Cincinnati: Crime & Safety Discussion
If any of that was directed at me, here's my response: I would never call the police on someone smoking something no matter the location. I will call the police from now on when I'm harassed, drugs are offered to me, or I witness a drug deal mere feet from my face - especially in OTR whether it's 13th and Walnut, 12th and Clay, on Main, at Elm and Liberty, on Sycamore, at Vine and Green or on 12th in Pendleton. Discriminatory policing? Racism? Hardly - the fact that any of this sh!t is tolerated at all by any of the people who witness it is despicable. I'm not happy that I've let a lot of stuff slide in OTR that would never be tolerated in, say, my parents' neighborhood. If we want OTR to change for the better, we, as citizens, must hold it to the same standard to which we hold other neighborhoods. OTR's continued growth is far from guaranteed and one tragic incident could severely derail the neighborhood's rebirth. An increased police presence in these trouble areas is absolutely necessary.

Who manages these trouble spots? Where are the police? This is a disaster waiting to happen.

The city should eminent domain the trouble spots.

13th and Walnut is nothing but trouble right now. A friend of mine has been offered heroin at that corner twice. There's some good stuff happening on Walnut actually but that's not on topic.

Yes, I know who is behind it and something about the plans. I can't say anything else other than it is someone who has/is part of a business in OTR.

Dayton: Outdoor Recreation
It'd be great to see Dayton, Warren County ("Ohio's Largest Playground") and Cincinnati really push this regional narrative. Speaking of Caesar Creek Lake, they're putting in a marina which might make it a more popular staycation-style getaway with locals. http://www.ohiodnr.com/BoatingAreas/tabid/2700/Default.aspx http://www.middletownjournal.com/news/news/local/10m-marina-plan-revealed-at-caesar-creek-lake-1/nPShC/

Cincinnati Skywalks
Skywalks are only a good idea in an institutional setting where sidewalk traffic/street life isn't affected such as at a hospital or P&G's skywalk at Sixth and Broadway: http://goo.gl/maps/hgPh

Park + Vine is in Kaldi's old spot.- Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Development and News
FYI Rhino's Bar was one of the hoppin' places on Main Street during the 90's/early 2000's entertainment district days of Main Street...I could delve a little deeper into its history but it suffices to say it changed owners around 2000, then moved to Clay and 12th and then closed several years ago.- Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Development and News
And evict the winos who perch themselves on Rhino's stoop and feel free to holler at passersby. Rudest winos in the city IMO.- Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Development and News
No. I'd assume that parking lots will remain as such until 3CDC has addressed its landbank of vacant lots and buildings --- unless a developer made an offer 3CDC could not refuse which is doubtful.- The Diary of a Cleveland Industrial Building
Beautiful work. Thank you, Sherman.- Cincinnati: Pendleton: Hard Rock Casino Cincinnati
For what it's worth, driving down Reading Road by the casino definitely gives the feeling of a large blank wall.- Cincinnati: Festivals, Music Concerts, & Events
