  1. They were streaming it at the Fishwarp http://cincinnati.com/blogs/politics/2013/12/02/watch-live/ People said referencing the committee meeting in 2001 where Cranley totally lost control was out of line. Apparently not.
  2. oh lord, the rules are: there are no rules... Cranleyville
  3. Has anybody heard if Mallory, Qualls, Quinlivan plan on doing anything in supporting the streetcar now that they're out of office? Mallory was saying he wanted to work for Ford on the Dan Hurley show.
  4. His brother owns Jostin Concrete who won a bid on construction. Biz Courier reports Jostin has pulled out of it's contract & that Slitherman was completely ignorant of the contract. yeah, right...
  5. more weirdness from the 'Warp New mayor needs to invest in the city's future Move ahead with the streetcar, parking lease, I71/MLK, solve poverty, fix thx the pension using the last council's plan, Wasson Way, Music Hall, Union Terminal... http://news.cincinnati.com/article/20131201/EDIT01/312010031/EDITORIAL-New-mayor-needs-invest-city-s-future?fb_action_ids=10151743731931854&fb_action_types=og.recommends&fb_ref=artsharebottom&fb_source=other_multiline&action_object_map=%5B268867206600970%5D&action_type_map=%5B%22og.recommends%22%5D&action_ref_map=%5B%22artsharebottom%22%5D

  7. Last week's Newsmakers topic - Mass Transit Buses, streetcars, BRTs... http://www.local12.com//entertainment/features/newsmakers/stories/newsmakers-november-24-2013-43.shtml#.UptG6SjvMUg
  8. More reasons to not use streetcars http://www.crimezzz.net/serialkillers/C/CINCINNATI_TRISTATE_killings.php
  9. When I first learned to drive, there was a street in Springfield that still had the abandoned rail poking out of it. Even in a Bonneville, they would catch your tires & drag you off course. These tracks look so much nicer. Too bad the media won't run pictures like these. Mann was on the Brian Patrick show today saying the new council needs to get good accurate numbers on the project. Then he cited the $50k/day figure...
  10. Interesting that the new city manager doesn't even want to live in the city... "Carden, however, doesn’t live in the city he will be running – nor does he plan to move from his home in Colerain Township. 'The city is a regional city,' he said. 'This is a personal matter with my wife. If that’s an issue, I leave that to the policymakers.'" http://news.cincinnati.com/article/20131127/NEWS/311270116
  11. "With the Brent Spence Bridge replacement – a $2.5 billion mega-project that includes not only a new span over the Ohio River, but the complete reconfiguration of the 7.8-mile interstate corridor surrounding it – the devil is in the details. It’s the impact of those details, Covington leaders are increasingly concerned, that is not getting enough attention." "“It throws a complete monkey wrench into our plans for regenerating Covington,” said City Commissioner Steve Frank." http://news.cincinnati.com/article/20131129/NEWS0103/311290042
  12. You certainly see Porktown more like my depressed, mentally ill sister does...
  13. LOL Cranley appoints Republicans to committee chairs & snubs Democrats. I hope Tim Burke is happy... Glad I'm not a Democrat or Republican or Libertarian
  14. different neighborhoods have different needs. They have different costs. Cranley's approach of doling out cash to everybody equally is fine for buying votes from immature voters but a bad way of investing in the city efficiently.
  15. We got 4 years of embarrassment coming.
  16. I cannot think of a way to explain the benefits of the streetcar in a WLW or WLWT soundbite. The constant harangue of BS from idiot news outlets, obstructionists & Cranley's low info rhetoric is hard to overcome. His divisiveness worked, tho & Dave is right. Why should I care if Walnut Hills or Mt Washington burn to the ground? oh, right, I'm a Cincinnatian & cannot possibly see how letting an entire neighborhood rot & foster organized crime helps anybody in the city.

they're saying that because he is paying everything off in good faith, they are OK with him http://cincinnati.com/blogs/politics/2013/11/27/kearney-has-credit-card-problems-too/ If he can't keep an eye on his paper while holding public office, he should probably sell it off.
  18. This is starting to look like the inspiration for the Fishwarp editorial board...
  19. Clifton Gorge, Yellow Springs, Glen Helen, Young's Jersey Dairy... make a day of it, well worth the trip
  20. I went thru that place on a church tour awhile back. Those guys have their work cut out for them. Dinno, it was 1 or 2 years ago - it was that downtown tours company's Christmas tour thing. After the stabilization? Just curious. They've spent more than half a million on that building for roof and structural repair already.

Krampus is kool. We should all celebrate Krampusnacht, on the eve of St Nicholas Day, across Ohio. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WLnl5ZWG4tg
  23. This has been posted in the streetcar thread but it deserves a mention here. http://news.cincinnati.com/article/20131126/EDIT01/311260115/EDITORIAL-Finish-streetcar?nclick_check=1 These guys are insane saying Mallory & Qualls re at fault for not getting the message out on the streetcar. How many hit pieces did Horstman write? How many times did they go to Finney, Luken or Smitherman for "facts"? These guys are as guano crazy as Cranley. It's like Alice in Wonderland on codeine....
  24. Apparently Al Triantifilou is very disappointed with PG. aawwwww......

Finney asks for tax breaks in Union TWP to start a new office. Chris Finney, a high-profile lawyer who criticized a tax break for Pure Romance when the company sought a deal to move its office and scores of jobs from Clermont County to downtown Cincinnati, is seeking a tax break for himself and possibly other attorneys before he opens a law office in Clermont County. “Is there no limit to the welfare state?” Finney was quoted by the Cincinnati Enquirer in September when asked whether the state of Ohio and the city of Cincinnati should grant tax breaks to Pure Romance... http://www.bizjournals.com/cincinnati/news/2013/11/26/coast-attorney-chris-finney-seeks-tax.html?page=all
