  1. A couple quick shots of Hazel 8: IMG_2456 by lilblondiecan2003, on Flickr IMG_2457 by lilblondiecan2003, on Flickr I took a picture of the old school being converted to apartments near the new Heritage Park homes on 105th, but somehow it is gone...it looks mostly complete. It also appears a home is being renovated on Wade Park which is very nice to see. Work on the new school of the arts is started and the roadwork is starting around there and up MLK.
  2. The other group of apartments is probably Detroit Shoreway. Many of the western commuters into downtown get off at West Blvd and go via 2. The daily line of cars is comical. I lived in that area prior to the Innerbelt construction, so I'm sure it's even more crazy now.
  3. There's another group of apartments east on Detroit from here that Marous is doing as well...I tried researching it to see plans and as others said on this one, there's nothing online.
  4. This should still like all estimates be taken with a grain of salt.
  5. Very cool! I've never heard of free fueling stations anywhere!
  6. They just put their sign up this past weekend...it was either Thursday or Friday. I didn't even think to say anything about it.
  7. Here are some shots from yesterday...siding going up in back, brick on from and second building being started: IMG_2449 by lilblondiecan2003, on Flickr IMG_2450 by lilblondiecan2003, on Flickr IMG_2451 by lilblondiecan2003, on Flickr
  8. I always stay home and cook or go to Tremont/Ohio City for weekend breakfast...one of my dives is E55th diner...super cheap. I just found out today that there's one on Carnegie right by me, but I've never seen it. I plan to look into it tho as cooking gets old sometimes.
  9. I just got home at 1:30am and there is still a line wrapped around the casino. E4th was packed as well as all the places along Euclid. Week one is definitely a hit!
  10. Most of the Luxe clientele is affluent suburbanites and trendy urbanites.
  11. ^^Nothing compared to what it's going to be tonight
  12. There will be an uproar when that happens I'm sure lol. I personally can't wait tho...this is my garage and right across the street from me and hate both of those lots. And upthread...there's still another hat shop that has not been pushed out down by E4. I am not sad to see one of them go and wish the cash advance place would move also.
  13. Hopefully they will reuse those somewhere else...we need green downtown
  14. Right..there were still plenty of people everywhere when I was walking home from getting Chinese around 9:30, but my normal walk includes not seeing anyone down Euclid from 12th to 9th. There were people walking down every street from E12 to Public Square.
  15. As a downtown resident...I walk over to Market Square and Flats West all the time.
  16. Ditto! Plus, the amount of people allowed in will be doubling which will get rid of the line issue.
  17. I consider anything I can walk to within 15 minutes (and i live downtown) part of my neighborhood. That would include tremont, flats west bank, and part of Ohio city, central and asiatown
  18. The only one I can think of is E. 79 and Euclid
  19. The only way more hotels will be built is if demand is there. If there's enough demand to build more, we will see them, but financing for them is so tough...it would be a few years down the line.
  20. And here goes the pissing contest. I don't understand why everything in Ohio has to be a competition. Each of our cities cores growing is great. We will see great growth over this next decade and that is thrilling.
  21. No denying of that. Look at my posts in the 2010 census data thread...I spoke on that for each of our metro areas. All of the major cities have seen massive growth in the last few years in the downtown cores. It's not stopping anytime soon either.
  22. Yes, we read the report. They are estimating. The end. We all know there is growth. That's obvious in each of the 3 c's.
