  1. What 700wlw, politicians & the Enquirer did with the streetcar message should be a study in human psychology. They took control of the issue from the beginning with propaganda & extreme quotes, and now the people feel some emotional attachment even to the mere mention of the word.
  2. She knows that streetcars are light rail, right? And that the tracks we're building can serve any kind of light rail train? Grade-separating the next phase would make this abundantly clear, weakening many opposition taking-points. We've destroyed countless opposition talking points over the years. It doesn't matter. They just keep on making up new ones
  3. She knows that streetcars are light rail, right? And that the tracks we're building can serve any kind of light rail train? She said she 'likes light rail' but that the region will never support it. She's a full supporter of BRT first On 55krc, she said that she's not sure the streetcars can go up Vine street when there is snow or ice on the ground She also said there's a possibility there could be no ROI on the streetcar phase 1 Brian Thomas also said 'To hell with City Council' while she laughed...and laughed...and laughed
  4. The momentum is shifting in Cincinnati...We need to capitalize on it Here's yet another Enquirer article that's pro-Light Rail...This time from a Conservative 'A Conservative argument for Light Rail in Cincinnati' http://news.cincinnati.com/article/20140203/EDIT02/302030020 …
  5. Looking at some of the Enquirer editorial and staff twitter feeds, its apparent that they are sick of the COAST/700wlw/Smitherman antics as well Meanwhile COAST comes out against regional transportation(Shocking)
  6. Peter Bronson at it again: http://www.cincymagazine.com/Main/Articles/3972.aspx
  7. Bill Cunningham 1/28/14 to PG Sittenfeld 1/28/14 to PG Sittenfeld 1/28/14 1/22/14 referring to Channel 5 news anchor Sheree Paolello 1/27/14 12/5/08 1/27/14 2/24/11 1/20/14 Christopher Smitherman 1/27/14 1/24/14 1/23/14 Brian Thomas 1/23/14 Scott Sloan 1/17/14 1/17/14 on the Death Penalty
  8. Does anyone know the true story of the oil line running under vine? Smitherman and Brian thomas seem to think its physically impossible to connect to uptown on Vine Street because of some 'massive oil line'? Thomas even suggested in the past that only a Swedish company is capable of moving that line if the streetcar is extended
  9. Absolutely
  10. AM radio will do that to your brain
  11. Meeting today at one to discuss streetcar progress with tea party chair amy Murray
  12. Let's be honest here. Cranley, smitherman, winburn and murray will never, ever ever ever, support the streetcar on any way during their terms. They have shifted to stopping phase 1b at all costs while simultaneously trying to major 1a as unsuccessful as possible The good news is that we have a supermajority of council that wants to see it extended to clifton. The bad news is the the mayor will go to extreme lengths to see it never happens
  13. I don't think kasich or Jones will try anything in an election year. .. I'm more worried about Cranley telling the feds he doesn't want any future money out of spite to make phase 1a as unsuccessful as possible
  14. Murray does not have an independent thought in her body. She is an extension of 700wlw and 55krc. Whatever they say, she says. Whatever they want, she wants. She will literally go along with any idea they have and vote accordingly. She is a lost cause for any kind of compromise along with smitherman and winburn
  15. WLWT.com ‏@WLWT 37m Video: Shop owner says Cincinnati Streetcar construction is hurting businesses http://on.wlwt.com/LlJcAO
  16. The question is did Cranley break charter law of interference? Stiles said he had private conversations with cranley about key personnel.
  17. It's rare when pro rail and anti rail forces agree on transit. The eastern corridor is one of those issues. Both sides seem firmly against the road and rail proposals
  18. UC studies are flawed…but only when they are analyzing the streetcar or rail
  19. WCPO sports reporter is now taking shots at the streetcar and compares it to the bengals not selling out sunday http://www.wcpo.com/news/opinion/dj-mike-brown-sees-short-turnaround-time-not-lingering-resentment-the-issue-with-ticket-sales Everything is the streetcar's fault
  20. Your man smitherman just called rob Richardson a communist on twitter
  21. C. Smitherman ‏@voteSmitherman 4h It's unfortunate that informed responsible voters were bamboozled by Council candidates who flip-flopped on anti-streetcar promises. Someone got some sour grapes for XMas Judging by that tweet, I agree with that earlier poster that Smitherman & COAST are planning a mayoral and city council recall charter amendment…EDIT: And COAST just retweeted the Bus Courier. This pretty much confirms it they are launching some kind of ballot initiative for recall and/or to stop all future streetcar phases
  22. Check out the hashtag #700wlwmeltdown on Twitter if you want to see how ridiculous the opposition has gotten
  23. Sounds about right. Their egos are shattered.
  24. The streetcar debate has really opened up people's eyes. The support is higher for regional rail than anytime I can remember. Whether it's a majority of voters, I have no idea. I talked to countless suburbanites who were against the streetcar but for light rail.... Whether or not they were genuine is another story
  25. Might I add my two cents... We need to continue this momentum and strike while the iron is hot. All the media minus hate radio , 6 members of council, fta, sorta, and big time companies/non profits all want this to succeed. Now is the time to start figuring out the exact details and funding costs of the uptown route. Everything is on our side right now and, as we all know, that can change in a heartbeat -kasich and the state legislators are going to be concerned with getting elected. Cranley will have less help from them trying to meddle with the project -coast, Westside coalition, smitherman and the rest are publicly admitting defeat... But as we all know, their egos will not allow them to quit -supporters are fired up and the contact of 11,000 are immediately on file. Engage them and use their passion to continue to outreach to other neighborhoods (particularly African American ones). There is no doubt in my mind coast, smitherman and Cranley have a plan to collect signatures for preventing future phases somehow. We need to be ready for that. Everyone is fired up and on the same page against the CAVEmen(citizens against virtually everything ). Prominent media, businesses, feds, supporters.... It's time to get a detailed plan with facts and figures up the hill and try to secure more fed funding imo
