Northeast Ohio: Regionalism News & Discussion
I've heard a little about that, but have been working too much to meet my UO obligations! Are they talking merging with Cleveland or just one new suburb? Either way, at least it's something. I started a facebook group to talk about merging aspects of Cleveland together, but haven't had the time write up the basics of the page, so it's private for the time being. If anyone wants to join and help get things moving, let me know!

I'll be buying something, too, for the lady! Hope to see more stores come downtown, soon...

Cleveland: Filling in Euclid Avenue
Thanks! Was thinking maybe it'd be a place for Joe, but glad to hear it's for a good cause, nonetheless!

Cleveland: Filling in Euclid Avenue
Wow! Looks great. I knew NOTHING about that project, but I think i drove by it yesterday. What's it for?

Cleveland: Little Italy: Development and News
Check it out. As with any Urban City, you nee to be cautious. Period. This part of E. Cleveland is prime for redevelopment. I've hung out there during the day and didn't really see anything fishy. Not so much with the nighttime walking yet unfortunately...

What's the safety like along that Circle 118 to Coltman 27 and Rapid area? I'm sure it's fine, but my inner suburb (hard to unlearn 20-some years of brainwashing!) sees that East Cleveland is right around the corner. The lady and I plan on renting for a year or two downtown, but are keeping an eye out on Battery Park and University Circle construction for when we buy.

Well I'm happy to stand corrected! Can't wait to see how Uptown meshes with all of this.

Cleveland: Little Italy: Development and News
Awesome! I heard Circle 118 wasn't doing as hot... Maybe it's the "different" design? Hope sales improve!

Cleveland: Filling in Euclid Avenue
I'm not down with that! I love what I'm seeing going down on Euclid. Would like to see some of those abandon buildings between Playhouse Square and E.9th get renovated, but I'm confident time will see those buildings are put to good use!

Huzzah! P.S. Apologies if this has been covered, but how are the 27 Coltman townhouses selling?

Ohio Intercity Rail (3C+D Line, etc)
Will do! And yeah... always with the damn political will! I've made a promise with myself that when I grow into a cranky old man and question what young professionals want to do, that I will just shut the Hell up and let them take over. They keep holding us back so that we catch up to more progressive states as they move onto something else. We're like the Wile Coyote of states!

Great! I've been in touch with him in the past and just reached out again.

Hmmmm, how might a young, responsible professional and his attorney girlfriend contact them? :)

Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway: Battery Park
When is Phase 2 supposed to be finished? And is there any talk of putting in some sort of small grocery store/convenient store to serve this growing neighborhood? There's a large, broken down building to the West of the Wine Bar that one of the developers told me they were going to rehab into a grocery store, but I believe plans fell through...

You paying for it? ;)

Ohio Intercity Rail (3C+D Line, etc)
I've tried signing up for their enewsletter, but I always get an error... I'll keep checking in, though! Is there anything being done to promote it on a grand scale? I think Positively Cleveland should work with Experience Columbus and Cincy's tourism bureau to gain support among the 3-C's.

Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway: Battery Park
We care :) I care, since I'm considering moving there in ~2 years. Me, too! I'm assuming you bought? I'd love to rent there for now to see if I want to make the long-term investment, but didn't think they offered rentals.

Ohio Intercity Rail (3C+D Line, etc)
You're new here to UrbanOhio, but you're preaching to the choir in many of your posts ;) I was in Cleveland a couple weeks back for the Reds/Indians game. The entire group I was with kept talking about how great a link between these two cities would be. I obviously agree, but was surprised it wasn't me bringing it up in conversation. Shame on Kasich forever on that one! We will get it eventually, but it sure would've been nice to see the benefits of it over the next four years. Especially with the amount of development and energy going on in the cores of these gorgeous city centers. This was a game changer for Ohio in the minds of many! Keep fighting for it! I'm glad to hear that you had the same sentiments I had visiting Cincy while visiting Cleveland. (And I was actually at two of those Reds beat downs ;)). Was a study ever done to get an estimate on how many more people would do CLE-Cincy or vice verse if rail were created? Thus, an estimate could be made on the economic impact of these tourists or frequent visitors. I know opponents said nobody would ride it, but I think the "cranky old man" voices were simply louder than our modest "yeah, we'd ride it" voices. And does anyone know where rail stands now in Ohio? I think I read on here that Cincy has to do more voting for their street car and that a route might be created from Youngstown/Warren to Pittsburgh.

Ohio Intercity Rail (3C+D Line, etc)
So where does Ohio stand now on supporting rail? I know there's the advocacy group "All Aboard Ohio," but is there any realistic timeline for getting intercity rail in Ohio? I had a great time visiting Cincy last week, but rush hour on 71 made me beg for a freakin' train to drop from the sky and take me the rest of the way!

Northeast Ohio: Regionalism News & Discussion
Heard something briefly on NPR this morning about some politicians bringing up the discussion of consolidating some Ohio towns as well as services. Governor Kasich is apparently starting a committee of some sort to study the impact of this, so he can sell the positives to the people. It sounded like pretty much everything we've been talking about. Anybody have more on this?

Cleveland: Demolition Watch
Maybe post some fliers surrounding the current Sloane location and contact local media to do a story on it. They won't want to have any media showcasing angry protestors!

Cleveland: Demolition Watch
That would be my guess, but I'm sure they don't want negative news.
