Dover, Ohio
Nice looking town. As a side note, the westside Cleveland suburb of Westlake used to be known as Dover (Dover Center Rd. is the traditional main street), it caused confusion for postal workers, and thus the name was changed. The local High School mascot is the 'D' Men, or Demons.

My New House
I look inside the church, most of the wood floor was caved in, with remnants of the alter/podium still present. It is cleaner then you would expect, mostly dust, on the inside. There looked to be a table with old antiques/paint can, but I'm going to wait until someone else is with me to venture inside. The building looks very unstable and has tree branches growing through the roof, but appears to have very little human damage since it became abandoned.

My New House
I signed a lease for the house pictured below as a place to live when I graduate next month and look for a career. It used to be a two-room school house, with the garage still having the original wood floors and a chalk board. Next door is an abandoned church/chapel. The back yard includes the remnants of the Hocking Canal, the former Col. & O. railroad (now the Hocking Valley Scenic Railroad www.HVSRy.org), and the Hocking River. The property extends to the hills and a soy bean farmer rents a portion of the property. 1932 map of property and canal The house is located right on US 33 in Hocking County, between Haydenville and Nelsonville. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=union+furnace,+ohio&ie=UTF8&ll=39.460186,-82.297726&spn=0.031543,0.080338&t=p&z=14 Front of house from across Route 33 Ruins of church next door Side of house Overview of back yard, with ruins of church, and rear addition to house Hocking Valley Scenic Railway, with ties as platfroms for annual Easter Train Soy bean farm and Hocking River beyond the tracks Beyond the track again, to the right is a clearing with a spot for fishing and campfire View from the back porch Driveway over the tracks Close up of front porch with antique benches I'll be moving in March so I'll get some pictures of the inside details soon.

CROCKERLAND
The only thing that might make Crocker Park better then Legacy Village, Steelyard, ect. is the fact that people actually live there.

Carhenge (Alliance, Nebraska)
A few shots of Carhenge, located just outside Alliance, Nebraska... Reads: Here lie the bones, of foreign cars. They served their purpose, while Detroit slept. Now Detroit is awake, and America is great! Two of the "Fourd Seasons", which represents the corn growing season.

Rapid City, South Dakota (+Black Hills, Badlands, Pierre)
Pierre is the 2nd smallest state capitol (behind Montpelier, Vermont) with 14,000 people. It is in the middle of nowhere, and really quite disappointing, great for nature lovers I suppose. Rapid City is South Dakota's 2nd largest city (behind Sioux City) with 64,000 people.

Urban Ohio LOGO Design Contest!
These are all really good! For the flag one: I thought the bridge was some farms on a hill in front of a skyline. Maybe put 'Urban' above, and 'Ohio' below, the logo. Really good and one of my favorites. For the face, I agree with moving the 'eyes' north. Another one of my favorites! Can't wait to see the final submissions. Logos are fun!
