Plane Crash Photos
The farmer's insurance covers it, we actually met him and he was really nice. He is contracted by the city (which probably destroyed the majority of the corn), and said the farms were created with the soil used in creating the nearby lakes (Including Lake Springfield, the largest in Illinois). It's not common at all, and is the reason that the engine is being sent back to the manufacturer to be analyzed. Checking the crankshaft is not something required during the 100 hour (in this case) AD's. It is possible, but it is also all about money. We actually have two twin engine planes that are slightly larger then the 206, but of course fuel and mantenance is much more expensive and the maneuverability isn't as good. The weight of an added engine and the effects on balance all factor into the size and shape of a plane with two engines. Twin Engine Aerocommander

I was in a plane crash..
Thanks again everyone. I didn't have my life flash before my eyes, I guess I had a lot of faith in the pilot.. I really didn't know what to expect when coming down, the closer we got definently the more worried I became, but the next thing I knew it was all over. I guess the scariest moment besides actual impact and my fear of a poptential fire, was when we were just over some trees making a turn and it looked almost like the wing was going to hit the ground first.. An interesting side note, I guess one of the roads leaving Springfield Airport is named McKinnie Cemetery Road, definently made me think..

I was in a plane crash..
After we landed and we made sure we were both alright, and fuel wasn't leaking ect.. I snapped a few shots with my own camera, although still shakeing a bit. We might have one of the other company planes fly over to get an aerial shot.. Our boss is driving out here as I type this with a flatbed to get the plane out of the corn field, in which we'll have to take apart the wings and drain the fuel, not looking forward to that at all.. Anyway, thanks everyone for the comments, I'm doing fine and am just feeling a bit sore. Definently a wild experience though.

Greatest misconceptions about your city
Detroit City does not touch Lake St. Clair at all, the Pointes are what border the lake in Wayne County..

Plane goes down near Chatham Pilot, passenger unhurt after emergency landing By AMANDA REAVY STAFF WRITER Published Monday, July 31, 2006 CHATHAM - Two Ohio men escaped unharmed after the small plane they were traveling in lost power to its engine, forcing the pilot to make an emergency landing in a Chatham cornfield Sunday morning. Sangamon County sheriff's Lt. Jack Campbell said pilot Adam Cochran, 25, of Hilliard, Ohio, and his passenger, Marc McKinnie, 21, whose hometown wasn't available, are employees of Midwest Aerial Photography. Based in Galloway, Ohio, the business specializes in aerial mapping photography, according to a company Web site. http://www.sj-r.com/Sections/News/Stories/92193.asp I'll post some pictures when I get a chance..

Is the city lacking greenspace at the expense of parking spaces? Do this!
I like it! In the future it seems like our only public spaces will be those that are accessible in a car..

What is your favorite Ohio pro sports team???
I voted for the Bluejackets, while not even my favorite hockey team (go Wings!) I think that them winning would be a huge boost for Columbus, and hockey in the state of Ohio as a whole.. I wouldn't mind seeing the Cavs win it all too, and the Browns... well maybe if they had a chance.
