I thought it was odd they are just doing electric. That's why I brought up the wind farm thing. It might hurt the gas stove business.....

Dayton: Random Development and News
Springfield hopes $2.3M hangar will help lure jobs "The city of Springfield wants to build a new $2.3 million hangar complex at its airport to attract drone developers. The city plans to seek $2 million from the state later this year and will pay for the rest with city dollars, said Tom Franzen, the city’s economic development administrator. “To have something ready and available when someone has an interest is going to give us an edge,” Franzen said." http://www.springfieldnewssun.com/news/springfield-news/springfield-hopes-2-3m-hangar-will-help-lure-jobs-1387369.html

"Champaign County commissioners are moving forward with a proposal that could provide residents in some townships and villages with a discount on their electricity bills. The county is working with the County Commissioners Association of Ohio to place an electric aggregation on the ballot this fall." Champaign county has been working on building a wind farm in recent years which has proven politically contentious. http://www.springfieldnewssun.com/news/springfield-news/champaign-county-considers-electric-proposal-1387363.html

not specifically OTR but a local TV poll asks: Is the development in downtown Cincinnati winning you over? yes - 24.4% no - 75.6 not exactly sure what "winning you over" means. http://www.local12.com/default.aspx

Pet Peeves!
Just a gol' dang minute, there, whippersnapper! I'm a senior citizen, and for everything except large purchases usually I'm prepared to pay cash at the register. Where I need to write a check, before I get to the register I'll fill out everything except the amount. Oh, God, how I hate how whippersnappers have to pull out a half-dozen almost-maxed out cards for everything and put "this many dollars on this one, and that many dollars on that one," and on and on, and then get on the phone with a representative of the card issuer when one of their cards gets declined. They can tie up a register for twenty minutes trying to pay for $200 worth of frivolous, useless electronic home entertainment. Checks have become a real PITA. Those generic check checker devices are lame & take more time than writing the check. I got rejected by one awhile ago. Fortunately I was at a locally owned pharmacy & my check was through a small local bank down the street. The owner called the bank VP (friends) & checked up on me. They accepted the check, but if I hadn't been all local, I would have gone without my dope. technology - bah!

Somebody suggested an abandoned PNC bank on that FB page. I'm thinking that is too small but I haven't been out that way in awhile.

here's a WCPO "article" on Pleasant Ridge. http://www.wcpo.com/dpp/news/region_central_cincinnati/pleasant_ridge/pleasant-ridge-businesses-in-danger-of-losing-locations Isn't this area in the Community Entertainment district also? Seems like a waste of that, too. They wanted a front parking lot & drive through in Northside, too, which kinda screwed 'em on zoning.

Grocery store express lanes - the 15 items or less isn't the end of it. Your transactions are supposed to be short, simple and quick. If you are making exchanges, taking out loans, bartering - stay outta the damn EXPRESS lane! Guy in front of me yesterday only had about 12 items but he managed to break it down into 4 separate transactions using ....something besides cash. The chick in front of him only had about 6 items but her transaction required several clerks & assistant managers. There should be a designated "hopeless" lane.

Toledo: Restaurant News & Info
A fairly scathing review of Toledo hotels from the Blade http://www.toledoblade.com/local/2012/05/27/Hotels-in-Toledo-fall-far-short-of-elite-status-1.html "The restaurant at the Grand Plaza hotel has one of the area's more spectacular views of the Maumee River. But on some days, a traveler staying there would find it closed for dinner. And after eating a meal in his room or at the bar, if he wanted to relax with a drink he would have to make it fast because the bar is only open until 10 p.m. on weekdays."
