  2. This can't be stressed enough. My mom had poor circulation & was starting in on alzheimer's. She never drove and still walked to places in her 80s, but the alzies was kinda scary so she moved into a retirement place. Everything was given to her - she didn't have to think & the place was so isolated, she couldn't walk anywhere. Her decline was seriously accelerated. Warehousing the elderly & keeping them out of sight is no good.

    criminy, if you can get a downpayment, you can buy in Northside for under $1k/mo. Then you can plant a garden, get a dog, couple cats, chickens, crank up the stereo & pee in the back yard, too.

  17. In recent weeks in Northside, Northslice pizza & The Grove have both closed. Chameleon has opened in the old 5th Amendment location. The Boswell Alley property was sold at Sheriff's auction. No idea what's going on there.
