Cleveland: Downtown: Skyline 776 (City Club Apartments)
I am glad someone else called out her boots. Seriously underwhelming on the inside. The finishes are not what I would have expected with this building, but it seems like the amenities will be an added plus for this part of downtown.

Youngstown-Warren: Random Development and News
Not Youngstown, but down in Columbiana County, the Thompson Building in East Liverpool got awarded funds through TMUD yesterday: "The Thompson Building (Columbiana County) Total Development Cost: $2,129,500 Total Tax Credit: $212,950 The East Liverpool Community Improvement Corporation, in partnership with other public and private entities, is proposing the historic rehabilitation of the vacant and dilapidated Thompson Building located in the East Liverpool Downtown Historic District. Also supported by federal and state historic tax credits, this mixed-use redevelopment project includes residential, office, and retail uses that will help diversify the local economy, increase access to community healthcare services, and increase downtown foot traffic. The Thompson Building project will act as an anchor to reactivate East Liverpoolʼs downtown, support adjacent businesses, and catalyze future development projects within the surrounding area. The project is expected to result in approximately 20 construction jobs and the creation of approximately 63 permanent jobs at the project site." They were also awarded money from JobsOhio's Vibrant Communities program of $600,000. This is a project I have worked closely with partners in NE Ohio on. There is a developer out of Pittsburgh who is interested in the property. It will be mixed-use with a partnership with the city hospital for job creation and apartments on the upper floors. There have been some bigger movements of properties in the downtown area in the last handful of years. https://www.google.com/maps/@40.6200929,-80.5792866,3a,75y,149.74h,100.43t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sQtKcxBDkc60PKsDEr_gwGg!2e0!7i16384!8i8192?authuser=0&entry=ttu

Philadelphia: Developments and News
^Great looking building and fits very nicely on such a narrow parcel. The view coming into Center City on JFK along the Schuylkill looks much different now than 3 years ago.

Ohio LGBTQ+ News
The fact that they can even say stuff like this is insane. The Republicans want a war. We should give them a war. They have ruled the State of Ohio for decades and have nothing to show for it. The state is just now a bigger West Virginia. While they tell families what to do with their children (biggest hypocrites), Ohio was ranked as one of the 10 least healthy states in the nation. They are complete failures on every level. They are desperate.

Youngstown-Warren: Random Development and News
Looks like 20 Federal Place received $10 million in Ohio Historic Tax Credits in round 31 announced today: Strouss-Hirshberg Company Building (Youngstown) Total Project Cost: $82,137,690 Total Tax Credit: $10,000,000 Address: 14-28 Federal Plaza W., Youngstown, OH 44505 A fixture in downtown Youngstown, the Strouss Hirshberg Department Store operated in this building from its construction in 1926 until 1987. After that, the building was converted for smaller retail tenants and offices on the upper floors. Work will be undertaken on the exterior to reinstate the historic storefront configuration, repair the masonry, and replace the windows. The former arcade will be reinstated on the interior. After the project is complete, there will be 157 residential units above first-floor retail, second-floor office, and parking space in the basement.

I agree, but Ohio has now become one of those states. Far right Republican, poor, uneducated. Welcome to the Buckeye State.

Columbus: Downtown: The Madison / 100 North High
I didn't even see your comment while viewing the pictures in the post above and immediately thought this building looks like it might do a better job at actually matching the buildings on each side at their frontage better than City Club. What does the ground floor retail plans look like for this?

Ohio LGBTQ+ News
Well Ohio has become poorer, less educated, and is more of a laughingstock under their leadership. As someone who works in economic development - the only thing these so called leaders like to promote at every single conference is Intel. It doesn't matter if you're in Youngstown or Toledo, just Intel. This leadership does nothing for the state, status quo as it always has been. But now that Ohio is poorer and less educated than a lot of its competitors, they can always appease the Ohio voter by going after drag shows. They really are idiots.

Ohio Abortion / Reproductive Health News
Personal insults are weak. You're trying way too hard for an internet forum. So if posters take a stronger defense to what you're saying, there is absolutely no justification for that kind of response. Again, this has been your kind of response many times in the past. The problem is very few people on here are saying otherwise. We get that both parties throw tantrums, but what the Republicans are doing now (the whole point to this thread and the conversation) is more than just a tantrum. It's not even that they are acting poorly, they are outright wrong in the handling of this. Ohioans by a large margin voted Yes. They don't like the outcomes, and we have the governor himself saying they are going to look into it. Very vague. So as much as you want to paint the Democrats as acting morally superior, you see it way more often with the Republicans as of late. The way you word your posts, you try to play even playing field, but it reeks of: ok maybe the Republicans do wrong sometimes, but the Democrats are really bad and do much worse. How anyone can see otherwise I just don't get. The desperation politics being played by the Republicans is ridiculous.

