  1. Way to go! Looks like a great improvement - boulevards should replace urban elevated highways whenever possible.
  2. NY Daily News picked up the story... http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/cincinnati-councilman-attacked-bar-insists-city-safe-article-1.1127758
  3. So is Cranley running for mayor or something?
  4. I saw it somewhere online (either reddit or facebook) before the James Dego comment.

  6. This seems like a bombshell news story --- one that you'll never see in the Enquirer.
  7. While I don't have a bone to pick with Mayor Mallory, I think it would be advantageous to him politically to champion historic preservation more prominently - like Joe Riley, the mayor of Charleston, SC.
  8. thanks, ink. it's a beautiful building and should leave a nice impression on visitors to the city
  9. I'm all in.

Where can I <3 OTR stickers be found?
  11. The Terrace Plaza has a ton of potential as a mixed use development - commercial, hotel, condos, apartments, restaurants, galleries --- hotel would only be possible at the exclusion of the residential options - unless windows could be added to the 7 (I think) story block.
  12. I'm really interested to see how they handle the renovation. Does anyone have interior pics?

Yeah, I'm only a fan of it the Cincinnati subreddit though there is probably a lot to learn in other specific, non-meme related subreddits. As a platform it has great potential to become a meaningful news source.

So does anyone use reddit? I've been on it for a year but only started really using it in the last couple months. It's occasionally interesting. I subscribe to Cincinnati subreddit: http://www.reddit.com/r/cincinnati
  15. When it comes to street grid and use, I think OTR would be classified as a downtown area - but what do I know?
  16. All I have to say is it really sucks if you're looking for somewhere to park and your headed south on Vine near 12th and the lot is full and you try to park near Ensemble only to find there are no spaces --- in order to get back in this area you have to circle a couple city blocks - all the way to Elm and Central - just to get back to 12th and Vine. I'd like to see the argument against making 13th, 14th, and 15th two way or Walnut and Main. My thoughts exactly. Well, that sucks.

    ^^OHSnap --- agreed.
  18. This was one of the suggestions from Russ Roach in his letter to the editor of the Enquirer: http://news.cincinnati.com/article/20120525/EDIT/305250040/Tough-love-from-recent-visitor (if anyone has access to the archive, i'd love to look at this letter again) also, Walnut Hills is going two-way: http://www.urbancincy.com/2012/07/city-leaders-partner-with-walnut-hills-to-advance-two-way-street-conversions/ Can OTR be next?
  19. Same with two-way street conversions.

  22. Yep. I haven't been in since it reopened (Thursday) but I got a tour on Wednesday and it was pretty nice. Rookwood tile, work by Such + Such, lights by Switch --- I'm glad they used local products/workers.

Yes, this would be a group effort for sure and would likely take months. I'm meeting with ArtWorks and others about this project soon.
