Republican Roll Call!
I never voted party line Republican but I have pretty much bailed on those guys & embraced the Libertarians. Some of their ideas are kooky but they certainly don't have a monopoly on that.

Living Car Free
Cincinnati runs the same service on Friday as the rest of the week & Saturday the service is scaled back. No late night service. They get the second shifters home from work & close up shop. I have heard that Minneapolis had service after 2 AM on weekends. Makes perfect sense to me as well as having more frequent services to entertainment centers on weekend evenings.

Forum Software - questions about "SMF"
I was thinking it was memory & then I saw this article http://www.theregister.com/2006/09/08/firefox_bug_analysis/ "A large number of these flaws resulted from the code not checking for null after memory was allocated or reallocated. Memory management issues accounted for the next highest defect count (141 flaws). Failure to check the execution path of code also frequently cropped up as a potential error." Anyway, I might try that extension. I did just load the Web Develpoer extension - That sucker is pretty cool.

Question about Cincinnati neighboorhoods/tour of living
The neighborhood designation can be misleading. The neighborhoods havbe neighborhoods. I live in north Northside & life there is vastly different than in south Northside. Oakley, Mt Lookout & Columbia-Tusculum are all nice. Unless you are rich, Clifton is probably gonna be kinda crowded. Cincinnati just has a small town feel overall, in my estimation. I think that is one of the reasons people are so concerned with crime issues.

Forum Software - questions about "SMF"
Every version of Moz/Firefox I have used on a Mac (8.6-10.4) has problems with long pages of pictures or formatted text. Seems to be a memory issue but I am just guessing. The Ohio Gubenatorial thread will crash me every time. I have no problems with Safari but I don't like that browser much.

Living Car Free
"They got more space too. They converted part of the driveway into a dog run and put a pingpong table on another part." HA! I have been wondering what to do with the driveway.

Living Car Free
"You’ll get to know other residents in your community because you’re no longer zooming through it." yeah, with the doors locked & the windows rolled up, AC on & the stereo palying. This is what really got me when I went car free. Even if I didn't stop & meet people I just felt like I was more a part of the communities I worked and lived in.

Cincinnati: Crime & Safety Discussion
I overheard someone in a crowd say "I felt really safe, nobody asked me for money" Apparently people feel endangered by people asking for money ?

The Steps of Cincinnati
Apparently there is a driveway at the bottom that is on city property as well. The pathway is also used by utility crews. Even if the daggone steps are closed and removed there is still a path. In the meeting the Keys Crescent residents indicated they would leave town if he steps were not closed.

The Steps of Cincinnati
I am guessing the crime is being perpetrated by a small group of young people who will gradually move on. If the steps contributed to crime the crime would have started to escalate 80 years ago when they were built. yeah this is stupid

The "Apple Macintosh" Discussion Thread
Amazon is now selling videos to download. Requires WMP which is ok. Requires WinXP, too. Which is lame. Is Microsoft unable to do anything without system level hooks ?

Cincinnati: Crime & Safety Discussion
I think Thomas also tightened up the rules on teen dances & has tried to get stairways closed down. When I hear him speak, I wonder how many times he has been hit in the head.

if you were to publish an urban magazine...
http://www.citybeat.com/current/index.shtml This is one in Cincinnati I hate the layout of the website but I think the content is fairly intact. The print publication is tabloid style on newsprint.

Cincinnati: American Sign Museum
I think Camp Washington would be a good fit for the museum. They will need good signage to direct people there. But, who better to do that ? There is a ton of deveopment going on around Colerain at the Hopple St Exit. Cincinnatians might actually one day know where the Camp is.
