How the Rich Rule By Sheldon Richman, vice president and editor at The Future of Freedom Foundation and author of Tethered Citizens: Time to Repeal the Welfare State. http://www.theamericanconservative.com/articles/how-the-rich-rule/- Funny/scary transit/driving stories
The bus I used to commute to work on went through University of Cincinnati & past a couple hospitals. Dunno if that's why there were frequently people with mental issues on the bus. Anyway, a common thing I saw in people was "rocking". When the bus was moving these people rock back & forth in their seats - the faster the bus went the more violently they rocked. When the bus would stop - they would sit still, tho obviously spent - breathing heavily & sweating. Any clue what this problem is a symptom of?- COAST
Kathy Wilson discusses the local alliance of COA T & NA CP, or more to the point the Chris & Chris show. " In the case of Smitherman and the NAACP and Finney and COAST, there is something more jakey afoot than what they’ve been trying to convince us is an over-taxed governmental abuse of power since they’ve been in cahoots." http://www.citybeat.com/cincinnati/article-26705-black_tea.html Meanwhile, they are justifying tax hikes by Rebloodlicans on the Hamilton county commission spin spin spin spin- Cincinnati: Mayor John Cranley

"The Center City Association is currently accepting submissions for its downtown bike rack design competition. The organization is taking artists’ designs for the competition to help improve the physical environment downtown, as well as to promote bicycle activity in the city’s core." http://www.springfieldnewssun.com/news/news/local/downtown-bike-rack-designs-sought/nTMxW/- Cincinnati: Mayor John Cranley
More on Berns from the News Record http://www.newsrecord.org/news/city/article_6d6516d8-3cc8-11e2-828a-001a4bcf6878.html He wants to release certain city functions to the private sector where, he said, competitive markets will help those services thrive." but, really, who competes with many of the city services?- Cincinnati City Council
I'm not surprised. If it was so easy, everybody would be doing it. I took some of the classes at Media Bridges & the staff really does try to teach this stuff. In one class a lady borrowed a camera held it in front of her high school yearbook (on a table) & turned the pages with the hand not holding the camera. Not only was it horrible & nausea inducing, her classmates at her reunion LOVED it. They should charge a membership fee. Anyhoo: City Bleat offers some details & clarity - something the MSM hasn't done and, as such, is good argument for Media Bridges. http://www.citybeat.com/cincinnati/blog-4220-city_slashing_media_bridges_funding.html- Solar Chargers
Has anybody in Ohio got these? "A Serbian startup called Strawberry Energy has a new design for its solar powered public chargers and recently installed its eighth “Strawberry Tree” in Serbia. In the wake of the Sandy-induced power crunch, I’d love to see some of these in a public areas in cities in the U.S." http://gigaom.com/cleantech/post-sandy-wish-list-solar-powered-public-chargers/- Cincinnati: Crime & Safety Discussion
That's unfortunate. While I am more of a traditionalist on stuff & would opt for flowers at a cemetery, I understand that street memorials are very important to some folks. That said, I am assuming the guy who got busted didn't own his home (hard to get a mortgage based on pusher/pimp income) so I hope nobody decides to vandalize the house.- Cincinnati City Council

University of Cincinnati campus ranked among most dangerous in U.S. It ranked the most dangerous colleges in America by averaging FBI crime data per capita from 2008 to 2011 for schools with enrollment above 10,000. http://www.bizjournals.com/cincinnati/morning_call/2012/11/university-of-cincinnati-campus-ranked.html- Cincinnati: Crime & Safety Discussion

Crowell-Collier back on market for $5M After buying the 1 block building for $1.5M about a year ago & carting out some garbage, Mosier Industrial Services has put the building bck on the market for $5M. Mosler claims, "they’d love to see it renovated". I have hauled trash out of buildings before but I never saw a building magically increase in value like that after I was done. http://www.springfieldnewssun.com/news/news/local/crowell-collier-back-on-market-for-5m/nTJc7/- Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News

over in Indiana, the Hillenbrand company is diversifying, leaving Batesville casket a smaller & smaller piece of their revenue pie. Burials are down as cremation becomes more & more popular. "Batesville, which manufactures caskets, burial vaults, and urns, has been the company’s main source of revenue and operating earnings for years. But Hillenbrand has been diversifying its business model, primarily through acquisitions, and Batesville is becoming a smaller piece of the pie." http://connectingdirectors.com/articles/37355-could-batesville-be-for-sale-soon and http://connectingdirectors.com/articles/37351-hillenbrand-moving-away-from-batesville-casket-cash- Is This How The End Begins?

Media Bridges lost some funding. TW? Something in their funding didn't last forever & ended recently. As much as Smitherman & the the blackenomics guy use the facilities they should really pay something (and maybe they do) That people on this forum don't use it to push some of the agendas proposed here truly baffles me.- Greater Cincinnati Metro (SORTA) and TANK News & Discussion

Sittenfeld was laughing nervously as Cunningham cut him off and yelled at him scoldingly.- The Official 700 WLW Sucks Thread!
Just listened. Cunningham knows how to run the mic. Sittenfeld is young, inexperienced & has no clue. As far as Mallory laughing & acting goofy? Why not? It's a comedy show. Slitherman better keep friends with Cunningham tho if Media Bridges goes - that'll put a hurt on the local king of all media. - Funny/scary transit/driving stories
