  1. Apple has frequently been in the top 5 of computer makers. Consumer Reports usually has them 1st in least repairs & best customer support The weird thing about their overall market share is that they sell more computers at <5% market share than they did back when they had 99% market share. :-) That being said. The one thing I cannot get to run on Fedora Core 4 (that really bugs me) is Adobe Acrobat Reader. Anybody else have any luck with that one ?

The stadiums are on the south edge of downtown. OTR is just north of downtown. Any of the north-south streets downtown will take you up to Over The Rhine. Dewey's Pizza in various locations. Notably in Clifton (north of OTR) & Newport on the Levee across the river in Newport KY. The Netherlands hotel is nice. They might get rattled if you order a Bloody Mary for breakfast, tho. The Vernon Manor is ok, too. Neither are cheap.

Bricks and Mortar - the Jam 1977 Bricks and mortar, reflecting social change, Cracks in the pavement, reveal cravings for success Why do we try to hide our past By pulling down houses and build car parks Windows and mirrors like a two-way glass This is progress, nothing stands in its path Yellow bulldozers, the donkey jackets and J.C.B.'s While hundreds are homeless they're constructing a parking space Why do they have to knock them down And leave the site dormant for months on end? Who has the right to make that choice? WHEN MODERN HOUSES cost forty grand Tell me! Bricks and mortar, bricks and mortar Knock 'em down! ok, the 40 grand refers to 1977 pounds & it would sound fine on banjo
  4. I have heard the same sentiment about Acer before. Get a Mac. If you are runing WinXP you can load it on the Mac legally. and before you start whining about how expensive Macs are.... Look at your Acer

Javascript You can also use CSS scripting. There is a way to do this that doesn't require a button but I don't know how to do that. In the head for each pull down: <script language="javascript"> function GenPag(form){ window.open(form.general.options[form.general.selectedIndex].value, target='_self') } </script> in the body for each pull down The line with "selected" in it will be the item that shows. You can leave it blank if you want or put in a title without a link. <form> <select name="general"> <option value="http://www.adobe.com" selected>Adobe <option value="http://www.microsoft.com">Microsoft </select> <p> <input type="button" value="Go" onClick="GenPag(this.form)"> </p> </form>

I Love Living In The City -Fear Probably not a great choice, either, but I like it.
  9. XUMel, what has your relationship with mgmt been ? As bad as what Streicher has experienced ?
  10. Quicktime setting Or shoot everything out of focus on the camera so you don't have any sharp crisp horizontal & vertical edges. :-) It is a digital thing you wouldn't run into in a regular film movie. Montecarloss used that codec on his video & it worked pretty well.
  11. The arcade is seriously cool. There was a smaller one in Springfield but it got torn down so a 7/8 scale hotel could be built for some reason. I would suggest, though, that you try the h.264 encoding as it should cut down on the "fluter" that happens when you pan across vertical & horizontal lines. You will probably never eliminate it entirely, but .....
  12. tattooes are kinda like beards - they are fine on other people. No, I don't know Dana. Any idea why the sign museum guy was there ?
  13. crap I am replying to my reply Here are a few I took. & yeah, Cramer strikes again. http://home.fuse.net/christol/40j/01.html
  14. Lucy Rocks http://www.lucyrocks.com/ It was a benefit at the Northside Tavern to raise money for a sick kid.
  15. Works fine here with Quicktime 7 It probably won't work with QT 6
  16. I am in OTR on a daily basis & have had fewer than 10 bad experiences there in about 25 years. Are you giving your dealer/pimp a hard time ?
  17. Well, if your mugging got caught on tape, it would make it easier to catch the mugger. And if you were lying on the ground bleeding to death you might get spotted quicker than having to wait for a passerby.
  18. You try Aglamesi's in Oakley ? That whipped crap that DQ sells isn't really comparable to real ice cream, tho.

Try again. QT & WMP opened fine for me on Mac with QT & Flip4Mac plug for WMP looks pretty well done, some cool old clips I have problems with blanket condemnations of anything, tho, including cars.

cool I like Tuckers, but on bright days I have to close my eyes for a few minutes before I go in because it is so dark in there. The clientele is a mix of street folks, businessmen, professionals & tradesmen. As usual, my co workers won't go near the place.
  21. I think I haver actually done that. I used Netscape for years & then Mozilla & Firefox. Your bookmarks file is just an html page with some proprietary coding. I have backed up these files on occasion & then wiped them out of my browser & then added the backup files to my bookmarks. Hardly ever use 'em and when I do, a lot of the sites are gone. :-) How many sites are bookmarked multiple times ? ugh
  22. I used to pronounce it brasiere as a kid. That is sad that the foot long hot dogs "steamed to perfection" seem to be on the way out.
  23. I took the Metro the other Friday night & it kinda hit me that it was sort of strange to have the same schedule on a Friday night as on Monday thru Thursday. I know that most of the old Main St crowd didn't take the bus. One of the problems is that the service ends too early for bar hopping or club concerts. Minneapolis (long time ago) started running their busses ti lafter 2 AM to curb drunk driving. Seems like a good argument. Considering that parking is an issue in the Main St area, better Metro service might help there, too. But, as we all know, only losers use public transportation.
  24. The city could have searched for & courted another more appropriate tenant ( & they might have) but isn't it kinda hard to get in & out of that location by car ? It is not a very pedestrian friendly area. hm maybe the city could kill the site by zoning away automotive access.

I don't know about this article but the effort to organize janitors in Cincinnati got some publicity about a year ago. Good janitors are hard to come by & when you get one his work is usually pretty transparent. Kinda hard to garner respect if nobody even knows you have been there but when the work isn't done it is real easy to complain about it.
