  1. FINALLY!!! Seventy-nine new homes coming to the heart of Buckeye "Tomorrow, Wednesday, Oct. 19, the official groundbreaking on Legacy at St. Luke’s will mark the beginning of a new, revitalized Buckeye neighborhood. Zaremba Homes will build 79 homes at 11327 Shaker Blvd. on Britt Oval, near the Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and E. 114th Street intersection." http://www.freshwatercleveland.com/devnews/Legacy101816.aspx

Really depends on the place. A nice restaurant (like anything on E4th) it's probably pretty low. Servers really have to be mentally present on a busy night; try being in something and remembering that table 11 needs another round of drinks, table 13 needs more bread, table 14 needs to be cleared of entree plates and talked to about dessert, and table 12 is now being sat, please be there in under a minute and explain tonight's specials. More bar/nightclub places it's definitely much higher. Drinks get made wrong, people buy shots for bartenders, and... shenanigans! Also corporate vs individual restaurants. If you're working somewhere like in the new hilton, I guarantee there was a drug test to get hired. There are cameras everywhere so no sneaking drinks. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk I work at a large restaurant part-time and a lot of people take "smoke" breaks pretty frequently and everyone is either dating, banging or related.

Basically it's because you only have so much existing space for lanes (which is 4). When the EB bridge was moved to two lanes, 77N was restriped to two lanes because that was the alternate route. Now the EB lanes will return to carrying 3 lanes through to the trench and the 77N ramp returns to 1 lane. Ohhhh, so they're moving that barrier back to the right. That makes sense. I was just driving it this morning thinking this is a huge area for one lane. Thank you!

"Also as part of this work, the ramp from I-90 west to I-77 south will return to one lane." WHY??? It's clearly working fine.
  5. This just annoys me so much....every single aspect. I know I'm preaching to the choir but UGH.
  6. With their new organic lines and some of their old staples, Aldi isn't bad. I don't buy fruits, veggies or meats there though.
  7. I really hope they can get this going soon and it doesn't stray much from that design. This project seems more realistic than the Flats West Nautica building.
  8. Miami is a horrible place to live if you're not a higher income earner. All of these lists are stupid, but I think they're looking at it at the middle class and lower level.
  9. Sign of the times. Same with RAM Electronics. Gone! As cool as Unique Thrift was, If this leads to better design and density for that particular parcel, then I'm all for it That would be a demolition I think most of us would support.
  10. mjarboe[/member] uploaded her more in depth article. There is a neat older photo in there as well. http://realestate.cleveland.com/realestate-news/2016/10/construction_starts_on_60_mill.html#incart_m-rpt-1
  11. Ahh, didn't realize the 240 included those. Not bad.
  12. Seems like it dropped from 240 apartments to 194. "The new five-floor building will house 194 units of market-rate apartments, Snavely confirmed."
  13. Zaremba aims to build apartments on the remaining land, with construction possible in the spring, said Lisa Saffle, director of sales and marketing for the company. But that deal, which cropped up last year, is still coming together. "Meanwhile, Zimmerman is pushing ahead on his project, where townhouses will be roughly 1,200 square feet and monthly rents could start in the high $1,800s. Each unit will have two bedrooms and two bathrooms, with a two-car garage on the first floor and a balcony upstairs. Plans show four clusters of homes on a gated site, with a private dog run nestled in the middle of the property." http://www.cleveland.com/business/index.ssf/2015/10/rental_townhouses_planned_for.html
  14. So then the plan will be leave it vacant for two years, then it'll be "too far gone" to save.
  15. Lucky? Most people believe the Brand is tired and needs a refresh. Just a general question, who here would look at a R-C first, if Going Luxury? Park Hyatt, Mandarin Oriental, St. Regis, and Four Season knock it out the park. The Peninsula, Fairmont & Waldorf brands may be fight to keep with Marriott. I agree. In my Sim City world, Dan Gilbert would relegate this to the B-rate "high roller hotel" and put up a high-end property as a part of Phase II. Four Seasons and Residences in Cleveland? Yes please! Fixed
  16. Construction to start on Link59 office building in Cleveland's Midtown "Hemingway Development expects to close on a $1.15 million land deal with the city of Cleveland this week, putting the company in control of 6.5 acres of vacant property between Euclid and Chester avenues east of East 59th Street. During summer of 2017, developers Fred Geis and Jim Doyle plan to open their first new building, a 62,000-square-foot, three-story structure – one that's completely speculative, at this point, without any tenants lined up. Separately, Hemingway will buy the former Ace Fixtures building to the east and spruce up the empty space. The transactions will add roughly 90,000 square feet of new or renovated offices to the city's growing Health-Tech Corridor, where turnkey buildings are hard to find." http://realestate.cleveland.com/realestate-news/2016/09/construction_to_start_on_link5.html#incart_m-rpt-1
  17. Awesome, thanks for the heads up! Looks to start in February.
  18. The company is putting 550 jobs in the area (150 more than at their Chester location) - they also bought the old factory on the west side of E70th for further expansion. Virtually anything they do is better than what's there now and what they have promised so far isn't bad at all. Agreed, but just because it's better than what's there and just because they're adding jobs, that means there should be no standards? A slight re-work would make a huge difference. Why does Cleveland not plan for the future instead of the now?
  19. That's every day each direction. Thankfully, I never have to deal with it. It's pretty much three hours of rush hour in both directions. 77N is always stopped and 90 isn't the best either. Dead Man's Curve Westbound usually starts backing up around 2:30 and by 3:30 is stopped a mile and a half back. Cleveland traffic isn't that bad (especially if you choose wisely where you live/work) but it definitely has big city jams on certain routes at certain times.
  20. So awesome. After announcement after announcement and then this long drought it's great to finally see something moving forward.
  21. Yea, it looks like they're going back into a lot of their previous markets. There are quite a few stores coming soon in the next few months. Crocker doesn't look to be part of them.
  22. After a seven year absence, Z Gallerie is coming back to NE Ohio at Legacy in the old bookstore space. Set to open November of this year.
  23. Well-deserved y'all!! Hopefully, it's just the beginning.
