Cleveland: Filling in Euclid Avenue
I got some pics of the MidTown Tech Park on Euclid Ave over the weekend. It looks like they're close to finishing up the building.

Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
It was on the local news a couple of times last week and also reported/posted various places online: http://www.wkyc.com/news/article/195939/45/Cleveland-St-Clair-crack-remains-a-mystery- http://www.cleveland.com/medicalmart/index.ssf/2011/07/st_clair_avenue_crack_investig.html http://www.19actionnews.com/story/14992982/crack-in-cleveland-road-causing-problems

Cleveland: Flats East Bank
With the way that Main Ave and Front Ave slope down towards the river, wont some or all of the levels of the parking garage technically be "underground"?? I'm not sure what the plans are to fill in around the building as the construction gets farther along. So eventhough those levels arent being build as or referred to as a "basement" wont they sort of be underground??

Has anyone heard any addition info about the crack that started down the middle of St. Clair Ave thru the Medical Mart construction?? I read about it and saw it reported on the news last week, but havnt heard anything further about it.

Cleveland: Filling in Euclid Avenue
I haven't heard anything about changes being made to the Agora?? Hopefully it'll always remain a music venue!!! I would think that the vacant lots between Chester and Euclid between the new MidTown Tech Park and E.55th street would be an excellent area to continue the Tech Park development. If those vacant lots are developed that whole area could be considered a Tech "campus".

Cleveland: Filling in Euclid Avenue
Just after my last post, I found this article - http://www.cleveland.com/business/index.ssf/2011/06/midtown_cleveland_inc_announce.html So I guess that the building on Euclid and E.71st is going to be renovated and kept as a 7 story building!!! MidTown Cleveland Inc. announces expansion plans MidTown Cleveland Inc. on Thursday announced new plans to renovate several buildings along Euclid Avenue for research and office space. The second phase of the MidTown Tech Park, a $21 million project at 6700 Euclid Ave., was unveiled during the group's annual meeting at the InterContinental Hotel. Plans include renovating a vacaant 40,000-square-foot building at 7000 Euclid Ave. directly across from the MidTown project. MidTown Cleveland, an economic development corporation, is also working with Hemingway Development on a plan to redevelop the Cleveland Agora building along Euclid.

Cleveland: Filling in Euclid Avenue
There are a couple of buildings on Euclid for sale/lease around E.71st and E.66th streets that are 4 and 7 stories high. Hopefully each of those buildings will be renovated and filled up instead of being torn down and something smaller built in their place. That area of Euclid seems to be turning out nicely, with its proximity to the Clinic and the new MidTown Tech Park getting closer to completion. Some areas do seem to need more attention than others, but it's good to see signs of life slowly coming back to Euclid!!!

Cleveland: Flats East Bank
Good news, good news!!! I've been out of town for the past week or so and it's nice to get back home and see progress like this!!!  Hopefully with this noticeable progress and a bit of warmer weather finally here (although, I do see that more rain is on it's way :x ) we'll hear more and more about this project.

Cleveland: Flats East Bank
From the images on http://www.flatseast.com/image-gallery/ I would think that the there would be a decent demand for RTA WFL service early in the morning and then again around quitting time with the approximately 1400 new employees from Ernst & Young and Tucker Ellis & West that will occupy the building. The building also still shows that it has 7 "available" floors, so there will eventually be additional companies and people in the building with some of them needing/wanting to use the RTA. Also, people that fly in from out of town could use the RTA from the airport directly to the Aloft Hotel. The WFL might not need to run every 30 mins, but I would think that its service would definitely be increased.

Cleveland: Downtown: Euclid & 9th Tower / Schofield Building Redevelopment
Nice!!! I've been waiting a while to hear some kind of news about the construction resuming that corner.

Cleveland: Flats East Bank
^^ I also think I remember hearing that some of the utilities were completed in the area for Phase II after the original demolotion of the East Bank buildings. There just seems to be a lot of work on the soil and then work a couple of weeks ago to remove the 3 tanks that were previously used for the coil/gas storage. I was just wondering about the soil conditions, etc in the Phase II area. They may not know for sure until the area gets closer to construction, but I would hope that there isnt as much prep-work to be done in the Phase II area and that work there will be easier to get started.

Cleveland: Flats East Bank
Does anyone know if the area between the waterfront line and the river will require the same type of site prep that we've been seeing down on the East Bank for the past few months?? I would hope that because there were previously buildings in that area, it wouldnt require as much work to build on that area again.

Cleveland: Filling in Euclid Avenue
On my way into work today I saw some scaffolding up on top of the 200 Public Square (BP building). Just wondering if that might be the start of the "Huntington" name going up on the building???

Cleveland: Perk Park Renovation
Thanks 3231, I saw the post from Mid March saying that construction was supposed to start in the next month or so. But it's been approximately a month and I was just wondering if the construction had actually started yet because I havnt been able to see the site during the day. Just thought someone that worked in the area, etc would know for sure.

Cleveland: Perk Park Renovation
Has anyone noticed work starting up again on the park?? The handful of times I've been by the area its either been the weekend or late in the evening. It doesnt look like much more has been completed, but just figured that I'd check to see if someone sees the area during the day?? Thanks.

Love the pics Hts121!!! Looks like they made fairly quick work of the majority of the deconstruction. Hopefully some warmer\dryer weather will keep things moving along at this pace. I'm lookin forward to seeing some new structure rising from the ground.

Cleveland: Public Square Redesign
Glad to see that some of the ideas from our discussions here on UO will be presented to Parkworks. Hopefully Parkworks will take some of the info and put it to good use in the redesign of Public Square. I think that PS will be an important part of connecting a lot of the construction projects that are starting downtown. As these major projects get completed, they will attract more people and having PS properly redesigned will be an important piece of having people enjoy their time in the city!!!

Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
It's good to see news about additional construction projects here in Cleveland related to the MM & CC, eventhough it isnt built yet. Hopefully there will be more and more related construction as we get closer to the MM & CC opening!!! Good news for Cleveland!!!

Cleveland: Public Square Redesign
I also really like Burnham_2011's suggestion for PS!!! I'm glad to see the monument and a fountain there in the south section. And I think that a Christmas tree and holiday decorations in the northern section would be a nice touch and a good use for the area around the holidays. It would be an open area in the warm weather for various uses, daily markets, small concerts, art exhibits, etc and then a could be decorated for the holiday seasons (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, etc.) This is something that could/should probably be done in a few phases. Just some suggestions, but what about - Phase 1, close off Ontario and develop the north and south sections. Phase 2, re-pave the streets with the paving stones. And the after a couple of years do Phase 3, which would maybe be to add additional amenities to the north and south sections and some of the surrounding buildings, depending on the various things that the new PS is used for??
