  1. Sorry isn't good enough, pal There's going to be foundations laid, if ya get what i mean..... Seriously, tho, With the Gantry, Kirby RD School & this place, the Northside & Camp Washington neighborhood business districts should do well. FWIW, Camp Washington Hardware is purchasing Northside's Ace Hardware & keeping the location going. If more retail & residential keep moving into the neighborhoods, they should do well, too.
  2. Wasn't if Bloomfield/Schon who did the Can building?
  3. they are putting roadblocks on McMicken cars can use Spring Grove Ave.

That's what I thought ALL Woolworths looked like. Now, in Cincinnati, I'm finding out they had all sorts of smaller storefronts. I think I stole Jimi Hendrix' Band of Gypsies album from this store.

Woolworths at the NW corner of Limestone & High during the great demolition.
  6. Per Central Parkway, it wasn't brought up much that there was a lot more parking behind the Mohawk Building but I am pretty sure the owner's main objective was to get rid of the trees so as to make his building more visible.

I'd say they are running about 50%
  8. Apparently she brought this up when voting on the Parkway bike path today. I am sure the businesses will suffer a loss of business with increased foot traffic & more residents.

This is the introduction to an article about Common Core by David Brooks. I don't care about Common Core, I just thought it described CO & Cincinnati politics in general really well. "We are pretty familiar with this story: A perfectly sensible if slightly boring idea is walking down the street. Suddenly, the ideological circus descends, burying the sensible idea in hysterical claims and fevered accusations. The idea’s political backers beat a craven retreat. The idea dies." Why would my camera work when held in hand but not when on the tripod? It works fine with the connecter doohickey attached but when said doohickey is mounted on the tripod the camera shuts down every time I take a picture. I am assuming my house is in a crazy parallel dimension, but if there's a real reason for this behavior, lemme know.
  12. I don't know about the buildings on Elder but there used to be a lot more people living around there in the last 30 years. Well, heck, 30 years ago, there were people living where a lot of the parking lot is now. I'm guessing slum lords, Section 8 & car dependency has a lot to do with it.

The Cincinnati Fun Map - 1982 This came out right about the time I moved to Porktown. Later, I worked at a pre press place that did work on these posters for other cities. Dunno if it was the same company that produced this. Somebody posted this on FB, unfortunately this is so small you can barely make out anything. The Kroger Building is labelled as the Kenner Building.
  14. "Urbana University has been acquired by Franklin University in an agreement that allows the smaller 164-year-old school with an estimated $30 million economic impact in Champaign County to remain open." http://www.springfieldnewssun.com/news/news/local-education/financial-troubles-lead-to-purchase-of-urbana-u/nfkp6/
  15. Have you guys ever considered something along the lines of a "Page 3 Girl" in the general photos thread?
  16. That's incompetence for you...
  17. maybe Mann can get it rerouted onto the sidewalk....
  18. dude is stark raving mad
  19. A question about the northern access to 75 from Central Parkway. Is all access to & from 75 going to be channeled through that one ramp that curves around White Castle to the intersection on MLK? I had thought there were going to be some ramps on the west side of the parkway. I can't read these $#@! ODOT maps - they're in engineerian. thanks for any clarification
  20. Cranley has been quoted as saying he intends to kill the project.

  22. There are entrances in the back and a stairway to the left/north from where there used to be a pedestrian bridge which the WECC had demolished. Some of the building entrances on Central Ave are loading zones so it's not all continuous parking.
  23. Here's the street view. The grass & trees would be removed & paved over so cyclists & pedestrians, some with mobility issues, can share a wide piece of sidewalk. Here is what nobody mentions. The building backs along Central Avenue where there appears to be some parking available.... The parking lot on the right also belongs to the Mohawk Building. FWIW, if the city gave the building owner permission to use it, he could knock out a wall in his basement and let people enter via Central Ave, drive through & park in the subway tunnel.

FF & Chrome put me into new maps, Safari did not. My OS is kinda dated so my Safari is not the latest either. ugh, I really wanted to go back & see Jesus waking down the street to his crucifixion....

I'm on a Mac. The interface is completely different on Chrome, Firefox v. Safari. I still get nothing to change time. Maybe it just doesn't work on Mac? I saw it didn't work on mobile.
