Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
Is it true that Cincinnati got turned down for the extra money for the streetcar?

Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
Isn't theirs just a light rail system that doesn't go anywhere else besides the downtown? I could be wrong. At least this is a start, and I am pretty pumped that this is happening in Cincinnati. When is construction going to start? I am moving back to Ohio mid December and plan on stopping in Cincinnati, and seeing this underconstruction would be pretty kickass.

Akron: Random Development and News
Yes you do. If you don't, downtown Akron will continue to look like it did yesterday when I visited: shiny and clean but devoid of people. Well maybe it being Sunday had something to do with it? I haven't been to downtown Akron since I was in like 4th grade so I have no clue what to expect there 7 days out of the week.

Cleveland: Cleveland State University: Development and News
Hey everyone, I know it's not a big deal, but I still get emails sent to my one account from CSU. This is one I got the other day about parking on campus due to the new construction. CAMPUS VILLAGE CONSTRUCTION UPDATE The University anticipates that construction on the Campus Village Development project will begin on Monday, November 7th, 2011. The impact to on-campus parking will be as follows: Lot S3 will shrink by 265 parking spaces. We encourage those affected to park in South Garage, built to accommodate the loss of parking for Campus Village. Lot S2 will shrink and Lot J will close for a loss of 171 spaces for Campus Village. Lots S2 and S3 will now accept pre-paid hangtags only. NOTE: Due to the construction, Lots S2 and S3 must be accessed off of East 21st street at Payne Court. Prepaid hangtags are still available for Fall semester! Log into your CampusNet account and students may post your parking fees to your student account. You may also purchase a prepaid hangtag in the Parking & Transportation Services office on the corner of East 24th and Euclid. Thank you for your patience and cooperation during this new age of development in downtown Cleveland. For complete, updated information, check the Parking & Transportation website at http://www.csuohio.edu/parking.

Columbus: Downtown: Discovery District / Warehouse District / CSCC / CCAD Developments and News
MissinOhio replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionI honestly would think when you move on, you would forget about an area. When I leave Florida next month, the state without a soul, the nasty swamp, one big retirement community... you can bet I will not be looking in on some Florida development page wondering what is going on in Jacksonville or Tampa every chance I can get. No offense to Keith, I do not know you and wish you well in your new home, but you do nothing but bash Columbus and point out its faults. You have numerous threads at SSP titled "forgotten Columbus" and bash the city and say you never understand it. The threads of your new home focus on nothing but its strengths. I wouldn't expect a German Village, Victorian Village, Short North, downtown development in the Arena District of Scioto Mile, OSU's campus and surrounding area, or the other great neighborhoods in Columbus. Yet you post all these chain places that have nothing to offer but wide roads, something you find EVERYWHERE in this country, but focus on putting Columbus down. Focus on your new home, and forget Columbus all together. Do yourself, and everyone in Columbus a favor and move on. That's what moving is all about, isn't it?

Youngstown-Warren: Random Development and News
I certainly hope so, especially after the last census. Ouch! I am pretty excited to be going to school back home and watch my home area show signs of growth. I just think the neighborhoods in Youngstown have a very, very long way to go. Youngstown 2010 seems pretty stagnant. Am I wrong?

Hello Everyone
Ya, my mom is actually a nurse at Salem Community Hospital.

Hello Everyone
Sorry I am taking so long to respond back. I'm from Columbiana down in Columbiana County. A town of a little over 6,000, growing, and a good place to grow up.

Columbus: Downtown: Discovery District / Warehouse District / CSCC / CCAD Developments and News
MissinOhio replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionI'm new to the site, but have been a long time lurker. I have wondered the same thing. You move, but you still bash/put down Columbus. Let me guess, the other Midwestern downtown is Minneapolis, right? Honestly, I figured if you love MSP so much, you would forget about Columbus and move on...

