  1. ^yeah, I just saw somebody on FB who is convinced the city has laid off police.
  2. Kasich & Jobs Ohio claim they want a minimum return on their buck but if these guys failed that criteria why not say so? Most likely religionists in Columbus objected.
  3. If this was a survey, the pollsters would have probably asked even fewer people.
  4. interesting piece from WKRC. They say the mayoral primary winners have lost the general elections 100% of the time so far. I'd forgotten. http://www.local12.com/news/features/featured/stories/low-turnout-expected-cincinnati-mayoral-primary-1354.shtml?fb_action_ids=10151587522446854&fb_action_types=og.likes&fb_ref=.Ui9X24As0Uk.like&fb_source=aggregation&fb_aggregation_id=288381481237582#.Ui-1GeDvMUh Other than poll workers, I was the only person at my polling place in balmy College Hill today...

I think you'd have to register "Coalition Opposed to Additional Spending and Taxes". Since that's not what those guys are about maybe they thought renewing the name was inappropriate.

"The name of the high-profile anti-tax group is now available through the Ohio Secretary of State’s Office. The Coalition Opposed to Additional Spending and Taxes name was registered in 2006 by COAST official Mark Miller. However, the registration was cancelled in 2011 after Miller failed to renew." http://cincinnati.com/blogs/politics/2013/09/10/coast-name-available-from-secretary-of-state/

wow, would love to see interiors. After, the butchering, might as well tear the sucker down. Of course, if it was in Cincinnati, they would have burned it down...

The invasion has begun "Something in the Peruvian Amazon is making weird, intricate structures that resemble white picket fences surrounding an Isengard-like spire. No one has any idea who the mysterious craftsbug (fungus? spider?) is, or what the structure is even used for, excepting the fence part, which almost makes sense. Nobody, not even the scientists. We asked." http://www.wired.com/wiredscience/2013/09/weird-weblike-thing/

yeesh, CO endorses Berns & in their preprimary 'Action Alert' all they can muster is "don't vote for Qualls". Berns even praised them on the Dan Hurley show Sunday. FWIW, the Hurley show might be up sometime Tuesday. It features Berns, Cranley, Noble & Smith. Smith has great hair but that's about it. I gotta give Cranley credit for sitting next to Noble. That took some balls. Qualls was busy.
  10. ^well, if nobody else runs for office, they're gonna run the show.
  11. lemon loaf? well, that clinches it for me...

I think White Blacula is destined for greatness
  14. Cranley should be banned from UO
  15. oh holy heck. When I posted that I thought I had just remembered the date wrong, I didn't realize there were 2 in one month! The one in Cincinnati is 9/13-15 http://cincinnaticomicexpo.com/
  16. Cincinnati Comicon this weekend, Friday thru Sunday @ the Convention Center. This year it (theoretically) expands to the Hall of Justice aka Union Terminal, but I'm not seeing anything going on there... Bernie Wrightson, Arthur Adams, Geof Darrow & Tony Moore will be there. http://www.cincycomicon.com/Welcome.html
  17. Cranley has 3 ads - all negative, Qualls has 2 ads - one negative. Hers is, at least, amusing. She could have used a dwarf...
  18. 5 Guys comes to Springfield on, where else but, N Bechtle.
  19. Ruth's Parkside Cafe to open in the American Can building in October. FWIW, they hoped to open last September but what the heck... http://www.wcpo.com/news/local-news/ruths-parkside-caf-sates-appetites-of-food-missionaries-in-northside
  20. I think going negative is risky for Qualls. She has built up a reputation over many years by playing clean and being above the fray. The ad is lighthearted, Qualls' image, voice & logo are not in the ad.
  21. Ever seee Cloverfield?
  22. hoerstw, the vote in November is the important one but, yes, you are supposed to vote twice. September will just eliminate Berns & Noble. In the last financial reports, Qualls appeared to have more donors even tho Canley had more money.
  23. Megabus a mega-nuisance? A bag who lives on the 6th floor across the street from a Megabus stop complains of sights, sounds, smells, litter, dangerous crowds.... As this system gains ridership it seems like stations would be inevitable. Seems like the Transit Center is a logical place in Cincinnati. Well, if the buses would fit. http://news.cincinnati.com/article/20130904/NEWS/309040054
