Quick question: Is sponsorship a way that we can save rail here? I understand that we are not getting rid of rail with these cuts, but shutting down operation at 8pm and 9pm surely won't help them grow. So seeing that the health line being sponsored by various institutions helps with its operation, sponsorship helps keep the trolly free and the Cleveland State sponsorship helps with the CSU Line operation, could the same be done for our rail? Sponsorship could help with the operation of the lines, keep them running longer and possibly free up money and assist with the purchase of new cars. I'm not sure of the possibility of this but just was wondering if this is viable. Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk

East Cleveland: News & Discussion
If Cuyahoga County were to get involved with anything, I'd rather see a city-county merger.

Bittersweet to see it go, so many memories from elementary school.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
Staying the course sometimes can be a bad thing. Adjustments need to be made. In this series a smaller lineup is needed. I respect your opinion on Love, he just fell out of favor with me a while ago. Bring Love off the bench for second unit offense this series. Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk

I found that to be interesting as well. Wasn't one of the big discussions on the merger about the pros and cons of taking on East Clevelands debt? I may be wrong. Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk

East Cleveland: News & Discussion
Does anyone have any idea how much it would actually cost Cleveland to take over East Cleveland? Also what are some of the benefits, if any, a city gets for having a population of over 400,000? Cleveland and East Cleveland are still losing population. Would the combination be over 400,000 after 2020? Right now their combined populations are around 405K. Correct, I'm not sure if they will be above 400K by 2020 but this gives them a much better chance. If i remember correctly Cleveland lost a measly 500 or so residents, a very small amount. With what would become the "East Cleveland neighborhood" so close to U.C., a booming neighborhood running out of real estate, i believe the flood gates would open and so much development would occur in what was Easy Cleeveland. This could jump start the neighborhood and allow more businesses to have space to build in the city limits. With so much vacant land and abandoned properties, you seemingly are in a midtown situation which allows you a canvas to extend the vibrance feel of UC. With a combination of new business and more land for residential there would be a great chance to build on the 405K population. This is me being an optimist though. I personally feel as if Love should come off of the bench. When he is on the court the game slows down, usually Kevin Love is on the block and backs down to the rack. What I noticed last night is Kyrie is a MUCH more effective player playing at a faster pace than when he is in half court offense. This may explain the disconnect between Kyrie and Love when they play together, just two different styles. I feel that Lue should stick to what worked, a smaller faster lineup. I liked that RJ being in there providing much better defensive insurance than when love is in there and his "lack of offense" isn't a problem. Kyrie, James and Smith can provide enough offense to make up for it. I'd rather have Rj guarding Draymond than Love, I don't think his poor shooting night was a coincidence. Another thing I noticed was the Warriors players especially Curry get bothered by physical play, keep that up and we should be fine. Side observation. Lue needs to go to his bench for longer stretches of times. Playing LeBron and Kyrie for 40+ minutes per game won't bode well down the stretch, while Curry and Thompson are in the late 20s to early 30s in play time. They simply will have the edge in the 4th if the game is close due to energy alone.

Cleveland: Downtown: May Company Building
We have a good amount of nice local sit down restaurants in the vicinity of public square to 4th street. What we don't have is a good amount of national grab and go restaurants, I feel we could use more of these w/o over saturating the market. The icing on the cake is this will be the 3rd one in the country and the other two are in cities with huge vibrant urban cores. Even though this is a fast food establishment, to be considered to have an urban core vibrant enough to take on a company's concept this early in it's growth is a huge compliment to OUR progress and growth. I'll take it.

The problem in the blighted areas will be the graffiti that ends up covering it. Best be careful with contact. There were murals done in the Detroit "People Mover". One was supposed to depict people rushing for the train, but looked a lot like a purse snatching. Ironically, the PM was one of the few low crime places in Detroit, then. This is very true about the graffiti, I just want love shown to all areas. I feel as if it would give off the vibe of favoritism to the "money making neighborhoods" and neglect to the others. It kind of could end up like the situation of the mini-station getting placed in downtown instead of "neglected neighborhoods." Just my thoughts. Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk

Cleveland: Midtown: Development and News
What happened to the city wanting to avoid building dead zones? This is a HUGE dead zone, as well as an ugly one. Even Cleveland Clinic created a garage with some sort of pedestrian activity. Sheesh.

Cleveland: Midtown: Development and News
I hope that they redevelop midtown correctly. As a poster previously mentioned the east side of Cleveland proper could really use more trendy and vibrant neighborhood outside of U.C and Little Italy. Being the gap between Downtown Cleveland and University Circle this could create miles and miles of vibrant activity all the way from Downtown to 118th and Euclid. As I mentioned in the past one of Cleveland's biggest problems is that it doesn't connect and that really kills momentum. I understand that they are making this the "Health-Tech" corridor but that doesn't mean that it can't be vibrant. With the new zoning overlay discussion, trying to make sure dead zones are a thing of the past this is the perfect time to strike. Retail and restaurants on the ground floors of office buildings, and some residential. For residential that doesn't have ground floor retail, try to avoid a 668 euclid situation and place some sort of thing that makes that floor look inviting and busy. Midtown is essentially a clean slate and if done right Euclid avenue can be vibrant from Downtown to the limits of University Circle.

Article: The RTA Red Line art blitz unfolds with vast, eye-catching artworks (photos) http://www.cleveland.com/arts/index.ssf/2016/06/the_rta_red_line_art_blitz_unf.html#incart_river_home I like that they want to extend it to more locations, hopefully the blighted areas get it and not just W.25th, Little Italy, etc. basically the hip neighborhoods. I won't hold my breath though when it comes to them extending this.

Cleveland: Public Square Redesign
It's blended in with the rest of the southern half of the Square, near the ''speakers' corner''. I hope the Square is open in time for some ABC shots during the NBA Finals home games. I hope ABC steps it up with some good shots of Cleveland generally during the NBA Finals instead of the cliché shots that we've all seen time and time again. Ahh thank you, also I agree I tire of seeing the Rock Hall at various angles and as beautiful as terminal tower is we have more to offer downtown. Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk

A relocated Hard Rock Café in the May Co. building might work out there as well. Very true, I wish that it could relocate to the new building going up next to the rock hall, talk about perfect. Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk
