  1. That should fill in that area nicely!!!
  2. Here's a couple pics from today of the walkway between the parking garage and the Q being dismantled.
  3. They are starting some visible work on the outside. These are from the past couple of days. I also saw them taking down some of the awnings along the street today.
  4. Looking at the above pic, got me thinking that The Beacon should be pretty comparable in size to the Key Marriott building in the foreground. It's also going to nicely fill that gap between the 5th/3rd building and the Key Tower!!!
  5. Now that they've got a handful of floors constructed, any idea how soon before the building facade starts going up?? I would imagine that the facade would start before the building is topped off??
  6. About time!!! A good part of this stretch of Euclid has been vacant for way too long!!!
  7. It definitely shows a lot of density from this angle.
  8. Thanks. Yep, it's from the Landmark.
  9. Here's a pic from yesterday. It's a bit hard to see in front of the brown on the building behind it, but a new set of floors are getting ready to go up!!!
  10. Wonder what plans he'll have for the church??
  11. Bookhouse Brewing should be a good addition to that area. That small stretch of W.25th seems a bit "dead", so hopefully this will do a good job of connecting the businesses around the West Side Market to the new development around The Quarter. And The Galley Group opening it's restaurant-incubator in the Forest City Savings and Trust Building (former location of Massimo da Milano) this summer will also be good for the area. Cleveland chefs sought for new Ohio City food hall CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Calling all Cleveland chefs: Have you always wanted to own your own restaurant, but didn't have the capital? Here's a chance to run your own kitchen, relatively risk-free. The Galley Group, founded in Pittsburgh two years ago, is bringing its restaurant-incubator concept to Cleveland next year, with space for four aspiring chef-owners. The eatery - it doesn't have a name yet - will be part of the Quarter development, under construction at the corner of Detroit Avenue and W. 25th Street in Ohio City. It will occupy the first floor of the historic Forest City Savings and Trust Building, built in 1890s and currently occupied by Massimo da Milano. http://www.cleveland.com/travel/index.ssf/2017/12/want_to_run_a_restaurant_cleve.html
  12. Actual work has started out in front of the Q. They were digging the sidewalks and steps up this morning.
  13. But the bus warns you to "watch out" as it turns ...
  14. Yea, they sure do make the area look bad!!! They look like some kind of temporary power poles?? Strange.
  15. Yep, it's definitely going to be nice to see this building with some new windows and a bit of activity in and around it.
  16. I saw this today while I was out for lunch. There were also a couple of guys working things from the ground. So it looks like some sort of work has started??
  17. That storefront has been empty for a while. Nice to see something finally going in there!!
  18. I totally agree. It is a bit surprising how large 925 actually is. That intersection went from almost totally empty a few years ago, to 75% full. When the 925 redevelopment is finished it's gonna be nice to drive down Euclid from TC to PHS!!!
  19. The former Huntington Building (925 Euclid Ave) is still empty, and I don't think that construction has started on it yet. But other than that I'm pretty sure this is the last empty building between E.9th and Playhouse Square.
  20. Wondered how the cold weather would impact (slow down) the construction. Glad to hear it is still moving along nicely!!! Can't wait to see more steel in the air!!!
  21. While I was out for lunch today it looked like there was visible steel up on 515 Euclid?? Or am I seeing this wrong??
  22. Damn, I've walked by that building many times and still had to google the address to figure out which building it was. Even though the rest of the block is empty, it still kinda blends in there!!! Wonder how this will impact any future development on the surrounding parking lots??
  23. I thought it must have been heart-wrenching to be a member and seeing the gradual decline of the place. But like a slowly sinking version of the Titanic, I don't think it ever dawned on anyone that the place would end up in such bad condition. I was in the CAC once back in the early 2000's. A friend of a friend was a member and took a few of us there for some drinks between a wedding & reception that we were at downtown. We were only on one floor and from what I remember it was still in decent condition. Always thought back to that time when driving down Euclid and seeing the CAC sit there empty all those years. Glad the building is finally getting some attention!!!
  24. I read that the Wolstien Center doesn't have the ceiling height necessary for Arena Football. And it was also mentioned that this might be a "graceful" way for the Gladiators to exit before the league folds (which apparently some people think is inevitable). I'm more worried / disappointed about not having concerts there during the summers for the next 2 years!!
  25. Having the Terminal Tower filled up with residents will (hopefully) have an immediate positive impact for TC (and the businesses in the surrounding areas). Then those residents will need stores (a mini-Target, restaurants, better food court, etc.) That will cause more people to be in TC shopping, etc instead of just traveling thru or just hanging out there. So hopefully getting people in the Terminal Tower will be what starts more / better businesses coming into TC.