Cleveland: Downtown: A.J. Celebrezze Federal Building Renovation
I had asked about this building earlier, and did a little research and pinpointed the same sentence as you. I noticed the article was from January if I remember correctly, and I didn't know if they meant construction was suppose to start next summer as in 2011 or summer of 2012.

Cleveland: University Circle: Uptown (UARD)
Thanks, that's what I thought. It is crazy to see these pictures. Last time I walked down this section of Euclid was to go to the Blue Fig and catch the Healthline back to CSU and it was nothing but surface parking. All great to see!

CLEVELAND - Columbus Day 2011
Great stuff!

Cleveland: University Circle: Uptown (UARD)
Phase 2 consists of the parking across Euclid from MOCA, right?

Cleveland: Downtown: May Company Building
Yes, I took that class. I agree 100%. None of my friends (except us urban geeks) knew about the other lines of the rapid. The only time my friends would ride the public transit was if we would take the Healthline downtown to Barroom or if we went down to University Circle, Little Italy, etc. If you are going to pay for an RTA pass in your tuition, you should teach the students about its offerings and how great it is. There are so many cool neighborhoods that are connected by the rail.

Bellefonte, Pennsylvania
Great stuff! Pennsylvania is such an awesome state.

Cleveland Casino site and environs
Well one positive is Cleveland isn't turning to just its casino for activity downtown like Detroit did when they built theirs. This casino is just going to add to the already busy entertainment districts scattered throughout downtown from the Warehouse District, East 4th neighborhood, and Playhouse Square.

Cleveland: Random Development and News
Thanks. Being 1200 miles away, I can't exactly walk down East 9th like I use to and be able to see progress. I don't mean to press the issue, but is there a timeline to completion?

Cleveland: Random Development and News
With the recent changes going on at Crowne Plaza, it made me realize of another possible development in that area of East 9th block. Crown Plaza is getting a complete new facade, what happened with the federal building on 9th getting a new facade? Was that suppose to start soon, or sometime in 2012?

Hello Everyone
Thanks for the welcome! I have seen you on city data before. I have never joined because the people on there are too crazy in my opinion. I am looking forward to getting back in the Youngstown area and help out with this new momentum it has. Whatever I can do to help out, I will do it. I know I am only one person, but every bit helps. I have yet to visit Cortland, but I have heard good things about it.

Hello Everyone
Thanks for the suggestions! I am looking forward to getting back to a state that has "real" cities.

Cleveland: Cleveland State University: Development and News
I am glad to see this development stretching northward now. I lived on campus, so parking was never a problem for me. I would park in the garage that was right by the Inner Belt. That garage filled up quickly real early. Sorry if it is already in the thread, but does anyone know when/if this will start construction? I'm looking forward to visiting CSU again, when I left they had just started construction of the dorms on Euclid, and I never got to see the new student center.

Akron: Random Development and News
Just like you, the only things that I really can remember or saw in downtown Akron were going to an Aeros game.

The Official *I Love Cleveland* Thread
I didn't know where to ask this, but I have a question about Terminal Tower... Why do they not light up the entire tower like they use to before the renovations towards the top? Now that everything is done, they only light up the top of the building. Look at pictures from the early and mid 2000s, the entire tower is lit up and it really adds a lot more to the tower itself.

Daily Cincinnati
Great shots! I am really looking forward to checking Cincinnati out more in December when I move back and will have more time to explore the city. I was only able to check out downtown for a little more than an hour, and I was impressed.

Akron: Random Development and News
Akron is a very exciting city to watch. It is really flying under the radar (are so many other Ohio cities), and I like that. I was always proud when I went to CSU and my friends from Michigan would say how much nicer everything was in Cleveland compared to back home. Then I would travel to Michigan, and I could see what they were talking about lol. I think the roads alone gave me a negative impression of some of the areas. Anyway, when I move back to Ohio at the end of the year, Akron is a city I will really need to check out. Seems like the University of Akron is doing alot in the area too.
