What puzzles me are the Union heads being there. My guess is Cranley will say something to the effect o operating costs and capital costs have robbed our cops and ff of money

Its all anti streetcar people talking tomorrow. Odds are overwhelmingly against it being positive news for the streetcar. Hope for the best but expect the worst

At least 50 petitions have been returned full(Much much more coming in). 24 signatures per petition. That's 1200 signatures(with much much more coming in) Over 700 petitions are still out there collecting

What's done is done. We'll have plenty of time to stew over what when wrong later. For now, the focus needs to be on signatures and letters to Flynn/Mann I really hope we are constantly talking to the feds as well behind the scenes

The city definitely can afford to build the project with all of its own money. Paying for the entire project and operations out of the existing budget would increase its current burden on the capital and operations budget from approximately 1% to approximately 2%. But but... 700wlw said we would instantly become Bankrupt and 'worse than Detroit' If the streetcar is built

To be honest, I'm glad John Isn't letting us in on everything behind the scenes… If we don't know, there's a good chance COAST/Smitherman/Cranley don't know as well. That's a good thing. We'll all find out in due time. Until then, sign a petition, help get the word out, donate and volunteer!

Feds have ego's too. We'll see Cranley is going to tout this stunt as 'a win for taxpayers' when he runs for congress.

I don't care what it takes. 1 week of cranley + council was disastrous…Imagine 4 years. A recall is necessary and I believe that if/when the streetcar is cancelled, city services will be completely gutted to pay off litigation, bonds, & closing out costs. People will be furious at Cranley and his lemmings

The game is rigged guys. It's all about collecting signatures and praying the feds don't pull the money

No mention of return on investment of finishing vs ROI of canceling. Unbelievable. So Cranley waits to start for a week knowing they are in a time crunch and they don't include roi or litigation costs

Also he's not looking into the Chris smitherman ethics investigation.

I'm surprised Flynn, an attorney, would make such an unguarded and presumptuous statement. Lends more evidence to believe that A) last week was a total sham and B) this independent study is rigged from the get go

I don't know why. It seems like the local media has forgotten to follow up on this. Exactly. Cranley is generating 2-3 if not more news stories per day. He's overwhelming the system. Any intention to work on the morning's outlandish activity is overwhelmed by whatever craziness he causes that afternoon. Interesting you mention this. Fox19 had a Streetcar segment and ended with John cranley stating "I don't know what they'll do(Streetcar supporters) if the federal government remove the money" Now he's gotta "small business initiative"segment. He's everywhere Why isn't there a mayoral recall initiative to go along with this Streetcar charter? Saves everyone time

Why isn't curp looking into smitherman's ethics problem?

If there was ever a candidate for a recall, John Cranley would be it. Attempting to Flush $100mil down the drain, open up the city for lawsuits, damage the relationship with feds, Encourage the layoffs of 200 workers, Ram ordinances into law with appropriations to avoid referendums, & try to silence council members...All week 1

I brought up this question as well and have received no response. The charter makes no sense unless council approves construction again before Dec 19. If they don't, this is all for nothing.

Imo The only thing that can save this project is pressure from the business communit. They can influence Mann and flynn. We're finally starting to see it That said the odds have still got to be on the opponents side

Any news on flynn and what he's thinking? We are going to need 6 votes to restart construction again regardless
