in the area. That section has a lot of potential...just needs a little push:)

Cleveland Public Schools: News and Discussion
Why is no one speaking of the charter schools? The good ones are quite successful. They have a very disciplined and rigorous program. They require parent support and the teachers even visit the student's homes. As a result, they are on par with the top state schools. The teachers put in around 60 hours a week (I know because many of my friends work at various charters throughout the city).
