  1. That would be nice—I’d get myself a new house. ? No, just people I met in school there.
  2. Keystate Homes. Really cool folks out of Levin College.
  3. It's got a decent patio. I would've preferred an adaptive reuse of the Stanley or some infill like a City Target, but this definitely beats that grotesque statue idea.
  4. Congrats! When will Sanctuary close?
  5. FYI, http://www.noaca.org/modules/showdocument.aspx?documentid=8166. All you're talking about is definitely happening. Trust your community planners.
  6. I heard Puente Viejo will not be opening until December. :-(
  7. Seems to be that we need an urban growth boundary and very progressive zoning code coupled with drastically different funding at the state level if we're trying to be Portland. That being said, even if we're comfortable being Cleveland instead of Portland, there are things our region can do to improve the market. Make it easier for developers to build density. Stop catering to vehicular interests. Reward good urban form. Until these things are done... you can't expect the market to cater to "Portlandy desires." Bringing this back on topic. I see this Zimmerman project as a good first step. Sure it's not 7 stories, but it's infill in an area that's sorely in need of more people.
  8. As Forest City specializes in mixed-use/TOD-type projects, I'd rather not see them in a Rockside Rd.ish building! I'm still hoping for a Sherwin-Williams/Forest City Public Square new construction. Hopefully a beacon of mixed-use.
  9. ^ Is that still true? KJP, what's the latest with Greyhound et al., and the quest for multi-modal? Is there a latest?
  10. Pretty sure those protesters have been there for every CSU construction project since I moved here 6 years ago. To bring this back on subject--the building does have way more of a presence than I had anticipated. Hope it continues to impress me.
  11. ^^^It's a good point. My friends and I head down to FEB quite frequently after meetings, but we go to a restaurant/bar and then leave. There are only so many restaurants you can hit up in one day. At least bring in a chocolate shop or ice cream place or something that complements a meal. Bringing this back to the Crop Trio, while the closure of Crop in Uptown is quite sad, I did not enjoy my experience at the FEB Crops and neither had anyone I've spoken with.
  12. Has anyone seen prices for these guys floating around anywhere? Being a nearby downtown resident, my biggest concern about these (and any townhomes on the eastern fringe of downtown) is security. To me, the difference in feeling secure (which may differ from my actual level of security) rises dramatically between E. 12th and E. 13 north of Chester Ave. In addition, all of the apartments downtown have very secure locks and security guards on duty 24/7, and even still, I've had friends in the WHD whose places have been broken into. I worry these townhomes won't have the added security protection that pacifies most downtown residents in the existing apartment stock. I sincerely hope I'm wrong, but I would be reticent to spend too much moving into a condo that feels overly insecure. Does anyone know if the condos on Lindazzo do well (or poorly) in that regard?
  13. As Horizon is an out-of-town developer and probably doesn't know this thread exists, someone should politely inform them (and CPC and Mayor's office) so they can see these wonderful ideas :)
  14. I definitely think outlets would flourish down here. Us millennials really only shop at outlets (I think it's a legacy of watching all of our parents lose their jobs and life savings during middle school, high school, and college :)) With the downtown resident demographic how it is--outlets are a great fit. But, as Steve Litt said, it's really got to fit the space and be more than just a shelled off outlet mall. Something more mixed use with outlets, restaurants, and entertainment--preferably woven into the lakefront atmosphere.
  15. They were testing the fountain today. Fun to watch :)
  16. The'yre putting in bus stops along Superior :(. Two big ones and a little one on either side of the square right now. I'll post a pic later.
  17. Has anyone noticed the traffic lights in the center of Public Square? I don't remember seeing them yesterday, but they're there now. Interesting that they'll have buses stopping in the middle of the square.
  18. Thus alleviating the need for any surface lot in Greater Cleveland? That looks larger than the garages attached to Las Vegas casinos!!!!! I didn't know Dealer Tire was such a happening place.
  19. They are still testing the fountain and have been power washing the entire square pretty consistently lately. Here are some progress photos from earlier today:
  20. Well... I got home and my roommate said he was watching them blow up the scaffolding all day--so movie. Sadly, he didn't take any photos or videos. I'll train him yet.
  21. Been wondering the same thing. Cool scenes being shot right outside of it this morning.
  22. I past a truck filled with parking meters from E. 9 and Vincent on my way to work this morning. Are they removing them for the film or something else? Anyone know anything about this? Also, they were installing chess sets at Perk Park yesterday evening... I assume those ARE for the film, but they looked awesome there.
  23. Are bikers allowed to use the pavers within the square? Maybe it's not an issue (as long as they don't run over anyone :P)
  24. I love that TT is moving toward residential, but fear K&D. I live in a K&D building and they are absolutely terrible landlords. They do not have capacity to maintain their current portfolio and there's no way they can keep TT in the condition it needs to be--they can't even clean out the planters outside 1717 or fix the elevators at Reserve. As a tenant at TT and leasee of K&D, I'm worried my office may have to move in a few years :(. Let's hope they can prove me wrong! To the folks who asked about elevators, there are two elevator banks. Only the one on the Renaissance-side goes up to 32 (where you switch to elevator to go to observation deck. I imagine they will take the JACK-side one and make it residential, and keep the Ren-side offices/observation deck. It'll be interesting to see what they do with the 10th floor, where you can currently transfer between banks.
