  1. Apparently some Democrats don't trust Cranley... "Rumors continue that John Cranley would choose Christopher Smitherman as his vice mayor. Both he and Smitherman have said there’s no such plan. But some Democratic precinct chairs are worried enough about the possibility of Cranley choosing a non-Democrat that they’re asking party chairman Tim Burke to get them some assurances." http://cincinnati.com/blogs/politics/2013/10/14/some-dems-want-assurance-from-cranley-re-vice-mayor-choice/

  5. thanks, an old time Cincinnatian said this about the old streetcar system "Freezing Rain was the biggest problem. When we got into cold weather, they put ice scrapers in front of pole contacts." Of course, tnere's a rumor that technology has advanced since then.
  6. This is probably buried in here somewhere, but, what's the solution for ice on the power lines?

  8. CO claims the SWOH Green Party has endorsed John Cranley for mayor. At a recent green candidates forum, participants claimed Cranley did very poorly. The pension fund deficit is supposedly on of the Greenies big issues & Cranky intends to cut city contributions & borrow money for a lump sum payment into the fund. freaks http://coast-usa.blogspot.com/2013/10/hamilton-county-green-party-endorses.html
  9. CO has posted the SWOH Green Party endorsements for council. I didn't see 'em on their site, tho, so this may be another unauthorized post on their part. A helmet for handstands? Aren't you more likely to hurt your wrists? I did hear someone advocating for helmets for pedestrians.
  16. With the ballot language changing, I'm not so sure early voting is a good idea. When did the streetcar operating budget triple? When the uptown leg quadrupled?

  23. White and Orange Noise Mayoral and council candidates who say they’ll shut down the streetcar ignore the realities facing the project "In other words, after accounting for lost federal grant money, the city could be on the hook for an extra $29 million if it cancels the project over completing it. " http://www.citybeat.com/cincinnati/article-28786-white_%28and_orange%29_noise.html
