- Cincinnati: Mayor John Cranley
Jim Berns has challenged city council to abolish the mayoral primary. "Let’s see if they can do something as easy and sensible as this," he wrote. Can the council do that? The voters enacted the primary when voting to directly elect the mayor. http://cincinnati.com/blogs/politics/2013/02/07/berns-why-spend-so-much-on-mayoral-primary/- Governor John Kasich
I was thinking that taxing professional services would actually be kinda progressive since wealthy people probably hire more pro services than poor people do but then really wealthy people jus have in house services, so..... The county power grab is kinda weird - don't like it. frankly I'm beginning to think Kasich is just trying to stir poop up for the sheer heck of it.- Is This How The End Begins?

This might just be pandering to both sides - he's been in politics a while. One of the most hotly debated issues in Cincinnati has been the city’s planned $128 million, 3.8-mile streetcar line, which might be expanded if the first phase proves successful. “The voters have twice given it the go-ahead and I respect that. I wouldn’t change it at this point,” Mann said. “But it’s something that should be carefully looked at every step of the way.” http://www.wcpo.com/dpp/news/local_news/After-long-absence-David-Mann-seeks-return-to-Cincinnati-City-Council- Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News

These guys sure do live in an alternate dimension. I think someone ought to go on their show to do an in-studio interview posing as a streetcar opponent and then start sharing some facts. Maybe they'll end up bleeding from their ears. It's probably why some people can work on an assembly for 30 years and never get tired of it. If you take someone out of their routine and suggest a change, I sincerely believe they will suffer a panic attack. It's why some people can live in the same small town, or in the same house in a big city all their lives and be just fine. And that's probably why this radio station appeals to them. It never changes and is always with them in their safe little homes, er, bunkers. That's probably also why the streetcar scares the living hell out of them -- because it is a big change. You could put some of these clowns in a Kafka Penal Colony thingamajig & they would still NEVER figure it out.- The Official 700 WLW Sucks Thread!

After how many years - Cranley now cautions against 'rushing' the project. ""No matter the motivation, rushing to complete the streetcar while there are millions of dollars in unresolved issues and a looming mayoral election is just not a good idea," he said in a statement." http://www.bizjournals.com/cincinnati/news/2013/02/01/mayor-city-manager-plan-cincinnati.html- Dayton: Random Development and News
Yellow Springs - Little Art Theatre to get $475K upgrade The scrappy but cherished art house — will undergo a $475,000 renovation this spring to equip the theater with the digital projection and sound needed to show movies once 35mm film is phased out. No date has been set for when work will begin and or how long it will last. Cowperthwaite hopes to be closed for only about two months. One of the few things set to survive the renovation will be the theater’s six houselights, which were designed, painted and installed in 1947 by an Antioch College student. http://www.springfieldnewssun.com/news/news/local/theatre-to-get-475k-upgrade/nWCG3/- Test your knowledge of World City locations

Not so sure health care is something we want to hand off to the robots - especially if the robots are running on ~ahem~ biofuel.
