Cleveland: Flats East Bank
Actually it may be. I know it was unofficially mentioned here, but I thought it was confirmed some where. I could be wrong though. Based on Michelle's article, I'm guessing the lease hasn't been finalized yet. They said they'll announce very soon.

Yea, I agree, although I never stopped in there even though I enjoyed it.

The Launch Party was impressive. I was never expecting all of that.

Cleveland: Population Trends
Cleveland needs a major national advertising campaign. There are so many jobs here that cannot be filled by locals. I just heard the region is short over 700 RN's and that number will multiply in the coming years. Throw in other industries and there are thousands of jobs. There should also be a greater effort to re-train old workers to new fields and the kids currently in school (which I think is Cleveland schools new thought process with the specific schools of science, art, tech, etc). I also agree with every poster who said leadership NEEDS to be shuffled around/go. They have their heads buried in the ground a good bit of the time.

Cleveland: Cleveland State University: Development and News
It would be different if the green space was actually usable, but it's mostly just grass with sidewalks going all over it. Functional green space would make it feel like a college campus....frisbee, sun bathing, reading on benches. Instead, we get space that's not used at all from what I've seen.

Cleveland: Little Italy: Development and News
Ugh, what is it with all the fence in that area?? It's not a good look to me. Hopefully, planning has them upgrade the look a little. It's very meh in those pics. Now after seeing the site plan, I hope they ask them to build up to the street. I swear...the developers in this town.

University Heights: Development and News
Absolutely! There's no reason the suburbs cannot be at least partially urban as well. Young families will most certainly be moving to inner ring burbs. I've never understood Severance true demise since it's surrounded by condo's, townhomes and apartments.

I actually like the building to the right of that white building, but it'll probably come tumbling down. Nice to see development continue pushing east.

Cleveland: What Cleveland Neighborhood or Suburb do you live in?
Oh you're in the weird section that can get one of multiple cities. When I lived in 44121, I got Cleveland, Cleveland Heights and South Euclid depending on the company.

Cleveland: Downtown Office Buildings Updates
I'm not sure I've ever noticed the two extra floors before. I'll have to pay extra attention next time I'm by there.

Living in Shaker Heights
I looked at multiple homes in Shaker and I think it depends on your budget really. Fernway was a great neighborhood but tiny lots. Good schools, easy access and what seemed to be great neighbors. In my budget, the homes had outdated kitchens but most everything else was good. I have a friend that lives in Onaway and have met many of her neighbors. They are all incredibly involved in their children's education and extra-curicular activities. They also all sent their kids to public schools. I've been watching Shaker real estate and it's moving faster and faster it seems and prices are still on the lower end due to high taxes. I have seen homes selling as quick as they are listed and was outbid by two offers over asking similar to you. Ultimately, I bought in Bratenahl due to a home I could not pass up which is also full of amazing people and homes.

Cleveland: Random Development and News
Old Brooklyn bank building, a Cleveland landmark, could become restaurant, apartments "Reddy's plans call for commercial space, perhaps starting as banquet hall and evolving into a restaurant, on the first floor. Seven to 11 apartments or corporate suites might fit upstairs as part of the second phase of construction, she said. Steady bookings at the Ariel International Center, her combination events-space-and-office-incubator on East 40th Street, have Reddy looking for other places to host gatherings and house international travelers." http://www.cleveland.com/business/index.ssf/2016/02/old_brooklyn_bank_building_a_c.html#incart_river_index

Cleveland: Jack Cleveland Casino
Guess Phase two can be moved to cancelled. "Cullen also put to rest any hope for a new casino — long called Phase II — any time soon along the Cuyahoga River, though he said the company will continue to invest in the city. “We’re very committed to that site (on the Cuyahoga River) and we’re definitely going to pursue a mixed-use development on that site,” Cullen said. “At this point, our sense is the gaming market in Northeast Ohio doesn’t support additional capacity. So we’ll be exploring what type of project does make sense over time.” http://www.crainscleveland.com/article/20160223/NEWS/160229943/horseshoe-casino-cleveland-to-be-renamed-jack-cleveland-casino#utm_medium=email&utm_source=ccl-dailynews&utm_campaign=ccl-dailynews-20160223

Is this a scaled down plan of the "Townhomes at the Hinge" proposed for the vacant lot at W32nd and Franklin? http://townhomesohiocity.com/index.php Maybe it's the wine, but I just had a major chuckle...."brand new, never built before".

Cleveland: Upper Chester: Development and News
I'm sure the apartments would do better with a more pedestrian friendly area. It's not far at all from UC but seems so far due to the set up and being so car oriented. With UC3, they may start to see more demand as you said.

There's a pretty updated plan in the Park Place Standards PDF they have under townhomes, including scales of the buildings between 69th and 70th.

How did that furniture get left in there???!?!?!?!?! Looks like it was a beautiful space. Such a shame, the sub-urbanization of America causes beauties like these to disappear.

Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway: Battery Park
Yea, I just saw last night some of the new listings and they are trying to get around $100-150k more than they paid. I'm curious to see how it plays out. I'm sure Believeland1 knows first hand the appreciation.

You don't think swimming is a sport? And how often do you swim in Lake Erie? Yuck. I have a pool myself and am very active. I guess I don't get how that's country club? Obviously, just your opinion, but I'm not getting how this is a negative. If anything, it should increase your property values.

Cleveland: Retail News
They just moved to a new space in the new west end of the development. Saturday and Sunday will still bring in traffic I'm sure, but Monday through Friday, there's not really a huge draw. I think that's what I don't get with all these different shopping centers with limited stores in them. You have to truly be going to most of these stores and, at least for me, if it's the only thing there I'm going to skip it.