Ohio Abortion / Reproductive Health News
Why is it oftentimes when someone disagrees with you or you strongly disagree with them that you immediately go the critical thinking/reading route? Many of us just lurk on here and get to read a lot of what you spew, and this has happened time and time again. Makes your points seem even weaker with personal insults. Also, it's interesting how people are calling out the Republicans for the crap they are pulling now after the election (specific to this thread and what Ohio voted on), but more times than not you are quick to call out that Republicans AND Democrats (need to throw in a dig at the Dems) all do this. No one here is saying otherwise. It's quite obvious that desperate antics are pulled on both sides, but this is a whole new level in which Ohio Republicans are trying to go against what the voters had a direct say in. You mention that certain Republicans are just mad. No, the people leaving the Vote No signs out along the side of the road are mad. These Republicans in the Statehouse certainly seem to have other ideas. You can pretend to sit there and think they may feel this way or say this or that, but there is no telling what they are trying to do behind the scenes. With how desperate Ohio Republicans are getting, I wouldn't put much past them at this point.

Ohio Abortion / Reproductive Health News
This new far right Republican party is a serious danger to democracy. Can you imagine if the Democrats started pulling some of these antics after an election? These far right wingers would be out in the streets protesting with their guns. This issue passed with a Yes by double percentage points. Now, in typical Ohio Republican fashion, they don't like the results so they want to see how they can tweak the law. You're just going to piss more people off. There are also voters out there claiming to be Libertarian, but at the same time saying No to Issue 1. If that is the case, you are not Libertarian, you are a conservative Republican. Get these people out of office.

Cleveland: Downtown: Skyline 776 (City Club Apartments)
I look at the City Club construction cam more than I would like to admit throughout the week. It does look like they are working on level 23 today. Is this a residential floor or the amenity level?

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
Interestingly enough talking about San Francisco - I noticed in the crib cam from Cleveland Water that there might be a marine layer over downtown this morning? Is it fog? https://www.webcamtaxi.com/en/usa/ohio/cleveland-watercrib-cam.html ^When it is clear out you can really see the core starting to rise on the skyline. This is the closest to a webcam outside of this thread that we are going to get. 🙂

Cleveland: Population Trends
No, I don't think you were. You even managed to throw a dig at Cleveland with the 5,000 remark. Just like you were making smart little comments about "other cities in the sta.... region..." in other threads. You make little negative comments about Cleveland in many threads. It gets really old.

Cleveland: University Circle (General): Development and News
^100% it will have a nice impact and add density in an area that it is needed. One thing I will say in regards to this development and the rowhomes is how disappointing that they will tear them down in place of a surface lot fronting Cedar Avenue according to their site plans in KJP's article. Wish the could incorporate them somehow and hide the surface lot some.

Cleveland: Ohio City: INTRO (Market Square / Harbor Bay Development)
^I see a few cranes at work in that shot. It's also nice to see the new Irish Bend Park is starting to be cleared as evidenced by all the downed trees.

New Albany: Ohio One (Intel Semiconductor Facility)
MissinOhio replied to cbussoccer's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionSo excited for Columbus and Central Ohio on this one. I just received an email not long ago: "Please join the Northeast Ohio Region for a viewing party of a momentous economic development announcement for the state of Ohio. We’ll be simulcasting the announcement from Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and Lt. Governor Jon Husted along with JobsOhio on Friday, January 21 at 2:30 pm."

The amount of density underway in eastern Center City between Market and Chestnut is very impressive!

I was just in Greenpoint and surprised by the amount of towers that have gone up along the waterfront there.

Cleveland: Downtown: nuCLEus
The parking lots right there are not a good look, but what other city? There's plenty to choose from. Look at Philadelphia's MLB stadium: https://www.google.com/maps/@39.9051534,-75.1720825,3a,75y,35.05h,94.28t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sB7ovTXHa6lTi7Fvjy-omqA!2e0!7i16384!8i8192?hl=en ^That is literally a half block from a station on the Broad Street subway line. What about Detroit: https://www.google.com/maps/@42.3386312,-83.0503395,3a,75y,239.63h,94.62t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1szVeBFi5podCGcJ66bRnFIw!2e0!7i16384!8i8192?hl=en

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
I miss the old Love Park. The redesign is too cold and sterile. The difference between the Love Park example and Sherwin-Williams is this SHW pavilion is actually going to be attached to a world headquarters across a street via a pedestrian bridge. It will most likely be off limits to the public and have very little interaction with the surrounding area. Let's hope they have a really good landscape architect help flow their design into Public Square's.

Quick Trip through Cincinnati, 7/15/21
Thank you, Oliver! You really gave me some great ideas. I parked under Washington Park and took the streetcar to the riverfront. After that I went to French Crust Bistro and enjoyed my brunch. The weather was great and it was nice to see Cincinnati again. I didn't have much time, but I really want to explore more of Findlay Market. After spending four days in Nashville, you really start to appreciate the authenticity of a city like Cincy.

Quick Trip through Cincinnati, 7/15/21
I will be heading down to Nashville this coming Thursday. The plan is to stop in Cincinnati and do some exploring downtown and OTR. I haven't been down to Cincinnati since 2019. What good options for Thursday for say a decent brunch in OTR? I figured I could take the streetcar between the riverfront and OTR and any areas in between. I am essentially looking for the following: -A good area to park and just take the streetcar in between. -Some place to grab brunch/lunch after checking out downtown and the riverfront. -Anything worth seeing in Findlay Market? -Any disruptions in the general basin area to be aware of: construction, closures, etc? Thank you for any ideas.
