Cincinnati: Downtown: 21c Hotel (Metropole Building Redevlopment)
It's probably been about a year since I've been there, but I've been to Proof probably 6 or 7 times and I never had a bad experience. Hopefully it was just an off night.

Cincinnati: Restaurant News & Info
PRidgeFlyer replied to The_Cincinnati_Kid's post in a topic in Restaurants, Local Events, & EntertainmentHe did the same thing when Tropicana closed at the Levee. He blamed in on not want to rebrand the restaurant when he lost the suit over the name, but if that restaurant had been making $$ he would have changed the name in a heartbeat and never missed a dinner service.

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
I have found a bright side to most of the announcements at the Banks, but WTF is the deal with two chain country music bars at the Banks? Cincinnati has been doing just fine with none, so adding one...I suppose it's something new. But two, really?? Maybe they can fill the rest of their spaces with piano bars. If they need a chain I would have rather seen a House of Blues type venue down there than a a second country bar. Maybe they'll sell wrist bands that get you into both bars during the weekend and have a mini redneck Midpoint.

Inside North Korea AP photos
Anyone that's is interested in NK should definitely read Nothing to Envy: Ordinary Lives in North Korea by Barbara Demick. Book Descripion: A National Book Award finalist and National Book Critics Circle finalist, Barbara Demick’s Nothing to Envy is a remarkable view into North Korea, as seen through the lives of six ordinary citizens Nothing to Envy follows the lives of six North Koreans over fifteen years—a chaotic period that saw the death of Kim Il-sung, the unchallenged rise to power of his son Kim Jong-il, and the devastation of a far-ranging famine that killed one-fifth of the population. Taking us into a landscape most of us have never before seen, award-winning journalist Barbara Demick brings to life what it means to be living under the most repressive totalitarian regime today—an Orwellian world that is by choice not connected to the Internet, in which radio and television dials are welded to the one government station, and where displays of affection are punished; a police state where informants are rewarded and where an offhand remark can send a person to the gulag for life. http://www.amazon.com/Nothing-Envy-Ordinary-Lives-North/dp/0385523904

Cincinnati: Downtown: Smale Riverfront Park
My guess is the delay on the townhouse construction has to do with the financing they were able to get prior to starting the project. If I remember correctly, they wanted to include condos in the first phase, but were forced to go entirely with rental units because no one was financing new condo construction with the housing downturn. Right now their focus is probably on finishing the existing build and then filling the residential and commercial spaces already there. Once that is all established there will certainly be more interest from hotel operators and people looking to buy townhomes.
