  1. MayDay, I rode the trail from Akron to Cleve. today. I noticed that Szalay's was a madhouse. I was going to check it out, but too many kids! Thanks for the pics.
  2. This is very interesting. Do you suppose they might want the site or the building as it stands? And, what does this say about the commissioners' planning for the admin bldg?
  3. It is the Triangle Cafe.
  4. Sense make post me no edisu klatu baratta nickto.
  5. If BP is out, then that means new construction, right?
  6. Once again, I think thet KJP knows something that he's NOT telling us.
  7. The PD reports that the asking price for Halite is $275,000-business plus building. $100,000 for business only.

Does anyone have any updated pics from phase 5?
  9. I ate at Halite over the weekend. I hadn't been there for quite some time and now I'm wondering why? The food is very good, prices very, very good and it's a very comfortable feel.
  10. Good point Pope. Still, I would've loved to seen the Ameritrust tower built...or something with a similar presence at that location.
  11. The river itself does dry up as pictured, however the Arkansas flow is controlled by several upstream dams that create recreational lakes and divert water to the Catoosa barge channel. It would be very simple to keep water for the 'channels' area with low dams....infact there is already one at about 21st street. Tulsa is or can be a very wealthy city, depending on oil revenues. This project is certainly optimistic....even with $70 oil.
  12. KJP-just curious, did you kinow about this for quite a while? and is this possibly the 'big' project that has been hinted to you by other sources?
  13. I eat frequently at Fat Cats....never had a bad meal there and the serrvice is generally very good. Also, the prices are very reasonable, which is why I go often.
  14. Quick update. The larger building west of 7th is framed in and under roof...I believe that would be the 'management and community center' building. Further north on 7th a number of smaller buildings are in earlier framing stage. The rest of the lot appears prepped and ready for Starkweather Street extension and the remaining homes, apts etc in the Valley View project. Also, they are really attacking the Gospel Press building. Looks like full scale rehab is under way. Not much to report from the outside except that it's good to see work taking place.
  15. That would explain why Shaia sold his property when he was probably in the best position to defend himself from the ED action.
  16. The DFAS building was contemplated for the loop in the WFL. It was 10-12 floors, hardly 500,000. I can't imagine where a second office building would fit in the original scheme. KJP, do you know if there has been any significant changes in the original layout....or is Wolstien cooperating with someone else on the second bldg? perhaps up the hill? Since developers are usually loathe to talk about potential tenants, I have to believe that these buildings are closer to reality then we know.
  17. This appears to be way beyond incompetence/negligence!
  18. Having seen a number of games and losses in Knoxville, I can tell you, they went to old city and PARTIED!!!
  19. Anyone who loves college football should go to Knoxville for a UT game sometime. Without a doubt the best atmosphere and stadium anywhere. Thanks for the pics.
  20. nice pics. I was at the Palace Sunday night for the Zappa does Zappa show. Nice theater, great concert. Also was in Canton Monday night for dinner. Thanks for the pics.

I'm OK with the articles about people moving in from the suburbs....but it's still a little abstract when you're talking about people with loads of money like the good doctor in this article. I want to read about people who buy in the city because they want to live in the city and it's a solid investment.

There is a picture of them in this mornings PD. They are not billboards...I like them.
  23. There were several lift trucks on the east side of the building and the area was yellow taped off. So either someone was going to jump or they were getting ready to do some work...hopefully the later.
  24. Very bad news on Sage...one of my favorites. I was at Lago on Friday and it was excellent. As Mayday said, there appears to be a finite # of bistro style places that can survive in one area.
