  1. The more I think about it, I feel like this is excellent. This would totally set gasoline to the fire of riverfront development. It would be INSANE. Watch how many developments sprout up around there if this happens. And if the JC gets built on the Jacobs lot, that crater is gone too. It’s a win win win for everyone as long as the county doesn’t wet the bed. And from the Hilton development and the County HQ development, I have more faith today that they could pull this off in a timely fashion than I would have a few years ago
  2. I’m just so happy that this thing looks like it may finally get done that I’m not going to nitpick. Nucleus is really going to be transformational
  3. Keep that same energy when your skepticism ends up being proven wrong
  4. I trust those with actual sources and not scared of our own shadow speculation, so until I hear something concerning from those here that we KNOW are plugged in, I’m ok
  5. Based on your sources, what are the odds that SHW can get a deal done for the location they want? I can’t imagine that the county would effectively screw this up by now letting SHW be wherever the hell they want to be
  6. Why can’t we have both? There’s a sea of parking lots in that area. The JC can be ambitious as hell (in fact, I hope it is. Let that bring some economic growth too) but out of the way of SHW. I don’t see why the JC HAS to be on Public Square. There’s plenty of parking lots to build on over there. I don’t get why they feel like it has to be on PS, if true
  7. There’s only been two Fortune 500 companies that left Cleveland. And I’ll make this brief, but just as a philosophical note, there is a climate among some Clevelanders that is obsessed with our past and while we need to respect our past, we need to be focused on making better today’s so that we can have better tomorrows. This is not 50 years ago. It’s just not. And the more that we continue to look back to see what we used to be, the less time we spend on what we can be TODAY. Just because we lost battles in the past doesn’t mean we have to lose this one here. We have got to stop being afraid of our own shadow and step into our mantle and rightful place of one of America’s great cities. Period. Yes, we lost 2 Fortune 500 companies in the last 50 years. That does not mean we have to lose this one right now in SHW. Focus on the present and the future. That’s all I’m saying.
  8. I can add to this. I am currently in the market and I have no desire or intention to live outside of the city limits. But UC is not on my list of potential neighborhoods to move to because of that exact reason. There’s not enough stores/shops, there isn’t enough entertainment options (I like to go out) and I want a little more. I do find UC lacking in those areas. I love the neighborhood, but for me it’s still somewhere to visit, not to live
  9. Announcement coming today, for real?!
  10. I’m not clicking on that and giving them traffic, but it seems like they didn’t even mention SHW staying in Cleveland as a possibility when it’s the most likely option
  11. That should be @KJP‘s new name from here on out, Kenny Scoops! Lol
  12. It needs to be in the CBD but the whole PS thing is new. It doesn’t HAVE to be there, I don’t think
  13. Thank you! People with proven sources have said it’s very likely they’re staying and very likely they’re staying in downtown. Why are we burying the lede here people?!
  14. AEG now runs the Agora itself and put millions of dollars in the rehab so it actually makes sense
  15. I would think that there’s value in getting more office tenants in the Higbee building. And especially if they’re getting them from outside of the city, you bet your ass they care about covered parking. If this attracts more business to the property, this isn’t a bad thing. They say potential tenants complain about the lack of covered parking and I could completely believe that
  16. Gotta vote you down again. You never contribute anything positive to any conversation you insert yourself into. Ever. I can’t be the only one annoyed with this
  17. I didn’t even think about people like you. How many people in the area work for major companies from home who would consider working in a place like this? Could be huge
  18. One of the worst writers in the city
  19. So let’s put a gun to their head and try to make them do it a certain way and then watch them walk out of the door. That’s stupid. It can be put on the table but it’s not as important as keeping them here
