Quimbob replied to The_Cincinnati_Kid's post in a topic in Restaurants, Local Events, & EntertainmentI like it. There's that other Indian place down the hill. Maybe they could have cremations along the Mill Creek like they do along the Ganges. http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1175/1299853290_81a3932cd6.jpg

Cincinnati: Restaurant News & Info
Quimbob replied to The_Cincinnati_Kid's post in a topic in Restaurants, Local Events, & EntertainmentThe Grove opens up in the old Kay's location in the lobby of an old theater on Spring Grove Avenue in Northside. This is across from The Painted Fish which is located in the old Gajah Wong. The neighborhood Business Assoc also has a parking lot in that block where Ike semi demolished a building. The Grove was ok - only ate there once. I'll be back. FaceBook page: http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Grove-Northside/136947972997524?v=info Fishwrap article (not really a review): http://cincinnati.com/blogs/dining/2010/12/21/vegmeat-split-on-menu-in-northside/ Melt has added a new oven speeding up prep. Picnic & Pantry (next door) has a "food bar". Northslice has opened up a dining room in addition to their sidewalk window service.

If Kasich isn't lying, he's saying he doesn't know. I believe Ohio is actually a receiver state nowadays, like $1.01 maybe. local TV coverage is so wimpy. I think Atherton had something to say but WLWT calls the shots.- Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
Just watched a bit of one of the open meetings. College Hill? One guy urged the committee to keep on with the streetcar because it was terribly important to the future of the city. He got a smattering of applause. Tom Luken was more incoherent than usual. Claimed to be Pavlov's dog or something. Clearly didn't understand committee rules, refused to shut up & got a healthy round of applause.- Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
"In the 1870's, Cincinnati was a booming town. A city looking to grow, not shrink. During that time, amidst much fanfare, the city overwhelmingly approved issuing $10 million in bonds in order to build the Cincinnati Southern Railroad." Would state law allow this nowadays? I'm thinking of the waterworks & how the state won't allow the city to expand it's reach.- Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
There were quite a few collisions resulting in multiple deaths. I would think that a prank that disabled a mass transit vehicle would get a headline, tho. Unless it was a real common event, in which case people wouldn't have used the dang things. It's starting to sound like one armed brakeman stuff to me.- Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
The story goes that kids put motor oil or grease on streetcar tracks and it made the vehicles slide & careen down hills & such. I skimmed newspaper headlines from 1890-1950 & found nothing along those lines. Lotta car/streetcar collisions, people getting run over, a couple derailments & a brake failure... Is there any truth to the story?- Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
Considering all the crime, death & mayhem that will follow the streetcar, naming one after Charles Manson would probably be appropriate.- Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
Livable Communities committee voted on easing up parking minimums along the streetcar route 11/23. Winburn voted against it. Somebody else voted against it but I couldn't tell who (on TV). Seems kinda spiteful. Bortz abstained/recused.- Dayton: Restaurant News & Info
Has anybody tried out The Laughing Noodle in Springfield? It's part of White Castle. WC is trying out some new items / themes at a few stores. http://thelaughingnoodle.com/- Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
I think the only thing 3CDC didn't like about the streetcar was that it might cut into their funding.- Cincinnati: General Transit Thread
From a COA T standpoint, one would have to ask, "Which boondoggle?"- John Boehner
http://www.snopes.com/politics/pelosi/jet.asp "mostly false" Of course that wouldn't stop the Enquirer.....- Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
Well that ought to clear it up for everyone. Luken is using a trash container to spew his garbage. How appropriate. :drunk: recycling bin - they do make good lecterns, tho, don't they? yeesh, Miller can't even get the fool to shut up.- Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
^dear God, somebody direct him to a 17 & send him on home.- Governor John Kasich
Maybe it's not so premature. "Kasich to Strickland: Cancel all passenger rail contracts" http://cincinnati.com/blogs/politics/2010/11/08/kasich-to-strickland-cancel-all-passenger-rail-contracts/- Governor John Kasich
sure he's not yawning? Has he come up with anything specific on the 3C train? I certainly think it needs more thought than what has already gone in. But if he just thinks it's stupid. Well....- Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
From COA T, “Nobody dies by using little recycling bins instead of big ones,” it says, in part. ” Nobody dies if the trolley is delayed until the economy improves. But somebody is eventually going to die if city leaders keep cutting core services to fund more boondoggles. When that happens, the guilty will be held to account. Jeff Berding and Chris Bortz, we’ll be gunning for you. Cecil Thomas and Wendell Young, their blood will be on your hands. Roxanne Qualls and Mayor Mallory, how will you explain yourselves to the families of the fallen?” Apparently Halloween really inspired 'em. http://cincinnati.com/blogs/politics/2010/11/08/coast-public-safety-or-trolley-boondoggle/- 2010 Gubernatorial Election
Kasich should do pretty well. When the economic meltdown started, financial experts predicted it would run it's course in a few years. Dems got elected into the free fall & now Republicans will be in office when it clears up. Senators & Governors, with longer terms, will do much better than Congressmen.- Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
how? Drug prohibition is a federal issue - the city's / state's hands are tied. School? Crime? Do you think the that's the government's problem? And that it can fix it with less means? liberals.....- 2010 Gubernatorial Election
Libertarians did a good job getting people in the races this year.- Ohio's 1st Congressional District
